Off the old Route 66. Love this place. Clean rooms, very clean bathrooms. Got the queen suite so I could stay on the ground floor. The bathroom had a curved shower rod and nice thick shower curtain and a heat lamp. Microwave and refrigerator. The windows don't open in the rooms they are sealed shut perhaps for security, but the air conditioner works great. High quality valet to place your luggage on, huge 70in large screen TV with plenty of satellite channels. The lady who runs the place Kay is delightful, greets you with a good smile. Plenty of parking.

Usually stay at the overpriced Holiday Inn or Marriott where the cleaning has been hit or miss. So we decided to try this for a cheaper price but honestly the stay was better than expected. The owner was super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were super clean. There was even electric charging for cars. Definitely would stay at this place again. Must try for the price and quality!

Friendly staff. Spotless rooms. Not too much more to add, but just wanted to emphasize what a pleasure it was to stay at this small but excellent motel. Thanks Sandia Peak Inn!!

It may not be the fanciest hotel with a big name, but it was hands down one of the best stays I've ever had anywhere. The staff was incredibly friendly, the property is cute, and most of all, it was clean! The continental breakfast was amazing. Waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, juice, and coffee! Just right. Not too much and not too little. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept well. Almost too well! Had a hard time pulling myself out of bed. There was a mini fridge, microwave, TV, desk area, ice bucket, etc. It suited our needs perfect and there was plenty of places to eat dinner at near by. If I'm ever in Albuquerque again, this is where I will be staying 100%.

My 94-yr-old friend and I stayed just one night and the hotel is very nice, although a little run down. Freshening up would help. But the young woman at the front desk couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Her whole attitude was happy and fun and she really cared about our comfort. Whatever we needed, she was ready to help.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this place! Super clean and easy to find! The views aren't bad either! I love the whole vibe of this place. The staff are super super friendly and accommodating! If you are passing through, be sure to call ahead because with a gem like this, the rooms are sure to book fast! Thank you Sandia Peak for being our home away from home!

THE TACO BUS

This place was great. Don't judge a book by its cover. There is a gate around the front and it is on Route 66, that being said: 1. We expected noise due to facing route 66 - it was quiet. 2. It had FREE electric charging stations two- someone was parked in one space that was not electric, but the other worked fine. 3. The Taco Bus just a five minute walk from the motel- excellent Mexican food. 4. My wife forgot her earings ( very small ones) on the base of the desk light. We called the man who runs the place, he looked and called us back, but could not find it. We called again and asked if we could look. They were sitting right in the same place that my wife left them. He was extremely helpful. 5. The room was clean. 6. Staff very helpful We stayed here in May 2022, but forgot to post the review

Thanks for the charge. We love this hotel. No pets, no smoking and no nasty carpet! Will stay again!

The front desk attendant was very nice and offered me some Halloween candy after I got my room key. As I walked to my room I noticed that the room doors were painted white and the scuff marks from luggage hitting the doors were noticeable. The room was nice and had a separate living room, small kitchen, and decent sized couch. The bed was king sized, comfy, and plenty of pillows. My pups likes his pillows. This is a nice hotel, but you can tell it's tailored towards the blue collar individuals who work hard and has long stays. I didn't try the complimentary breakfast served at 6 am to 9 am even though I was up and walking the dog but I did get a coffee and it was good. I did utilize the gym and it was really nice! It had plenty of weights and several new treadmills with TV's attached, and cycle machines. They also had a full sized pool if you wanted to do swimming laps. I'm giving this a 4 star based off the gym, front desk attendant kindness, and room cleanliness. If they repainted the scuffed doors the score could go higher. This was a good stop and if you need a rest stay here.

