Maybe they've changed up how they do business? The reviews on here don't reflect my experience at all - I feel like I must have been in a completely different Marshall's, but I've checked the address. The store was clean, organized and everyone on staff that I spoke with was friendly, accommodating and did a great job. The moment I walked in, I was greeted. Because this isn't my Marshall's, I wasn't sure where some items were. I stopped to ask a woman and she was so sweet in her response, directed me exactly where to go and asked if I needed anything else. I made a quick pit stop and the bathrooms were ok, as far as a Marshall's bathroom goes - I certainly didn't feel like I needed to run home and bathe afterwards. This Marshall's is much bigger than my usual one in Austin and had so many great items! I found everything I needed, grabbed my purchases and headed to the counter to check out. The woman that rang up my items was very sweet. I think this store is doing a great job and I have no complaints other than the bathrooms need a little TLC, but you don't really come to Marshall's to go potty, ok? read more

The customer service is the absolute worst! Today, dropped in looking for some work out clothes. Ended up finding what I needed, around $300 which goes a long way at Marshall's. Got to the Register and the lady ringing up the order just took the items off the hanger and wadded it up and put it in the bag. I asked her if I could just leave everything on hangers and she was like No and it was at that point I asked her if she would please fold the clothes neatly vs wadding them up. I was pleasant in the request but my RBF said it all. She thought I was rude. Frustrating! read more

Horrible customer service. I came to return a perfume I had purchase incorrectly and was told I couldn't return it because it had been used. When the perfume had not been used and I even had all the packaging it came with and receipt. Even when I asked if we could at least do store credit and once again explained the perfume has not been used that I purchase the incorrect one was still told no because I had bought it days before. As far as I know I have 30 days from the day it was purchased to be returned and it had only been a week as I have a full time day job and don't have many days when I can come to the store to just make a return. Now I'm stuck with a perfume I did not want because I didint return it that same day I bought it? Make it make sense change y'all's return policy then. If yall plan on buying a perfume make sure yall don't want to return it as they make any excuse to try not to accept it. read more

This is another Marshals, where there really isn't a lot of greatness to write home about. It's a bit run down inside even though the outside looks good. Dusty everywhere, and the staff really only acknowledges you when you're at the check out counter. We came in to look for luggage. They had plenty, just not what we were looking for. I don't fault the store, I know they only get what comes to them. Usually has good prices, just sad to see it so ill kept and the staff always seems to be frowning. read more

This was ridiculous. The customer service that Edgar gave today was absolutely asinine. It was nonexistent. He was rude, obnoxious, had no desire to help us figure out what our rewards were. He scanned 50 bags that we were buying and then after it was all done, said oh no, my scanner isn't working. He didn't seem to give a crap that he was gonna make us stand there another 20 minutes to rescan everything. He's a sorry excuse for an employee. In the past, it's always been nice when the cashier ask if we have any rewards, and the last cashier actually look them up for me. Not Edgar, he's a jerk. read more

I would like to start by saying I have nothing against the young lady that help me. She was very sweet and I do not blame her for this situation, mistakes happen and I just wish Marshalls was more courteous to their customers. I recently visited with a friend and was accidentally charged twice for one of the four items I purchased, unfortunately I didn't catch this at the time of the transaction and didn't collect my receipt from the cashier. I'm the type of person to pay whatever the cashier tells me because either way I want the merchandise. I went back the next day to discuss with a consultant and one of the managers popped by to say if you don't have the receipt or all 4 tags there's nothing we can do. I was able to locate two of my tags so before going back I called and spoke with a lady who said I could come back with what I have and the card I paid with and they'll be able to help. Upon returning, the same manager before says it wasn't enough, and still refused to do anything to help me, stating she can pull my transaction but not the items purchased in said transaction. Didn't make sense to me then, doesn't make sense to me now. I hate that I didn't get any names but will definitely not be returning here any time soon. Don't expect any type of courtesy from them, especially if you're Black/African American. All together, sweet cashier during initial transaction and I loved the purchase. read more

The stars aligned at Marshall's department store in Southlake. I was hopeful that my experience would be met with a reasonable manager and it was. I explained what occurred once to Haniffa. She listened attentively without interruption and told me to go see if the product I requested to be replaced was available. In the meantime, Dareen returned to the front with Haniffa, both were store managers. I was sure I would have to repeat the story and I didn't. Haniffa stepped in briefly explained the issue and both resolved the issue. Deborah assisted me in the final transaction with a smile. The team exceeded my expectation in customer service. I bought a bag of Ghirardelli Caramel squares which turned out to be crushed when I opened the bag. I took them back to the store within 3 hours. Unfortunately I lost the receipt, but had a picture of it. The manager said she could not accept a picture of the receipt for a food item, but would make an exception for store credit only. In the end, I got my money back for a defective product. Marshall's got their defective product back and had an angry customer walk out the door with a store card and without the product that they wanted and was on the shelf. read more

