KID FRIENDLY!!! - The image shows a Google business profile for Route 66 Casino Hotel, listing services, amenities, and accessibility features in Albuquerque, NM.

Avoid this place. NO RESPECT FOR MILITARY FAMILIES OR CUSTOMERS. Kicked us out late night in freezing cold with 6 month old baby 5 min after we checked in. Literally the worst costumer service who can't take a proper reservation over the phone. Yelp website literally states " Kid Friendly" for hotel and Casino. My Military daughter, my 6 month old Grandson are driving relocating from Missouri to California. As we were trying to get past Albuquerque we got stuck in a 3 hour roadwork delay. My grandson was screaming his head off due to being hungry and extremely exhausted. I called this hotel to ask if there's rooms available. The desk clerk asked me if anyone in our party's under 21 if so they can't be on the Casino floor. I said yes, we have an infant but he will not be on casino floor that we'd been stuck in traffic and just want to go to sleep. My daughter went in paid for room gets the key then goes outside to grab items to take in including her son. Workers started yelling at her that NO KIDS ARE ALLOWED IN HOTEL. She politely asked if she can be escorted to her room by security so she can feed and put baby to sleep. 3 other workers got involved getting loud and very rude including a big loud mouth security guard with a power trip. When my daughter asked her, how can you say one thing then go back and act like you didn't say it to save your own butt. The security guard called us liars that we never mentioned having a baby which is NOT true. My daughter begged for us to just go to sleep in hotel as we had no desire to gamble. My grandson had been screaming for almost an hour as we were stuck in traffic so we made a U-turn back up the mountain trusting the desk clerk had a room for us. When my daughter asked, is this how you treat your military families? The security guard said "oh your just a spouse" Then my daughter said that's really rude all we're trying to do is sleep having been on the road 10 hours today. The security guard had the nerve to tell my daughter, well then you should of flown home and you wouldn't had this problem. I asked for a receipt showing our payment was put back on credit card and she handed me nothing but a paper with no credit verification on it. This place is a fraud with false advertising. Employees need some sensitivity training and respect for our Military.

Marble bathroom sink. Huge TV! Super clean and comfortable bed. Has a fridge available in the rooms. Clear pool and easy access to casino attached. However, if you need a break from the kids they have onsite baby sitting!!! The kids get to play Minecraft and other video games, bounce room with indoor play set! They have food for the kids available while your gambling! Great service!

Receipt says DD Donuts, but case is Krispy Kreme.

A nice little stop to pick up some coffee, snacks or gifts. Staff were friendly enough, but lines can get long here.

After driving over 600 miles we found this wonderful gem. Even at 1am the customer service was perfect and welcoming. The room was really nice with a very comfortable bed. Lush towels with bodyworks bath products and even Starbucks coffee. The room was very clean and had tons of outlets and very nice finishes. The breakfast was super yummy and the casino is new and clean and very attractive. Really a great stop with wonderful people that work there #boazthemastiff

Hotel room goodies. Coffeemaker was a big womp though.

HOTEL REVIEW ONLY: This hotel can't be beat if you need a place to stay for the night and can't find anywhere to go (which will be the case considering the surrounding area.) First of all, the room was CLEAN and new. You can tell they recently renovated the rooms, which was also apparent from the ongoing construction (and it was of no bother. Scheduled to be finished at the end of June 2015.) The most important aspect of a place to stay, to us, is the bathroom. The bathroom was *pristine* and had Bath & Body Works soaps and hair/body care included. Mouthwash was also included. Towels were typical white ones and clean. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we've slept on our entire trip thus far in the Southwest (seriously!) The room and carpet were also very clean. There was a desk, a few side tables, and a chair next to the bed. Very modern room. The coffeemaker, while equipped with Starbucks Pike Place brew, was inefficient and didn't really work. It was more by design than anything; they should probably invest in a differently designed coffeemaker. The coffee drips down the back of the coffeemaker and not into your cup and it barely brews enough to be considered a gulp of coffee. We had a non-smoking room. The only room left at the time was the handicapped room where everything was lower to the ground (but not noticeably at all) and had a bigger bathroom (yes, please.) The surrounding area outside of Route 66 Casino & Hotel is desolate, so -1 star for location. The only reason we stayed here is because there was absolutely nothing else within many miles, but we do not regret it. Our 1 night stay cost us $80 with a AAA discount. Bang for your buck indeed. (We didn't step foot in the casino so nothing to add there but note that the hotel lobby was smokey from the casino.)

