Our guide, Chris, was knowledgeable of the local salt marsh, wildlife, and history of bluffton. We enjoyed our paddle down to the old town public dock and looped back down the may river. We saw dolphins, various coastal bird species, and other various marine and salt marsh life. We taken plenty of tours and felt Chris went the extra mile- providing waters, thick towels for cooling our necks, and was even was so kind as to let us use her binoculars! PS - She's a great photographer! 2) We also did a boat cruise and tubing tour with Captain Hunter as we had several friends join us day 2. He was also a great captain and guide - knowledgable, funny, and very understanding of the various comfort levels with participating in tubing on the may river. Mermaid Nina's friend, Pinky Plankton, guided us on a lovely boat ride to search for Nina. Pinky made the ride fun - interacting with the children, and educated us all about how to protect our oceans. The boat ride was an hour and fifteen minutes. The perfect amount of time for young children. The boat is comfortable and holds approximately 20 to 25 people. Once Nina was found, she stayed in character the entire time. Even when the evil Professor Al G tried to kidnap her. Nina explained how to protect the ocean and encouraged questions from children and adults too. When I was scheduling this excursion, I thought it was a little pricey, but after the experience was over (and watching how much fun my daughter had) I changed my mind and realized it was worth every penny! We took this boat ride to meet Nina over a month ago and my daughter is still talking about it! Highly recommend!

I think Dolphin Adventures is a bit of a misnomer. Yes we saw dolphins close up a mother and her kids but the highlights was the ecology of the area. We learned about how everything works together in this environment , sat right over and oyster bed and learned the history of oyster farming. Viewed homes from the water and learned their stories and history. Captain John pointed out more bird species than I suspect most people see on a birding tour. The two hours went by so quickly we were sad to see the tour end. If we return to Beaufort we definite would take another adventure with Captain John. If you only do one thing in Beaufort take this tour. It was one of the highlights of our two week swing through Beaufort Savannah and Charleston. Not to be missed!!!!

Finding him and the boat was easy and he was ready to go. We took advantage of the cooler on board and thanks for the blanket because it did get cold once the sun set. We learned a lot about the Savannah waterways and history but at the same time we also got to just sit and take in the incredible sunset and dolphins. You can tell he just loves doing this! PS we loved his music taste too :-)