The property itself is beautiful and expansive, sits on Tamayame land, and at the outset of the conference a member of the Native American tribe welcomed us and shared about the land and setting. The property has with multiple event spaces, an on-site trail, a large gym, and several pools. It is a fairly large resort (our room was at one end, so it was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main lobby area). Each day began with a large breakfast buffet, and lunch was similarly well done. One of the highlights was being able to sit outside during meals at large tables overlooking the grounds, mountains, trees, and fresh air made for a really peaceful setting. For breakfast, I enjoyed the red/green chilies chilaquiles (New Mexican style breakfast), it was very flavorful and I enjoyed trying but was very spicy/heavy. From a conference and events perspective, the resort is very impressive. There is a large main conference room with a stage, and the room can accommodate over 100 people (at round tables), along with many smaller breakout rooms. Over two evenings, we attended events at different venues on the property, one about a 10-minute walk away (with hotel mini-bus transportation available), and another closer to the main area under a tent. The more distant venue was quite large and set apart, likely used for weddings and larger celebrations. That evening included a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and multiple bar setups. The second evening closer to the main hotel was a seated dinner under a tent, with music and performances in a more contained setting. There is also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby, as well as another more casual restaurant by the pool. Given time constraints, I was not able to fully take advantage of all the amenities (including the spa, horseback riding, and longer trail walks), but I would absolutely recommend this property. It is incredibly scenic, serene, and feels immersed in nature, and I would gladly return.

Beautiful, classic New Mexican architecture surrounded by desert and mountain views. The grounds are beautiful with options for biking (included), tennis/pickleball, walks, horseback riding, and golf. Located about 30 minutes north of Albuquerque and 45 minutes south of Santa Fe, made it easy to spend time in either. We were able to check in early, which was so nice after an early travel morning. Our room was large and included the classic hotel amenities, including waters. We were staying slightly during the off season, so two pools were open, which was fine as it wasn't that busy and it didn't get hot until about noon. Due to the location of the resort, it is easiest to eat at the property and there are a couple of options available: The Corn Maiden - nicer dining experience, Santa Ana Cafe - casual sit-down, Rio Grande Lounge - bar and bites, and Plaza - pool cafe. During our visit the Plaza pool restaurant was only open on Saturday. We tried in-room dining for breakfast one morning, as we were up early, the eggs had little to no flavor, and a couple of our items were forgotten/late. Not a huge deal as we understood they were training a lot of staff during the time of our stay. Overall, the food throughout all the dining options was just okay, and if there were more dining options close by, I would probably go there. The restaurants all tasted the same and there didn't seem to be much variety. It would be nice if at least one of the dining options was a different kind of cuisine to bring some variety. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the staff was so friendly and helpful. There are plenty of activities to do at the resort and we loved that they had nightly s'mores. The room was great, but food could be better.

On a busy convention night, the dining room was packed, yet the energy felt festive rather than frantic. Thanks to a well-timed reservation, my party settled in comfortably despite the initial blast of aggressive air-conditioning--a smart move after last week's heat, though the growing crowd of happy diners soon brought the room to a more pleasant temperature. Service was excellent from the start. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, a supervisor, and our server, setting a tone of genuine care that never wavered. The pacing was near-perfect: attentive without hovering, with drinks refreshed proactively and plates cleared at just the right moments. To begin, I ordered the green chile beef stew. It arrived promptly, hot and deeply flavorful, with tender beef and that signature New Mexican green chile heat that lingers just enough to wake up the palate. For my birthday libation, the S'mores Old Fashioned was a delightful twist--smoky, sweet, and dangerously smooth. The entrées showed Char's Southwestern strengths. The enchiladas were deeply comforting, while the carne asada arrived perfectly grilled with robust flavor. Both were elevated by the bright, creamy Mexican Street Corn on the side--charred kernels, cotija, and a hint of lime that cut through the richness beautifully. We closed the evening with the new arroz con leche from the updated dessert menu. Warm, cinnamon-kissed rice pudding topped with a generous scoop of cinnamon ice cream proved to be the ideal sweet finale--comforting yet refined, with contrasting temperatures that made every bite exciting. From the thoughtful service to the consistent execution of both classics and new offerings, Char once again proved why it's a go-to spot for special occasions. If you're in Albuquerque and want elevated NM dining, Char meets the need.

