Marlon is the god of Brazilian blowout. I have tried many places in the city, he is by far the best. I have been doing brazilian/keratin treatment for over 10 years, so I know what to expect. He is also super fast & efficient. I hate spending 4 hours in a salon, but Marlon makes the process a lot faster. I get root touch up, Brazilian & cut in less than 3 hours. He makes good suggestions to keep your hair healthy. read more

Absolutely wonderful service! I got a Brazilian blowout and it looks amazing. Marlon gives you all the tools you need to keep your hair healthy and lengthen the time between needing touch ups. I had to work during my appointment and he provided chargers, WiFi, and delicious tea. Truly a classy experience and I will definitely be back when I need another Brazilian! read more

I have naturally curly/wavy hair that was always frizzy, puffy, and hard to manage. I got the Keratin smoothing treatment - formaldehyde free from Marlon and my hair is now much more manageable. It is much straighter, smoother and easier to care for. Marlon also made the experience very comfortable and chill. I definitely recommend! read more

Price:350 with haircut w/o tip My hair was frizzy, I actually tried curly girl method for a bit and in some days my hair would actually look naturally curly. I got bored of the wavy hair and wanted to do straight hair. I have done japanese straightening and keratin in the past but more than 5 years. I have thick, coarse, and frizzy hair Pro: reduce my frizzy hair 70%, less tangles, less hair breakage, effortless look without straightening it with flat iron, less time styling, looks natural compared to japanese straightening Cons: initial smell ( very strong) got my eyes teary when my hair gets over my face,( I have done 4 or 5 keratin treatment throughout my life and never had this strong smell):this went away on the 2nd wash, makes my hair flat, harder to hide greasy hair It only took 1 hour for the process, they did not waste anytime and worked on your hair. There's literally one person in each side, made it efficient. It did not make my hair pin straight or perfect but Im able to put my hair down with a blow dry only vs puttibg it up in a bun. Cannot attest to longevity since this is my first round; but I will come back again. This is such an easy hair glow up! If you really want specific on what chemicals they put etc, they don't really tell you but I also did not ask. They give you generalize after care instructions. Also, i chose not to wash my hair immediately, I waited till the next day since I really want it to last but I was told I could wash it immediately if I wanted to. Easy appt online and confirmed by text Pics below are before, 1st wash and then 2nd wash. ( I wash my hair every other day read more

I had a fantastic experience with Marlon. He definitely knows what style fits you. Keratin quality is superb. I had keratin in other place in the area and Marlon's product is the bestLoved the environment he is very professional and his staff is attentive. Definitely I will come back! read more

I've gotten 2 Keratin treatments here and while expensive, it's worth it. My first Keratin treatment lasted 8 months. I use top quality shampoo and conditioner, plus I use hair masks. I also apply olaplex oil on the ends and smoothing cream (not daily but the day I shower after it t dries) By the end of 8 months, my hair was getting back to being intolerably frizzy with the foggy weather. I asked Marlon for the stronger strength because I want to dabble with my hair being straighter. I'll update how the stronger strength is like read more

Worth EVERY PENNY! Marlon is so talented at what he does making it a comfortable quick process (2 hours max). I am so happy with the few times I have had the treatment done- it lasts a long time (for me 4-5 months) and for someone with curly frizzy hair I don't have to blow dry my hair at all. It is straight to wavy with no frizz. I have noticed a huge change in the quality and health of my hair since doing this treatment. If you are hesitating doing this, GO FOR IT! You will never look back. read more

thank you thank you thank you! i got a keratin straightening treatment a couple weeks ago, and i am super satisfied with the results. Marlon uses a new formula without formaldehyde, and it's a lot healthier and it doesn't have the smell or chemicals of the old product. I have washed my hair a few times now (with sulfate-free shampoo), and it still has the same results as when I got it first done. My hair feels so much lighter and healthier, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! thank you read more

This was my very first time at Marlon's salon, but not my first BB. My previous stylist was also very good, but O M G, Marlon and Briana work a special kind of magic. Firstly, the salon is super cute. Second, Marlon also has a great set up with several different fans (of varying sizes), that make the resulting fumes really easy to deal with. Thirdly, I was done in 1 hour 15 minutes () because they work together so well! (For context, I've been at the salon for 3-4 hours for my BBs before). I was a little (very) nervous about my appointment going in to it because of my hair texture but Marlon and Briana didn't miss a single beat, and I left loving my results. I found my new BB salon for sure. Highly recommend. read more

Marlon Ramos - Hair by Marlon. - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco, California

