First time I've been kicked off a machine in 30 years of…read moreworking out in gyms across the world...literally while in the middle of my set by an employee unracking my weights and telling me to get off cause they are moving the exact machine I was currently using,.. I only had two sets left, mind you, and my sweater was on machine, I was getting ready to sit in it and use it, and the employee starts unracking my weights. I said "excuse me, I am using this and he said well we are moving it"! Never ever would this happen at 24 hour fitness or any other commercial big or small private gym. They know how to put their patrons first at those other places. IF he actually was taught to put members first, he would've let me finish the extra three minutes it would have taken me to complete my sets... never going back here. Or they could've put a sign to not use machine, like all other gyms in the world do. I have been a personal trainer all my life and never have I witnessed anything like what happened to me here today. If you're serious about your workouts and your time in the gym, don't bother with this incompetent staff that doesn't know how to put paying members first. What I experienced today is like eating at a restaurant and while you're in the middle of taking a bite of your half eaten burger, the waiter comes to your table and grabs your plate with your fries from underneath you. Who does that? LOL. But that is not the worst of it.. after the manager talks to me, the rude employee that kicked me off my machine (older man) comes over to where I am and rolls his eyes and tells me "get over it"!!! I've never been spoken to so poorly by a grown man. Shame on him for speaking to a lady that way. Zero respect, zero common sense, zero gym etiquette or know how. These people are running a joke of an establishment and their employees know nothing about serious training or why people actually go to the gym and yet they work at a gym. Canceled my family's membership and never going back to this dump.

Class had maybe 13 members so it was not packed, but the overall quality of the instructor was mediocre, at best. Music wasn't the greatest, her choreography was bizarre as a cyclist out on the road would not be doing any of those types of movements that she was instructing. Appeared to be most of the members were regulars so probably used to her, but if I am ever in the area again I will definitely not be back for her class. As for the remainder of the gym, it was very open, airy, clean (amazing for a 24) and not too busy. I did not get ready there so I cannot comment on the condition of the locker rooms nor showers, but it appears this one might have recently been "refreshed" as 24 Hour Fitness seems to be doing these days with their clubs. Parking lot was plentiful and large.

I did reach out as requested, but unfortunately the matter was never meaningfully resolved. What is most disappointing is that, despite my attempts to resolve the issue, the monthly membership fees continued to be charged, and my account was never fully closed when I requested it. It felt like collecting payments was a much higher priority than resolving a legitimate customer concern. From my perspective, the process seemed designed to make canceling unnecessarily difficult while continuing to bill members month after month. Once they had collected as much as they could, there was little interest in actually helping or following through. My original concerns also remain: the membership pricing and fees were not clearly explained, the facility was not maintained to the level I expected, and the customer service experience was disappointing. A public response is appreciated, but what really matters is taking action to resolve customer concerns. I was hoping for a better outcome, especially since this membership was for my teenage son. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves both its cancellation process and the way it treats customers after they sign up.

They double dip once they sell you a membership with lots of features and then they rent out those features and amenities to people that pay more, so you can't use what they sold the membership as, a classic bait and switch. The pool is great but you can only use when they are not reserving it for private use and lessons. The pickleball courts are great but you can only use them when they are renting them out for lessons, leagues and other money making events. I always feel like a sheep waiting to get fleeced by the employees trying to make quota on revenues. Buy this supplement, take this class, buy this lesson, try then drink, smh. They create an adversarial relationship with their so called "guest" by using them and not appreciating them. That said, there are a couple of areas that I find frustrating. Several other LifeTime locations offer a Pilates class called CTR at no additional charge, and I have repeatedly requested that this class be added at Westlake, but so far there has been no progress. Considering that Westlake dues are actually higher than many other locations, I would expect the amenities and class offerings to be at least comparable. I'm also disappointed by how frequently the pool slides are closed throughout the day and the lack of maintenance and care to the Hyperice. I can never find the right sizes and the machines decompress due to sealing issues. I genuinely love the Westlake club and would love to see Life Time continue investing in the member experience by bringing in popular classes like CTR and improving the consistency of the pool amenities and overall maintenance.