    So disgusting

Affordable and Comfortable Stay Near Old Town Albuquerque - With a Few Caveats…read more We stayed at Sandia Peak Inn - Old Town ABQ (a Howard Johnson by Wyndham), and I'll start by saying this: the price was definitely right. While it's not a luxury hotel, we more than got our money's worth, and I'll give an honest, balanced review. One of the main reasons we chose this property was the availability of EV charging. They offer both a J1772 and a Tesla destination charger, with a $10 nightly fee to use them. That was a great convenience and worked without issue. We booked the accessible oversized king room, which was very spacious, nicely decorated, and included a comfortable bed. We thought it had a sofa but found a day bed instead. The room also featured a small work table and a nice easy chair--well equipped for a short stay. The parking lot is tight, with narrow spaces and limited room, but our reserved EV charging spot helped avoid problems. Breakfast was modest but acceptable. There was a waffle maker, juice machine, coffee, peanut butter (the only visible protein), various breads, jams, and some overripe bananas. Vegetarian-friendly, but not very filling. One downside we experienced was related to smoking. Although our room was non-smoking, the moment I stepped outside in the morning, someone was smoking nearby. While I don't know how frequent this is, it would be preferable if the property were entirely smoke-free, especially near room entrances. The neighborhood felt like classic Old Town Albuquerque. I didn't feel unsafe, but I wouldn't recommend walking the area late at night. The exterior of the property has been nicely styled with Southwestern décor, which adds charm despite the budget-conscious operations. In short: everything wasn't perfect, but it all worked--and for the price, we walked away satisfied.

The front desk attendant was very nice and offered me some Halloween candy after I got my room key. As I walked to my room I noticed that the room doors were painted white and the scuff marks from luggage hitting the doors were noticeable. The room was nice and had a separate living room, small kitchen, and decent sized couch. The bed was king sized, comfy, and plenty of pillows. My pups likes his pillows. This is a nice hotel, but you can tell it's tailored towards the blue collar individuals who work hard and has long stays. I didn't try the complimentary breakfast served at 6 am to 9 am even though I was up and walking the dog but I did get a coffee and it was good. I did utilize the gym and it was really nice! It had plenty of weights and several new treadmills with TV's attached, and cycle machines. They also had a full sized pool if you wanted to do swimming laps. I'm giving this a 4 star based off the gym, front desk attendant kindness, and room cleanliness. If they repainted the scuffed doors the score could go higher. This was a good stop and if you need a rest stay here.

The property itself is beautiful and expansive, sits on Tamayame land, and at the outset of the conference a member of the Native American tribe welcomed us and shared about the land and setting. The property has with multiple event spaces, an on-site trail, a large gym, and several pools. It is a fairly large resort (our room was at one end, so it was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main lobby area). Each day began with a large breakfast buffet, and lunch was similarly well done. One of the highlights was being able to sit outside during meals at large tables overlooking the grounds, mountains, trees, and fresh air made for a really peaceful setting. For breakfast, I enjoyed the red/green chilies chilaquiles (New Mexican style breakfast), it was very flavorful and I enjoyed trying but was very spicy/heavy. From a conference and events perspective, the resort is very impressive. There is a large main conference room with a stage, and the room can accommodate over 100 people (at round tables), along with many smaller breakout rooms. Over two evenings, we attended events at different venues on the property, one about a 10-minute walk away (with hotel mini-bus transportation available), and another closer to the main area under a tent. The more distant venue was quite large and set apart, likely used for weddings and larger celebrations. That evening included a buffet dinner, DJ, dancing, and multiple bar setups. The second evening closer to the main hotel was a seated dinner under a tent, with music and performances in a more contained setting. There is also a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby, as well as another more casual restaurant by the pool. Given time constraints, I was not able to fully take advantage of all the amenities (including the spa, horseback riding, and longer trail walks), but I would absolutely recommend this property. It is incredibly scenic, serene, and feels immersed in nature, and I would gladly return.

Beautiful, classic New Mexican architecture surrounded by desert and mountain views. The grounds are beautiful with options for biking (included), tennis/pickleball, walks, horseback riding, and golf. Located about 30 minutes north of Albuquerque and 45 minutes south of Santa Fe, made it easy to spend time in either. We were able to check in early, which was so nice after an early travel morning. Our room was large and included the classic hotel amenities, including waters. We were staying slightly during the off season, so two pools were open, which was fine as it wasn't that busy and it didn't get hot until about noon. Due to the location of the resort, it is easiest to eat at the property and there are a couple of options available: The Corn Maiden - nicer dining experience, Santa Ana Cafe - casual sit-down, Rio Grande Lounge - bar and bites, and Plaza - pool cafe. During our visit the Plaza pool restaurant was only open on Saturday. We tried in-room dining for breakfast one morning, as we were up early, the eggs had little to no flavor, and a couple of our items were forgotten/late. Not a huge deal as we understood they were training a lot of staff during the time of our stay. Overall, the food throughout all the dining options was just okay, and if there were more dining options close by, I would probably go there. The restaurants all tasted the same and there didn't seem to be much variety. It would be nice if at least one of the dining options was a different kind of cuisine to bring some variety. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, the staff was so friendly and helpful. There are plenty of activities to do at the resort and we loved that they had nightly s'mores. The room was great, but food could be better.

