    Hotel double full beds
    Johanna F.

Always love a Marriott, this one is in a great location near the nice uptown area of Albuquerque that has a multitude of shops and food/restaurants. Check in was quick and easy, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. Seemed like they had a fair amount of security present which was nice but I'm not sure if something was going on or if that's normal in this area. The hotel is clean overall and the rooms were perfect. The pool is nice and has an outdoor and indoor area. Only small issue is they did not have our king bed we booked and we had the double beds instead. Other than that have no complaints, would definitely stay again!

Beautiful older hotel which was remodeled. They gave me a really nice room with a view of the mountains and I even saw the New Mexico balloons early morning from my window. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They also had cool indoor/outdoor pool. I enjoyed my stay here. The only minor thing is that when they made the bed for some reason it looked unmade still and I think it's probably because of the type of sheet they were using.

Stayed two nights on the weekend. Got a room with two double beds to stay with our daughter and her fiancée for a weekend trip. Marriott is the higher end of the brand's hotel so I expect more. Double beds are too small, they should offer double QUEEN SIZE beds. We came Friday night and left Monday morning and the concierge lounge is CLOSED. I have stayed at other Marriott hotels where with your room key you can go in the lounge and grab drinks is and snacks. Here if it is not during STAFF HOURS you can't go in! Really sucks when you are TITANIUM with the brand and can't use your benefits! No reason not to allow key card access 24/7.

Quick check in process and the parking lot is open and not covered. Dang wr had to walk up a little hill. Lol. Accommodations were great. Nice and clean and we were right by the Concierge Lounge. We were able to grab breakfast and snacks during the day. Whew!!! Lol. Highly recommend.

One example of mildew in the shower. It was also visible under the plastic protectors on the shower doors.

The hotel is a filthy pit with poorly trained frontline staff. I understand that hotels see a lot of hard use. But what I saw at this property were housekeeping staff who aren't given enough time to clean rooms properly. From the dust covered wall art in the bathroom to the mildew in the shower to the filth covering the intake for the air conditioning unit, the rooms screamed of neglect. Several colleagues changed rooms due to problems including ants and with dog urine which was ignored. The front desk manager, Ryan, could care less but it would be very difficult since his professionalism is minimal to begin with. He's not solution oriented probably because all the hotels sell out during the balloon fiesta. His rude and dismissive his attitude was reflected by many of his direct reports. Someone on his team released packages that were in my name to a colleague who ran into in the lobby discussing the extra boxes that weren't hers with a third person. I only mention it because it high lights the lack of professionalism exhibited by the front desk.

I came to stay here for work and while the location was convenient, that was the only positive. I arrived late due to multiple flight delays and 8 hours of travel starving. The hotel didn't have a restaurant, gift shop OR vending machine. Nothing. I expect a Marriott chain to offer SOMETHING to its guests. I went to check in and was not recognized for being Bonvoy or offered any water etc. My room was across from an ice machine that must've been having seizures because it was literally shaking the entire floor and causing the loudest racket. Then the AC screen was broken so you have no way to change the temp or even know what the temp is in the room. I plugged my phone into the outlet and went to bed only to wake up and realize I had missed my alarm and over slept for work because the electrical outlet was BROKEN and didn't work. The room was dirty and outdated with popcorn ceilings. I emailed the manager and never got any response so obviously this hotel does not care about its customers or keeping this location up to date.

Beautiful Christmas tree and other holiday decorations in lobby.

