This place looks cute and the outdoor sitting is nice. They do have indoor sitting as well but we sat outside since it was a beautiful day. The outdoor sitting area overlooks the park across the way so you can enjoy your meal and people watch. I ordered some spicy pizza of the day. My friend went safe and ordered the margarita pizza. The presentation is nice. You get a large pizza on a wooden paddle. I also ordered a beer and water to go with my pizza. I was parched. The pizza not only looked great but tasted great. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and they make their own sauce. I would compare to a pizza I had while in Italy. Overall, a nice spot to grab a bite and drink. There are additional shops in the small strip such as ice cream, outdoor place, and others. I would recommend if you're passing in the area. My taste buds did thank me for the delicious meal I had. In reality though, this little takeaway shop in Maghull looks like anything but a traditional family run Italian pizzeria. The shop itself is small in size and pretty plain-looking, with the layout inside fairly basic as well. Thankfully, image doesn't mean everything with Little Sicily as despite the plain and basic shop layout, their food is made to a very high standard. They offer a range of different pizza sizes as well as many delicious and interesting toppings, ensuring that anyone's tastes can be met here. Their pizzas can be a little bit more expensive than your bog-standard takeaway, but you can taste the difference. I prefer Perfect Pizza down the road if I'm honest, but Little Sicily is still a great place to go for pizza if you fancy it.

Even the website (on which you can order your food to pick up or deliver) looks a bit like a cheap Dominos copy. However, all this is forgotten when you've ordered and your pizza arrives ready to be devoured. An ex-girlfriend once told me this was the best pizza in the area and I would easily agree. The pizza bases are perfectly doughy and chewy, and they manage to get the ratio of cheese to tomato just right too. The toppings they offer are wide ranging and generously thrown on and although you'll end up paying a bit more than your average kebab/pizza takeaway, you really can taste the difference. They even put those little plastic divider things in the middle of the pizza. One gripe I do have is that they aren't closer to Formby (they don't deliver there either), meaning I can only enjoy a slice or six if I go there myself (we all have our vices). If you call up and order ahead they usually have your pizzas waiting for you when you arrive too, which is always nice. For those of you that don't fancy leaving your house, they also deliver. As the name suggests, Pizzas & Co. specialises in pizzas, mainly anyway. They manage to do a very good job of the ancient art of bringing together cheese and tomato on a bread base as their pizzas are both doughy and perfectly cheesy, with just the right amount of tomato sauce too. They have a wide variety of toppings available as well as a selection of different pizzas if you don't fancy making your own. The 'Co.' that they refer to in their name is the usual selection of pastas, garlic breads and sides that you'd expect, but the pizzas is where Pizzas & Co. really excels.

Tried Yelp and there are many Yelpers in this region so compared Trip Advisor and settled on a local pub that had decent reviews. Unfortunately the pub switched ownership and the menu totally changed. So we left and walked up the street and cosmically Johnny Dough's beckoned is in and we were so glad we opened the door and asked "are you still serving". The man (pizza chef) / woman (counter) duo were very welcoming and offered us tastes of the local beers and then offered to do a "half and half" pizza to meet both of our tastes.