On a busy convention night, the dining room was packed, yet the energy felt festive rather than frantic. Thanks to a well-timed reservation, my party settled in comfortably despite the initial blast of aggressive air-conditioning--a smart move after last week's heat, though the growing crowd of happy diners soon brought the room to a more pleasant temperature. Service was excellent from the start. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, a supervisor, and our server, setting a tone of genuine care that never wavered. The pacing was near-perfect: attentive without hovering, with drinks refreshed proactively and plates cleared at just the right moments. To begin, I ordered the green chile beef stew. It arrived promptly, hot and deeply flavorful, with tender beef and that signature New Mexican green chile heat that lingers just enough to wake up the palate. For my birthday libation, the S'mores Old Fashioned was a delightful twist--smoky, sweet, and dangerously smooth. The entrées showed Char's Southwestern strengths. The enchiladas were deeply comforting, while the carne asada arrived perfectly grilled with robust flavor. Both were elevated by the bright, creamy Mexican Street Corn on the side--charred kernels, cotija, and a hint of lime that cut through the richness beautifully. We closed the evening with the new arroz con leche from the updated dessert menu. Warm, cinnamon-kissed rice pudding topped with a generous scoop of cinnamon ice cream proved to be the ideal sweet finale--comforting yet refined, with contrasting temperatures that made every bite exciting. From the thoughtful service to the consistent execution of both classics and new offerings, Char once again proved why it's a go-to spot for special occasions. If you're in Albuquerque and want elevated NM dining, Char meets the need.

We pulled up to the front entrance where a sign clearly said Check-In Parking, yet were told we could not leave the car and had to valet or park in the garage. We weren't even allowed to step inside to check in, which made things unnecessarily awkward. As we just wanted to check in run a grab a bite to eat down the street as we just drove 7 hours. The hotel itself is very nice and interesting -- it's one of the first Hilton hotels built from the ground up, which is pretty cool. The room was a highlight. Spacious, clean, and well designed with a beautiful large soaking tub, separate shower, and a great layout overall. Morning coffee service was disappointing 2 of they days we stayed -- coffee was out then tea was missing the next, and no water bottles were replaced in our room after housekeeping, so we couldn't make our own in theroom. Dinner at Char did not meet expectations, especially for the price. Our medium-rare steaks came out well done, and although we mentioned it, nothing was done to fix it. We had a party there a couple nights later and it was buffet style. Our steak was way better in that and I hate buffets. That said, Jarod at the bar was great we had a few drinks with him through the nights we stayed and he was out bartender at the party we hosted he was one of the highlights of the staff that we came across. Lastly, the surrounding area felt pretty sketchy at night. Some positives, but enough frustrations that it impacted our stay.

It is also well located next to Green Jeans, an indoor/outdoor food court, so we walked over there to meet a local friend for lunch one of the days we were there. The mountain views were lovely from outside of the hotel. Their big sign was broken/torn and their gym equipment needed to be updated or fixed. I think one of the treadmills was broken but luckily no one else was there so I was able to use the one working one. I really like that parking is included and not an extra charge like some hotels. We were located near a Target and lots of restaurants as well. Our room was located on the 12th floor and it was busy as the last ever Gathering of Nations was taking place at the fairgrounds. The employees whom helped us were very nice and efficient and checked up on us with a phone call once we got settled in our room. As for the room itself, it was perfect for what we needed. We had a great view of the city. The only cons we had was the HVAC system was not working properly. The room was very stuffy and no matter what temp we lowered it to (went all the way down to 60) the A/C did not kick in). The fan was working but not blowing any cold air (the hallway's A/C was working). I reported it to the front desk upon check out. The other item was the shower's knobs were located on the opposite side of the shower head and I had never seen that before. It was very awkward as the glass sliding door does not open on the side with the shower head. I felt that it was unsafe as you turn on the water but cannot feel the temp of the water cause it is on the other side. Then they offer a rollaway bed. No apology, acknowledgement of the mess up, or offer for reimbursement of the difference in price. I said I'd prefer a room with the 2 beds I paid for as I had my 4 month old son and my 63 year old mother. They said they were sold out, which means they sold my 2 bed room to someone else. Then they say they can't refund me because I booked through a 3rd party and would have to go through them. So I did. They had to contact the hotel on my behalf and the supervisor offered restaurant vouchers... Which I didn't take. Still no apology or acknowledgement of the mess up and no real solution. I won't name his name, but the guy that checked me in and that I talked to about the issue was completely unhelpful, unfriendly, and could not have cared less at what was going on. Not to mention 3 of the 4 elevators were malfunctioning/not operating at check in during an extremely busy weekend, and our AC unit barely kept the room cool enough to not sweat when turned all the way on high at the lowest temperature. Definitely will never stay here again when there is a Hilton and Sheraton right up the street. I do not recommend, at all. Also adding to this that I discovered I have a $32 charge on my card from them when I purchased nothing there and only gave my card for the deposit. Just an awful ran hotel.
