They do wonderful job on dry cleaning and the service is always great. They might be higher than most cleaners, but it's worth it.

do not use Marquards dry cleaners. I left 2 linen shirts to be laundered and light starch. When I picked them up, it was $37! One had been dry cleaned and not very well pressed. They said it was because it was a silk blend which wasn't true. it was pure linen. They also charged extra because they said it was a woman's shirt and the darts were the issue. there are no darts in the shirt. They used to be the best dry cleaners in town. not anymore. I brought in an expensive cream colored formal dress with beading, silk and islet which had a 3 inch darkish stain on it. I don't know what caused the stain but they were able to get it out and it cost me $58. The thing is, I then used a tide stain stick on the stain because I figured I had nothing to lose and after a few application the stain was completely gone. I brought the dress back in to show them I was able to get the stain out myself with the tide stick and asked if they would box it up for me as a courtesy since they didn't get the stain out. The answer was no. They said they would give me 20% off the price of boxing it- the price of boxing was slightly more than the dry cleaning. No thank you, I boxed it myself. read more

After a fire we used Marquard's to pick up and clean clothing, bedding, rugs, curtains, etc. The pick up and final delivery was great! It take almost four weeks for all the items to be returned but it was a huge order. All the items were cleaned wonderfully and the items that they could not clean (they tried to clean everything but could not get the smell out of some items) were returned. I have had consistently good results from this dry cleaning business. I especially appreciate two things: 1) if they can't get something clean, they tell you so and tell you why in writing when your order comes back, and 2) they support recycling, both by taking back hangers and maintaining a bin in the lobby for depositing your used plastic wrappers. The Delmar location is conveniently located close to Hanley Road and not far from I-170. They not only do a great job on clothing, but also on rugs and draperies. I had them clean two large rugs and a runner following a dusty, dirty kitchen remodel and they did a fantastic job. Have been going to this cleaning company for years. I started going here about ten years ago when I had a stain on an expensive coat and was worried about it; they looked at it and told me they'd be able to take the stain out -- they were right! Then I realized that I'd had buttons ruined at other places and instances where stains weren't coming out. During the pandemic we weren't going anywhere. They kept my items safe for me. When we did go to pick them up, they met us in the parking lot with masks. Just a great, full service cleaner. I came to this place needing a life saver for a brand new suit that had been stained and my regular dry cleaner had been unable to fix. This place came up clutch!! Was it expensive? Would NOT recommend this dry cleaner. When I went to pick up my order, they handed me half of the items I had dropped off and, after disappearing into the back room for 30 minutes, informed me that they had misplaced all of my other items. They said they would search their cleaning facilities and call me the next day with an update. I did not receive a call. After waiting two days, I called and they said they had the items waiting, and didn't give an explanation as to why they didn't let me know they found the items. I show up, and they've only dry cleaned half the lost items. One of the employee hands me a garbage bag with the uncleaned items and says oh, we couldn't clean these, meaning my items were sitting wet and molding for a week. If I had known, I would have picked them up and gone somewhere else. Now my expensive towels are moldy and I have to throw them out. highly unprofessional, especially for the prices they charge. I was so excited to find a dry cleaners just up the street from my house. However, I was disappointed in their turnaround time. The work is done offsite so a three day turnaround was considered a rush order and they may have charged us extra for that. I was SHOCKED to pay over $20 for a little black dress made of polyester. I agree that they did a nice job and would be excellent for really expensive items (e.g. wedding dress), but how can you run a business solely on that? It's hard for me to buy clothes that fit me, so when I do, I take good care of them. Where to get business suits, dresses, slacks, and blouses (for women) dry cleaned? Marquard's. Yes, they're pricey. But they do a good job. I'd rather spend money to get my clothes cleaned properly, instead of destroying my clothes and having to spend more money to purchase new clothes. Perks: They accept credit cards and they store your dry cleaning by last name on a computer. No ticket to hold on to! So, you come back, give them your last name, and viola. I seem to have been there often enough that I recognize some of the staff and they recognize me, so sometimes I don't even need to give my name. Also, now that I've gone to Marquard's for at least 2 years with my nice clothes, I've taken my WEDDING DRESS there to be cleaned and preserved. Starting at $275 (price increases depending on level of damage and type of fabrics/beading) you can get your wedding dress cleaned and then either hung with tissue (they claim that'll last 10 years until the fabrics start to become discolored), or stored in a box packed with tissue and perhaps extra chemicals (they claim dresses stored in the box won't discolor "forever," unless of course the box is opened). I'll report back once I get my wedding dress back in about 3 weeks. (Yeah, 3 weeks? Whatever. If it's going to sit in a box for years and years, I'm happy if they take their time with it.) And yippee, there was a 15% off promotion on cleaning wedding dresses this September, so at least that saved me about $30. read more

I dropped off two shirts at the Chesterfield location for normal shirt laundry--no starch on a hanger--since the last shirts I got back were still wrinkled around the arms, I asked if they could hand touch those spots--clerk said sure thing--I am used to this issue since most of the shirt machines do not cover larger shoulder work-- Got the shirts back, looked way over done with crepe paper in the sleeves, collar band etc etc plus a charge of about 25 for the two--I asked about the exorbitant charge and the young lady (I use this loosely) said that's what it was as shown on the receipt--she never explained that kind of charge was coming and was extremely haughty when questioned-- I will not be going back-a true example of snobby service and crappy customer service along with price gouging-- read more

