    Comptoir Libanais - Lamb Kofta

I was in the mood for Mediterranean and there it was across from Costa Coffee, offering the FLAVOURS OF LEBANON. The ambiance was laid back and reminiscent of an Arabian outdoor garden, including climbing vines and flowers, hanging lights and intricate tile designs, all whilst Arabic music played in the background. The lamb kofta was deliciously seasoned & the vegetarian mezze very nice as well. I would have given 5 stars if the wait from the kitchen wasn't so long. However, I will def return on my next visit to Chester. *gratuity included.

We had a choice of places to eat here with Yo Sushi nearby, but it has become way too overpriced for what it is, and Tampopo which was also nearby, but we remembered that the last time we ate there the portions were just mean and the food wasn't hot. So in here it was. It's an open kitchen but I suspect most of the dips are factory made off site and plated here. We ordered a mezze platter for one and a mixed grill main consisting of chicken & lamb which came (served fairly cold) with a salad and a choice of spicy potato (the waitress declared the potatoes weren't that spicy) rice or cous cous. Cous cous was instantly our choice and it was very good. The food was refreshingly delicious with fresh herbs lifting the taste buds to another level. The salad with the mixed grill was ace tasting. The mezze plate was entirely vegetarian with some vegan food on the plate. The portions were mostly generous, but only one small falafel; should be two. Whilst it was all delicious the smoked aubergine and the baba ghanuj were really stand - out stunning and the flat bread on the side was a wonderful vehicle to dunk and munch. The service was friendly, but on the slow side and we got the wrong bill at the end of our meal. It was also odd to hear that only credit card payments were accepted and one couldn't put a tip onto the card payment either. We were fine with card payment and if we can't tip than that's that but it would be good manners if not necessary to tell guests this before they are seated or put a note on the window. Solid three stars - if the hot food was hot and the service focussed it would be four stars but if I'm not getting tips I wouldn't be super efficient either and to management - it's not rocket science guys & gals.

The food is delicious and cheap, with large rich ingredients and it also serves speciality coffee. I have tastes a few dishes there unlike anything Ive tasted before and I eat out A LOT !! An added bonus is that they do corkage so we were able to bring wine and champagne that had been bought for me. The interior is a mix between intimate and modern with an exotic influence and also boasts a Shisha bar upstairs with a balcony. They also do takeaways , so if you ever need high quality food and not a greasy pizza, I recommend ordering. I will eat there again and again.

Hello mates, first of all this place is very mediocre as most of my family said from this place…read more First of all, we got the margarita pizza and it was decently good. I was very hungry from traveling all day seeing the Beatles sites so I ate it anyway, but it was very mediocre. It tasted like Chuck E. Cheese pizza quite frankly, my brother got the americana pizza. It had pepperoni on it. He said it tasted junk but that wasn't the end of the line my other brother got the vegetarian pizza he described it as frozen. He didn't like the pizza because it tasted too dehydrated. It did not have wet sauce. The pizza stayed completely intact. If you held it completely upside down, the toppings were like glued on, and they didn't really have a particular taste. Everything just kind of tasted extra chewy, but without any sort of spice, we tried the different sauces in order to make it taste a bit better and I have to say that adding the tomato sauce on top did help to Live in it a bit, but it really still fell short of something worth paying for it to sit down restaurant. My mother got lamb kebab. She described it as good and it was all right so nothing really crazy if you wanna get a bite I think you should go somewhere else personally but I hope you enjoyed my review. Cheers!
