Rise and Shine took care of my issue and I started to discuss my old, very loud, chain driven garage door opener. The repair person was Dan Deluka, who after the service call, took the time to update me on the advancement of garage door openers in the last 20 years (the age of my opener) and what I would gain by replacing my old, noisy opener. I want to stress that I was one who asked to be educated; it was not a case of Dan trying to sell me an opener after the service call for the door. Dan did a great job of explaining the options and the improvements made since my old opener was installed. In the end, I decided upon a model. Dan was able to install it in a very short amount of time and I was completely satisfied with both the product and the installation. I have found that, although Rise and Shine isn't the least expensive option, it's a company that stands behind their products and services. This means a lot and it's the type of integrity and customer service that is very rare these days. I confidently recommend this company and the management that runs the company.

Things I didn't like: * Sloppy service person - Oil/penetrate sprayed with poor control and oversprayed onto the painted wall behind. Smudges of grease also on wall and other surfaces the technician touched. He could have been a good deal more careful considering that I asked him to be careful. * As I found out after the technician was gone, the new spring was shorter than the previous spring. I suspect this will result in a shorter life as the smaller spring is carrying the same load adding more stress to the spring. It is this point that has me writing this review and giving the worst rating. These people should at least get the parts correct. * Too much spring tension. I adjusted later because the technician had trouble understanding why the door would not close all the way. * Overpriced. My bad and a risk I understood. They provided a range of prices for the springs and then gouged me. I could have saved about $100 going with one of the places I called earlier that provided a firm quote but could not respond as quickly. * The technician wore no eye safety gear. This did not occur to me at the time but it is a big deal in the garage door repair online community. If the guy got hurt on my property I have liability. Stupid for him. Stupid for me. So why not call them back and have them put in the right spring? Who am I to argue with the professionals? I can't recall the last time a home service business took pride in their work and redid work that cost them time and money. Why argue with them and take on that stress? By watching the repair, I learned how to do the repair. The online community provides excellent advice and instructions on how to do it yourself. The parts are not that expensive and easy to find. I now have spare parts and tools on order to have on hand next time a spring breaks.

We certainly don't like to be "those people" and aren't looking to find issues out of nothing. The very last issue we had was another manufacturer issue to the door (small dents) and what we also thought was an installation issue due to a couple of the problems we saw with the chain/ door operation. We called on the Friday prior to Memorial Day and since our door is still under warranty, was able to get a no-cost appointment made with a technician for the Tuesday following Memorial Day. On Tuesday the technician was due to show between 8am and 10am. We both took the morning off work so we could be present to address the concerns with the technician. Unfortunately it started to creep up into the 10am hour and no technician had showed yet - a bit frustrating. So we called Precision Door and they ensured someone would be out to assist. Jason Schuster was the Install Manager who ended up showing to address our concerns. He was absolutely phenomenal. From the time he took to listen to our concerns and address each one with us, to the "above and beyond" steps to ensure our satisfaction and issues were addressed. He even performed an installation to sturdy our door and help ease our fears and concerns - something that fell out of the install teams hands but because he knew what to do, he took the time and did it. Jason was extremely thorough with his reasoning and brought factual education to the table to ensure we understood the product we purchased and how to know when it's a manufacturers issue verse installation issue, and so forth. He was great, I'd hands down recommend him as and Install Manager and is an extremely ethical individual who takes pride in his work. Jason made a positive impact to my husband and I, and also changed our perspective on the company Precision Door as a whole.