This Marshalls is behind the Montgomery Plaza, surrounded by your typical chain stores (Ross, Dollar Tree, PetSmart, Michaels... they all seem to come together in a package). This is a pretty nice location compared to many shopping centers, but I wasn't particularly impressed. While it's clean and spacious, it seemed to me that there wasn't a satisfactory variety or selection, especially when it came to clothes (and that's mostly what I come to Marshalls to find). Every section seemed so sparsely filled. And while I know Marshalls is all about featuring designer brands at a reduced rate, I felt like many items were still overpriced. Most of the clearance pieces were between $20-$30, which is a lot to pay for a clearance blouse (unless its a Michael Kors... but still). I can't help but compare this Marshalls to the ones I frequent in Arlington and Euless. The Fort Worth location is nicer on the inside and outside, better organized, and wasn't filled with screaming children during my visit. However, I was underwhelmed by the products I browsed. if I could only give zero stars I would. This store is absolute crap and selfish! My friend, and I were waiting for some merchandise that they were supposed to bring out from the back as they were bringing everything else out, and when I asked a worker who was in charge of that department, she got a different person named Richard, who was making smart remarks, and constantly making faces towards us that made us feel uncomfortable. But he said that there is no favoritism, which how is their favoritism over some thing I'm interested in purchasing in their store that they sell stuff at? Anyways, they end up not bringing the stuff out, so we waited, and most of the employees in the back were laughing at us, and we could hear them cussing and laughing, and making jokes, and literally looking at us and didn't seem to care. The worker Rosa was working home section, and she told my friend that she would put the merchandise out between 4 to 5 PM. Mind you we were there since noon. I had to leave early and my friend stayed, however, as soon as 5 o'clock hit, Rosa decided to tell Kourtney the manager that she felt harassed and uncomfortable. So Kourtney asked my friend to leave the store. Like any other buying customer, told her to leave, and we spoke to a person in corporate management, who gave us the actual corporate number who said that that was wrong that they did that, and they're not supposed to hold items for employees in the back, let alone every thing they were doing in their behavior towards us. We were out of the way, and we were trying to purchase other things, however, it was ridiculous to say one thing and then completely do another. This store is a mess all the time and the employees are very rude and make customers feel uncomfortable. It's not a fun environment to shop in!! there was only one employee who I spoke to. I didn't get his name, but he was a sweetheart to me. About the whole situation even though it was out of his power, he thought it was ridiculous as well. I think that this store having the bad ratings that it does, is justifiable. Richard, Rosa, Kourtney, and Louis the other manager. When I go into Marshalls, I know I'm going to find some products that I want--for less than what I'd pay at the mall. I read magazines, I shop around, I keep up with beauty blogs, so I'm aware of the good brands that Marshalls stores consistently carry. I have shopped these stores for literally decades. That being said, I don't expect to walk into the store and have a personal shopper tend to me. I don't expect anything from the guy at the counter--except for him to enable me to pay for my items. I'm pleasant to the store employees, and they're pleasant to me. This particular Marshalls is absolutely fine. It's in an area that has recently become a trendy place to live, so the neighborhood has experienced some growing pains. There were a lot of kids in the store, but that's just the neighborhood. I've been here probably 10 times, and I've even driven(in hot pursuit of items)to this particular location from my home in Dallas. This time, I purchased about $35 worth of various goodies. The salesclerk at the counter was very approachable and social with me. I got some good deals. I even found a really cool piece of Dallas artwork. There's NO WAY I ever would've found this if I'd been shopping in Dallas! I have zero complaints about my visit. If anything, reading the other reviews makes me seriously question people's entitled attitudes. I think it's important to adjust your expectations appropriately. Also, Yelp reviews are not about settling a vendetta. Everyone who works at these stores are regular people--just like you and me. I'll be back to this store. I am partial to the Carson City store because of the distance, but I noticed our store manager was moved to the South Meadows location. I've been there twice now and this store keeps getting better and better. I would contribute this to the management. I went today (Thursday) and there were a ton of markdowns and options. I knew where it was and how to find it quickly, so when I arrived at 6:54 to them already having locked the doors when they closed at 7, I was a little disappointed. It's next to the messiest Ross location ever. Well maybe not ever, but it's out of control next door. So in comparison, this place looks great. The selection is small though. I've found some great home decor, pillows, etc but the clothing is always a miss. I did find some cute Roxy things the other day, but that's the first time. Be sure to check the pots and pans section. Every now and then I find a steal. I found some fabulous, huge bamboo cutting boards that I love and use almost daily. read more

Marshall's is one of my favorite stores. I go to Marshall's around once a month. I've been to many Marshall's in Texas (Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Temple, etc.), many in California (Los Angeles). This Marshall's is one of the worst. First, the customer service did not live up to Fort Worth's standard. I went to college in Fort Worth for 4 years and loved the Fort Worth's hospitality. If you are out of towners, please don't judge Fort Worth based on this one store's lack of customer service. It was such a shame. I was there this past Saturday (Saturday after Christmas) and the guy who worked behind the counter who checked out my items was wearing t-shirt and sweatpants. Since when sweat pants are appropriate work attire? He even had a key band around his arm, which made me guess he was the store manager or shift supervisor. If that was the case, it was even worse. He also charged me wrong for the item. He scanned the wrong bar code on the item. When I complained, he refunded me in cash when I paid with a credit card. At that point, I didn't feel like purchasing stuff from this store. So I went back to the line and returned that very item that I just bought. Another guy processed my return and did not give me the correct refunded money. I called him out and he was so rude about it. I give credit when credit is due. The lady manning the dressing room was pleasant and say hi to me as I walked by. She also dressed very professionally in an all black shirt and pants outfit. But that one positive note could not compensate the unprofessionalism at the check out line. The selection was poor. The store had so many empty space. I guess I am spoiled by the Marshall's in Dallas where professional, competent and pleasant employees usually provided a great shopping experience. If you do shop at this location, just pay close attention to the register's screen to make sure you are charged the right price and refunded the right amount. read more

This place is disgusting! Probably the worst restroom I have ever seen that was not in a fast food restaurant! You can tell a lot about how good the manager is by the restrooms and this guy should be fired for sure! I am sure there is a morning checklist that they are pencil whipping, but how is it allowed to get this bad?!! read more
