The quality of the homes are not what you think nor what they make them out to be. The home I purchased arrived with a broken dormer window. It took them over three months to replace it. Although I paid for aluminum siding the house arrived with only 30% of the siding installed. I had to pay someone to complete the rest of the siding. We had purchased the home without the second floor completed. My husband and I decided to hire a company to do spray foam insulation in the second floor and attic. Due to the poor construction of the modular home, the spray foam seeped to the outside. The sheetrock on the ceilings of the first floor were so poorly installed and plastered that in the evenings if you looked up at the ceilings it looked like ocean waves. The lines and unevenness were so visible that I couldn't believe the amount of money I paid for this home and the cost I incurred to correct their mistakes. I also had to pay to replace half of the outlets because they didn't work. Purchasing a modular home was a mistake and going with this company was an even bigger mistake. I originally thought that modular homes would be less of a hassle however I was wrong. If you are looking to build I would strongly recommend you take the time to look for a good reputable developer. Modular homes are not well made nor do the companies selling them stand behind their work. They get paid in full before the delivery and then you are left chasing them for repairs and service. Future Homes Technology Inc. was purchased by Excel Modular homes, a company located in PA. Although I contacted Excel for some of the problems the service was the same.

Ben executed our ideas perfectly and was one of the few builders willing to incorporate some salvaged peices we had collected into our new build. Other area builders we talked to about this were reluctant to do so but Ben was enthusiastic about adding "character" to our home with his design and our salvages materials including vintage columns, fireplace surrounds and mantels, and antique doors. Today you see this on DIY TV shows all the time but 7 years ago Hogan Homes was the ONLY local builder we talked to who was not just willing but HAPPY to make these peices part of our beautiful home. Little did I know when renting said apartment, that the property had already been walked away from and was soon to be pursued by the bank. Landlord, also dba as Olympia, ignored most of my complaints. What complaints he did heed were quickly blamed upon me, such as the rotted plumbing that was backing up onto the bathroom floor due to it being fed into the backyard and not into the town's plumbing. As well, handshake agreement during lease signing to remove past tenants trash from side of house was ignored. Two months ago, after much pursuit by a trustee of the bank, an agent from the bank came to change the locks on the house; only to be thwarted by the police. Trying to leave the apartment now two months behind in rent and landlord is shamelessly, after grossly profiting from the rent, trying to recoup those two months rent. I'd assume that any business deal with this company is going to be risky, as proper facilities seem to not exist.
