We spoke, in person, with FRANK MONREAL the branch manager. Other banks offered HIGHER interest rates, so all we asked was that Old Plank (owned by WINTRUST) MATCH the rate of other banks. FRANK MONREAL stated, "we don't match", so we told him we would be in on Thursday 3/5/26 to close the account, and pick-up the check. Thursday morning we went in, and were told by MARKEELA McDONALD that we could NOT get our money as today is FRANK MONREAL day-off, and he had authorize it, WHAT! ... FRANK MONREAL KNEW WE WERE COMING TO PICK-UP THE CHECK, AND THIS IS HIS DAY-OFF! .. Well, in any event, MARKEELA McDONALD did get authorization, and after 2-HOURS, we went back, picked up the check, and promptly took out a new CD with the bank that has our OTHER CD. By the way, this other CD was money ALSO taken from Old Plank (owned by WINTRUST) ... Old Plank is NOT a BANK I would recommend or trust, and judging by the other reviews, other people feel that same way! ...