This dry cleaner is awesome! I'm not sure how it even has any negative reviews. They do such an amazing job. I would say their prices are pretty reasonable considering how great my items always come out. The owner is the sweetest man ever and their costumer service is wonderful. My mom has also been going to this location for years and even though she has plenty of other dry cleaners closer to her, she chooses to go to this location. They are so nice and helpful here. I was told to go to Marquard's to get stuff I really cared about cleaned. I was warned that it was a bit expensive, but I had a favored sweater to be cleaned and was willing to shell out to make sure it was treated nice. I also brought two dress shirts along. The service was good, the people working there were very nice. Unfortunately, when I went to pickup my clothes, there were my two shirts nicely cleaned and starched, as well as a brooks brothers sweater that wasn't mine! I mentioned this to the employees and the apologized and said they would resolve the issue. A day later I got a call that my sweater was found and ready to be picked up. I went back and was shocked to be asked to pay full price ($16.50) for the sweater. I thought the inconvenience of me having to drive back again would at least have earned me a discount if not a free item. Normally I would have sealed my lips and been happy to have my sweater back, but I expected premium service to come with the premium prices Marquard's charges. They charge 4x what my normal cleaners (who has never lost an item) charges for a sweater, so I was a quite annoyed that they lost it. When I protested the worker at the counter offered me the sweater for free, but mentioned his boss might not be happy. Not wanting to get him in trouble (he didn't screw up) , I asked him to call his boss so I could explain my dissatisfaction. The boss apologized but told me the best he could do was give me a credit to my account for the next time I get cleaning done there. I didn't feel like arguing further, but this seemed to be a bit cheap on their part. Probably is an isolated incident, but how it was handled was less then satisfactory. I am new to the neighborhood so I needed to find a new dry cleaner. I dropped of a suit and two dress shirts and didn't ask what they charged, but I figured it's dry cleaning, how much could it be? They told me it was going to be a few days, which seemed odd, since most of the cleaners I've used have it ready in 24 hours (or 48 at the longest). The turn around time wasn't a big deal since I wasn't in a hurry, but when I went to pick it up, I almost had a heart attacking when she told me it was $50. I said she must have gotten my order confused with someone else's, but nope. She confirmed it was $50 and told me they do a really good job. To be honest, I don't know what a really good job entails when it comes to dry cleaning, but ever other cleaner I have ever used seemed to have done a good job too. As long as the items are clean, and come back nicely pressed I am happy. Two shirts and a suit usually costs me around $20, so I was plenty pissed and I informed the lady I wouldn't be coming back. I don't usually leave negative yelp reviews, but I just couldn't believe what a rip off this place is. They use a different kind of chemical that is apparently non-toxic in the cleaning process but the result is that your clothes won't come out quite as clean as in other places. The service is also not good here; the workers will do their best to make you feel unwelcome. I took my daughter's May Day dress, essentially it is a wedding gown, to be cleaned. I was quoted a price of $293.00. My older daughter wore it and two years later, my younger daughter was going to wear it. I picked the dress up three weeks after dropping it off and it was boxed even though I had told them that my daughter would be wearing it in a month. I took the dress home and found dark spots on it that were not there originally. Frustrated, I returned the dress and was told it would be a week to clean and return it to the store. The dress still needed to be altered, so time was of essence. I returned to the cleaners a week later and this time, I examined the dress before leaving the store. Again it had dark spots on it. I nearly started crying. I took pictures of the dress and called Ken "the doctor." He was very apologetic because he knew that I had already returned the dress once. He offered to have the dress delivered to my home, which they did. It was extremely frustrating. I called the cleaners less than a month after she wore it and ask how much it would cost to have the dress cleaned as they had just cleaned it in March and it had only been worn twice. oh where do i start with Marquards? I was told from a good friend of mines, that this was the best cleaners in st. Louis, BOLOGNA!!!!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BUSINESS IN ST. LOUIS. Okay to make this short and sweet, i took a $500 Chanel sweater (cashmere) i was charged over $20 for cleaning....i took them 4 days to clean it....when i went to wear it, I DIDN'T FIT!!!! they charged me $2 to pre-measure ( to try and avoid shrinkage) and $6.95 to "hand finish" because it cashmere and the cleaning itself was $12. and my fav pair of skinny jeans were creased when i'm sure i asked them twice not to crease them, I WAS HORRIFIED, it took two months for them to BEGIN the process of replacing my sweater, and i was shocked when i realized that only the charge for the sweater was refunded to my card and that after they had to re-press my jeans and replace my Chanel sweater they expected me to pay for ANYTHING!!!!!!! the young lady who assisted me however was VERY NICE, but when she was apparently mortified by my story she asked an older lady to come assist and the older lady was a insensitive, ill tempered complete a**hole....i was FLOORED!!!!! u would think when they are charging 4X a normal cleaning price and taking twice as long to complete the job...this story would have a much better ending BUT IT DOES NOT!!!!!!!! read more
