I think this is a pretty good Marshall's! I've found a lot of cute stuff here. Lots of shoes that rotate styles quickly, some nice jeans, and a large dress sections. It's not the biggest one I've been to, but for its size I really like it. They also have a free parking lot that connects to a DSW and Michael Crafts as well. They have a nice home good area in the back with cute decorations and candles. They also have a nice selection of Chicago sports clothing which is super nice! read more

Eh... it's true that this place is in disarray, but it's Marshall's... what can we expect. They do sometimes have great home goods; i've managed a few decent purses and hats as well, but it could certainly be improved. I go here from time to time, since it is close to DSW as well as Michael's. The selection of clothes is not great, especially for XS and petite women, but if you are patient, which I am, you can walk away with an amazing find - French Connection dress, I am looking at you beautiful! My mother died of Alzheimer's disease, and watching her slowly fade away was a painful experience. That's what this Marshall's is like. Though never upscale, it used to be a place where you could find some good deals. Now, they might as well just get rid of the racks and throw all the merchandise on the floor, since that's where it ends up. Another reviewer says this store has "a lot f menswear and professional clothing." (Granted, it's an older review.) If menswear is a couple of racks of sports coats, then she's right. The men's department is now one sad little corner of the store. To be fair, I occasionally find some good cooking and service stuff (plates, utensils) here for less than half what I would pay at Crate and Barrel. But it's barely worth the trip. read more

Though I'm overall a fan of Marshall's, this location in particular is a bit too ghetto for me. I was followed by a hoodrat towards the shoe section. He kept yelling, "excuse me, excuse me" until finally arriving at the shoe section, where he threw a shoe at me. I immediately walked over to two employees who were standing around talking to eachother by the entrance (which is right by the shoe section.) When I told them some random guy had followed me around and thrown a shoe at me, I was told to walk over to another section of the store while they "call somebody" to take care of it. Needless to say, they did NOTHING about it. I watched from the other side of the store as they stood around, calling no one. The people who work here are totally apathetic about their customers. Marshall's will NEVER be a Nordstrom - I think we can all agree on that. If you are looking for a super classy shopping experience, you should know better than to come here. However, I love me some Marshall's. I like to run and work out, and even though Lulu Lemon stuff is great, I'd rather not blow $500 on a few pairs of yoga pants. This location has a ton of quality exercise gear - pants, tops, shorts, sports bras - for a really great price (last weekend I bought a nice - and cute - pair of bike short for 8 bucks). Why blow 40 bucks at Sports Authority on basically the same thing? I have also found some nice tops and dresses here. I actually found a top for like $20 that I ended up wearing to a job interview. They have quite a few maxi and sun dresses that are reasonable as well. As for pants, I never find anything that fits me and is attractive, it's generally one or the other. My boyfriend has found a lot of nice men's pants and shorts there, though. Outside of clothing, we have bought some furniture, bedding, and other home decor at Marshall's. It depends on when you go, but they usually have a decent selection of candles, frames and other decor. I also bought a set of six nice drinking glasses for under $10 (that was three or four months ago, and we still have them all in good shape!). I have bought plenty of other random things at this location too - headphones, a phone case, sunglasses, spices and barbecue sauce (I know, super weird) - all ending up working out great! The only thing that I would say is if you are looking for women's shoes or purses, I have been unimpressed with what they have at this particular store. No, Marshall's is not a super tidy, organized or attractive store. However, if you are patient and spend the time to look through things, I can guarantee you will find something you realize you needed and get it at a good price. read more

Customer service and the cleanliness of the store every time I go there and the lady in the fitting room name Anna Was so helpful to me today find some sweat parts and a jacket that was my style and she even took the time to let me know how it looked on me she gave me excellent service. I have a love-hate relationship with Marshalls. Sometimes you come here and hit the jackpot but mostly you spend at least an hour in here and walk out feeling like you've...well...wasted an hour. The store seems to have a variety of choices for women and Men clothing. The store is big and some-what organized compared to other Marshalls. I like the fact that they close at 9:30 on a Saturday! They are conveniently located and accessible through local bus. The prices are not really that "low" as they advertise, not sure if their material is good quality for what it cost. read more

This is a good Marshalls in a convenient location to the Belmont CTA stops, as well as the Clark and Halsted bus routes. Their selection of women's clothing is fantastic and they usually have a good furniture selection as well. They are also conveniently located close to DSW, Michael's, and Sports Authority. read more

By comparison of other marshals the selection of this one is rather meh. I found what I was looking for which was a bathmat but found no more than 5 to choose from. Overall their home section was shabby at best. The clothes section (for men) was decent but nothing to rave about. If it weren't for the convenient location I wouldn't bother going back. read more

I have been coming to this Marshalls for over 6 years. the fact that they have free parking is a huge plus, although you can sometimes wait 15 min for the elevator on a busy day. this has one of the best selection of high end designer items that I have ever seen. The one downside though is that the checkout lines can sometimes be downright insane, think 100 people and not enough cashiers. That is why I just couldnt give 5 stars. I have had occasions where I had to just drop my stuff and leave because of the lines. I will continue to come back in search of the next great deal. read more