We pulled up to the front entrance where a sign clearly said Check-In Parking, yet were told we could not leave the car and had to valet or park in the garage. We weren't even allowed to step inside to check in, which made things unnecessarily awkward. As we just wanted to check in run a grab a bite to eat down the street as we just drove 7 hours. The hotel itself is very nice and interesting -- it's one of the first Hilton hotels built from the ground up, which is pretty cool. The room was a highlight. Spacious, clean, and well designed with a beautiful large soaking tub, separate shower, and a great layout overall. Morning coffee service was disappointing 2 of they days we stayed -- coffee was out then tea was missing the next, and no water bottles were replaced in our room after housekeeping, so we couldn't make our own in theroom. Dinner at Char did not meet expectations, especially for the price. Our medium-rare steaks came out well done, and although we mentioned it, nothing was done to fix it. We had a party there a couple nights later and it was buffet style. Our steak was way better in that and I hate buffets. That said, Jarod at the bar was great we had a few drinks with him through the nights we stayed and he was out bartender at the party we hosted he was one of the highlights of the staff that we came across. Lastly, the surrounding area felt pretty sketchy at night. Some positives, but enough frustrations that it impacted our stay.

Because the service we attended was later in the afternoon on a Saturday, they were kind enough to give us an extra late checkout so we could change there and head out without having to wander around and find a place to change closer to the service. I very much appreciated that kindness! Their free breakfast was nice. I preferred the sausage over their bacon. They also had good breakfast tea. They didn't have any non dairy milk but they did have vanilla non dairy creamer packets. It is also well located next to Green Jeans, an indoor/outdoor food court, so we walked over there to meet a local friend for lunch one of the days we were there. The mountain views were lovely from outside of the hotel. Their big sign was broken/torn and their gym equipment needed to be updated or fixed. I think one of the treadmills was broken but luckily no one else was there so I was able to use the one working one. I was advised not to walk outside in the morning by myself due to safety reasons so I was glad to have the treadmill accessible for one day. Another friend picked me up another morning to drive us to a trail area for more scenic and safe walking.

I really like that parking is included and not an extra charge like some hotels. We were located near a Target and lots of restaurants as well. Our room was located on the 12th floor and it was busy as the last ever Gathering of Nations was taking place at the fairgrounds. The employees whom helped us were very nice and efficient and checked up on us with a phone call once we got settled in our room. As for the room itself, it was perfect for what we needed. We had a great view of the city. The only cons we had was the HVAC system was not working properly. The room was very stuffy and no matter what temp we lowered it to (went all the way down to 60) the A/C did not kick in). The fan was working but not blowing any cold air (the hallway's A/C was working). I reported it to the front desk upon check out. The other item was the shower's knobs were located on the opposite side of the shower head and I had never seen that before. It was very awkward as the glass sliding door does not open on the side with the shower head. I felt that it was unsafe as you turn on the water but cannot feel the temp of the water cause it is on the other side. Talk to the front desk who claim they had a request for a single bed on my reservation. Why would I pay extra for 2 beds to end up asking for 1? Then they say it's because I chose "first come first serve" at check in. What does that even mean? Why wouldn't I get the room I RESERVED? Then they offer a rollaway bed. No apology, acknowledgement of the mess up, or offer for reimbursement of the difference in price. I said I'd prefer a room with the 2 beds I paid for as I had my 4 month old son and my 63 year old mother. They said they were sold out, which means they sold my 2 bed room to someone else. Then they say they can't refund me because I booked through a 3rd party and would have to go through them. So I did. They had to contact the hotel on my behalf and the supervisor offered restaurant vouchers... Which I didn't take. Still no apology or acknowledgement of the mess up and no real solution. I won't name his name, but the guy that checked me in and that I talked to about the issue was completely unhelpful, unfriendly, and could not have cared less at what was going on. Not to mention 3 of the 4 elevators were malfunctioning/not operating at check in during an extremely busy weekend, and our AC unit barely kept the room cool enough to not sweat when turned all the way on high at the lowest temperature. Definitely will never stay here again when there is a Hilton and Sheraton right up the street. I do not recommend, at all. Also adding to this that I discovered I have a $32 charge on my card from them when I purchased nothing there and only gave my card for the deposit. Just an awful ran hotel.
