If you ever find yourself in this part of the country, it is definitely worth popping in here for some lunch! *Pro tip: It sounded like they get very booked up in the evening, so ring ahead to ensure you get a table!!

Two of our party had bruschetta for starters and absolutely loved it . Main courses of salmon , beef and lamb were consumed with much enthusiasm and were rated very highly indeed. Bread and butter sticky toffee pudding was out of this world. Coffees were accompanied by oohs and arrs so I can only assume that they were superb. It's run by Ifan and Amelie, with much of the lamb served in the restaurant farmed on the surrounding land by Ifan's brother. Downstairs is a lounge area, with the main seating area upstairs. I've always been in a big group every time I've been here and can attest that it's a great venue for friends and families. The food is largely local and seasonal. It's reasonably priced and there's a good selection. I've never had any complaints about the service.

The drink prices are pretty normal really, rather reasonable and food-wise it actually has an award-winning chef at the helm. The restaurant is kind of separate but it's still perfectly acceptable to grab a few beverages and take them through with you. There's plenty of choice and everyone is well catered for, including vegetarians, plus the desserts are really something else and everything is truly homemade. Both times that we came, the food was bursting with delicious, fresh flavors. The halloumi fries had the squeaky bite they're known for. The fish and chips had a light and crispy batter and flaky fish. The cheese and potato pie was creamy comfort. Both of these dishes were recommended and ordering twice. The steak sandwich was tender and meaty. Desserts were sweet, satisfying, and left us all feeling quite content after the savoriness of our meals. We had the same server both times and she was fantastic! She was friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything plus any extras that were needed. It's got to be said that the view here is phenomenal! The Corn Mill hangs above the River Dee, which gives spectacular views. The patio area makes one feel like they're floating above the river, while the dining room's spacious windows give a full view. Service was a little hit or miss. And the food was ok, but some of the order was messed up..ie "is there lettuce n tomatoes in the burger?" Answer, was yes and there wasn't any. I ordered one of their specialised hanging kebabs, which was a cute novel idea, I have never seen that before. A good effort, but maybe more for a drink?