I had to write about how outstanding the employees are. I rarely experience customer service like this while shopping at stores like these (tj maxx, Ross,) I felt like I was in a Nordstrom with how friendly these employees were. I am a HUGE fan of TJ Maxx so I was excited to finally live close to a Marshall's. While I found the selection at the closest TJ Maxx to be pretty decent, I was extremely disappointed with the selection at Marshall's. While the clothing section was a decent size, there was almost no professional clothes and the casual clothes they did have seemed much lower quality and less stylish than at the nearby TJ. The home goods section was decent which is the only reason I'm giving this store three stars. read more

This place is very cheap and they have some cool clothes. Downside, there shoe selection (for mens) is pretty weak and low. I also could not find any gloves, beanies, or scarves. I would go for jeans and casual wear as that is there best selection. Also, if its busy and you need to use the changing room, sometimes it can be a pain waiting for someone to let you in. I had a bad experience with the "Returns" person who denied my wish for an exchange. She has no customer service skills, continually frowned and implied I was trying to cheat the store by claiming that the pants I was returning weren't purchased there, based on a numerical code on the receipt. The fact is, I did purchase that item and brought in the actual receipt. I received an apology from corporate headquarters, but still will never set foot in any Marshal's store. read more

I guess this is just not my place to shop. This was perhaps my fifth or sixth time here buying nothing. Admittedly, I'm not much of a shopper because I don't have a lot of patience with it, and I'm pretty focused in looking for particular items. So if I don't find them, I leave and look elsewhere. This time I was looking for a sweater. I could not believe how many sweaters there were in the $80.00 - 200.00. range, There was even a Fendi "marked down" from $600 to $299. I'm the kind of person who comes to a Marshall's or TJMaxx for the $24.95 sweater. All I can say is there must have been a huge cashmere slaughter somewhere, since there were plenty of those. I know there is some value in getting the designer stuff, but how many people go to Marshall's to spend $100-200 on one item? I'd rather go to the Boul Mich if I could afford that, and have a tony shopping bag to keep next to me at Gibson's when I have my post-shopping martooni. It's back to Tar-Zhay pour moi. read more

I was robbed inside the store. They took my wallet with all my credit/ debits cards and documents. The manager was nice and said they would review the camera recordings the next day, but it's been 4 days and I haven't heard back despite several telephone attempts. I feel like a felon or something in this location. There are always security guards and clerks milling around the area in front of the escalator, and I have to walk through a whole cloud of them before looking at "discount" fifty dollar umbrellas. The majority of the sales floor is taken up by designer luggage sets and hand painted garden furniture. The sheets are all mismatched and super-expensive, but not very cute. The cooking section is terrible; I left the aisle checking for pasta-strainer shrapnel in my leg. And the whole time I'm wandering through the crummy aisles, a clerk follows me, not offering to help, but just making me feel weird. I'm not a threatening looking person. I look like the kind of gal who would drop a hundred dollars on a repro Victorian footstool (though I never would). So why the stare down? I've had better luck at garage sales. read more

So I usually read before I go...Didn't think it would make that big of a deal...I mean it is Marshall right? Or is it Sax or possibly the Louis store? Seriously, I felt like a bum that had just walked into a store on Rodeo Dr. or something when I needed help in this place. Even the manager was a jerk...a very tall unwomanly jerk.. I had my 2 year kid with me and she needed to go to the restroom. I asked her if they had one, she just pointed in a direction, she failed to inform me that I needed to get buzzed in. Did she expect us to go on the floor or something! Luckily there was someone else nearby to call for the buzz but he wasn't much better...As I read the reviews below, I see that customer service just isn't there thing here...Yes they have great finds but they are ALL complete JACKHOLES! Is it because of the neighborhood? Who knows...maybe they are upset about the pay...they should look on the bright side...there is a recession and they all have jobs.....whewwww will I be back...Methinks NOT! I recently bought a bed set from this location and found that it was infected with bed bugs and now I have bites all over me. I have a 3 month old son that I sometimes have him sleep in the bed with me. I'm concerned that they may have laid eggs on my mattress n I will have to purchase a new bed. read more

My GF and I have been avid shoppers at this location. It's within walking distance and she frequents twice a week. Unfortunately, this past Friday she had a terrible experience there. At the layaway counter she placed her phone on the counter and walked away after finishing her business not realizing she forgot it. She went to the restroom and noticed that she left her phone back at the counter and returned within 3 minutes. The employee at the counter and the customer had no idea what she was talking about. Yet the entire time we called her phone it was on then whoever had it turned it off and back on again. We talked to the manager there and over the phone and asked if he could review the footage from the camera which was aimed directly at the counter. He said he couldn't do that unless the police were there. We quickly called 911 to file a report. The police arrived and asked to see the footage, of course the manager (Steve) now stated that the person who operates the security cameras isn't there anymore. The manager's attitude throughout this experience was that he could care less. We have also filed a complaint with corporate. read more