When we walked onto the patio and took in those sweeping views of the Sandias, I was ready to love this place. Los Poblanos has all the ingredients of a truly special dining experience: a gorgeous setting, a thoughtful farm-to-table ethos, and a menu that promises something above the ordinary. Which is exactly why the evening's annoying missteps were so disappointing. Service was well intentioned but unpolished. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and, at times, unfamiliar with the menu -- a problem when guests are asking genuine questions about the food and wine. We ordered bread which came before our drinks were served. Wine service was inconsistent. I ordered an Albariño by the glass - 6 oz. My sister ordered the Cabernet listed on the menu as a recommended pairing for her entrée, priced at $11. After we placed our drink orders, the waiter returned to inform her that the menu price was incorrect -- the wine was actually $18. She agreed to proceed. He then asked whether she wanted "a half glass or a full glass," which is an oddly imprecise question at a restaurant whose menu specifies pours in 3, 6, and 9 oz increments. She said half glass. What arrived was 3 oz of wine in a small serving carafe, which the waiter simply poured into her glass -- no bottle presented, no taste offered. My own Albariño, by contrast, was brought to the table in the bottle with a proper taste before pouring. The disparity in service between the two of us was striking. A simple, clear statement -- "3 oz of this wine is $18, not $11; would you still like it?" -- would have resolved everything cleanly. Instead, the vague "half or full glass" framing left my sister without the information she needed to make an informed choice. For what it's worth, the wine itself was extraordinarily tannic -- borderline undrinkable -- and I would have sent it back. My nephew ordered a top shelf whiskey. The waiter told him "we don't have that". My nephew said "it's on your menu" to which the waiter responded "oh, let me check on that". There seemed to be too many instances of the waiter running back to the bar to check on stuff. Anyway, it was available. The waiter apologized. We ordered the bread which was served before our drinks arrived. Food took about an hour which is fine - I don't have an issue with that but during that time we never saw the waiter again. I ordered the soup of the day - potato and leek which was delicious. Followed by the blackberry salad, which was my main course. Both arrived simultaneously, with the salad placed in front of me and the soup set to the side as an afterthought. At a restaurant at this price point, the expectation that soup precedes salad is not an eccentricity -- it is simply correct service. When I expressed my surprise, the servers seemed genuinely puzzled, which suggests this may be a training gap rather than an isolated incident. As for the salad itself -- it was pleasant, but pleasant is not enough here. The blackberry salad was the kind of thing you might enjoy at a well-run casual chain: competently assembled, inoffensive, and forgettable. At a farm-to-table restaurant with access to exceptional local ingredients, I expect the plate to reflect that -- more intentional presentation, more layered flavors, something that is more elevated than what was presented. This one didn't. The gap between the setting and what landed on the table was wider than it should have been. My sister and nephews ordered the filet mignon and rib eye. Both arrived pre-sliced -- a presentation trend that has made its way into fine dining, though one that divides opinion. My concern, beyond personal preference, is practical: sliced meat loses heat faster, and at roughly $80 per entrée, guests should receive their steak in the condition that best showcases it. The quality was good, not exceptional. Los Poblanos is a restaurant with genuine promise and a setting that few can match. The concept is right; the execution needs work. The issues I encountered -- inconsistent wine service, course sequencing, and a discombobulated waiter-- are not kitchen problems. They are fixable. I hope the restaurant takes that seriously, because the bones here are excellent and the experience should be too.

I drive up Lomas past the Garden Center all the time but I only recently read the sign and decided to look up what it was. Behind all the trees, there is a little Albuquerque gem. I looked up their website and read all about a plant sale they had going on. I got two cute little plants and was excited to see the space. The actual gardens were closed when I went but I want to go back to check them out. I would also definitely go back for another plant sale, the prices were great and they had some fun stuff to choose from. One note, the parking is terrible when they are super busy. I doubt that they are super busy too often, probably only for events and such but when it is, getting in and out is a huge pain.

But when it came time for taking pictures, the staff let us and some of our guests take photos in the garden. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. They made for a beautiful backdrop for our photos. Although it was not open on the weekends, there is a garden shop that sells fun garden themed items. There is a small courtyard in the front which also makes for good pictures. What's interesting is that the building itself doesn't look that special as I would drive past it every day and wouldn't have known about it if wasn't for the sign. It's a great hidden gem in the middle of Albuquerque and was a very nice venue to have a wedding.