I had my hair double-processed with a gorgeous color at another salon the week before, and after the first shampoo and conditioning--it was clear my hair was fried and no amount of sulfate-free, deep conditioning was going to get it to be anywhere near manageable. Having spent a ton of money to get my color, I didn't want to spend my life in a top bun and not show it off. So, after two days of research and scouting the internet--I bit the bullet and decided to get a Brazilian Blowout. I got a last minute appointment with Marlon (my regular salon doesn't offer Brazilian Blowouts). He was very friendly and efficient, made sure I was comfortable and provided a lot of guidance on how to maintain my hair, when would be best to come in again (after my next coloring), etc. We were in a separate room with open windows and lots of fans, as well as a special fan that was placed over my head to suck the fumes out, and I was provided a mask to prevent inhaling fumes. The process involved shampooing, blow drying, applying the product, and flat ironing. I was sent home after that and instructed that I could wash my hair that evening if the product was irritating at all, or the next night if I could hold off. I went to bed with a pony tail and a hair cap to avoid smelling the product or having it on my pillowcase or bedding. I washed my hair in the morning and styled only by blow drying with heat protectant and styling cream. It only took 20 minutes and I was completely frizz free! I was a bit confused and skeptical because my research said after flat ironing, you're supposed to rinse out the product and blow dry again--which didn't happen for me. When I went home and did some more research, it seems like perhaps I received a Brazilian Blowout Zero+ rather than the Original? And Zero+ is better for fine/thin hair and mine is on the thicker/coarser side. But regardless, after the first wash and self-styling--the outcome is highly satisfactory! I would just ask Marlon about what process he's saying, if you're super particular. Lastly, something that cannot be helped is that my hair is very much yellower after the process--Marlon warned me that this could happen and I decided to risk it. So if your hair is prone to brassiness, be ready to double up on the sulfate-free, silicone-free purple shampoo and conditioner to tone your hair back to an ashier color. Overall, would definitely recommend Marlon and his services! read more

Going in tomorrow for a second visit to Marlon after having fantastic results from my treatment 12 weeks ago. I had Brazilian blowouts / Keratin treatments in my 20s and they were nothing like this. My normally curly, frizzy hair air dries to a beachy wavy and blowdries glossy straight. Even the SF fog or getting caught in a little rain doesn't evoke the typical frizzy mess I deal with. I can't thank Marlon enough for the time this treatment has given me back every morning! read more

Went in to see Marlon and his assistant Briana for a Brazilian Blowout and it has by far been the best decision I've ever made for my hair. I was getting to the point that I was going to just chop it all off . I was also concerned that a Brazilian blow out would make my hair look too straight and flat, but that was not the case at all. I still have a lot of volume and even some of my wave. As an example, I an attaching a before and after photo of my hair, as well as a photo of my hair after washing it for the first time since the blowout. I let it air dry and it was 10 times easier to brush and I didn't have to straighten it. It was such a relief to have manageable hair for the first time in a long time. Thank you Marlon and Briana! read more

Marlon Ramos - Before / After / After 1st wash air dry - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco, California

The only place I trust for a keratin treatment. Marlon and Oscar are extremely thoughtful and thorough. I have gone to other salons where keratin treatments immediately washed out, so was cautious when selecting but have been to Marlon's salon twice now. I come out with my hair smooth and frizz free and I couldn't love it more. Highly recommen! read more

Marlon did a great job with my hair! I felt beautiful walking out of the salon. His whole set up is perfect for the Brazilian--with fans a separate room and windows to air everything out. He has a great process going. He is also very enjoyable to talk to and a really cool person. I had a great experience and will definitely be back! Thank you, Marlon! read more

Marlon is the best. I have gotten the treatment done by two other professionals but they are not comparable to Marlon. Results are long lasting with a high quality customer service. I think I am going on my 5th treatment in the last two years. I get it done for frizzy hair. My hair gets tangled easily as it is thin and curly. I also have a condition that makes my hair break easily. Keratin has allowed me to style and grow my hair with freedom. Thank you Marlon! read more

I LOVE MARLON & BRIANNA!! they're the best! I cant wait to be back again in 3 months

Marlon is absolutely wonderful and an expert at his craft. I recently got my first Zero Formaldehyde Keratin treatment with him after seeing him previously for the old version with formaldehyde. He talked me though all the differences in detail. I was a little nervous since it was a new formulation. My fears were completely unfounded. The results from the Zero Formaldehyde treatment have been amazing. My hair is super sleek, shiny, and smooth and my blow dry time is at 15 minutes down from 35/40 when I don't have the treatment. It's also wonderful to not have to wear a mask and have no fumes. I'm so happy with everything and can't recommend Marlon enough! read more

I went to Marlon back in November to get a keratin treatment and have been waiting to write this review until the treatment wore off. It lasted me a good four months, and I was so happy with the results and benefits it had on my hair. I went in looking for a treatment that would help me manage my extremely frizzy and curly hair, and the keratin treatment did just that. I was a little skeptical at first, because I was told I was one of the first clients to receive the treatment without formaldehyde, but the results were so amazing. My hair was so much easier to manage, required way less hair product, and had a lower dry time. Now that the treatment has worn off, my curl pattern is completely back to normal and is not damaged in any way. I am so excited I found a treatment that works for my hair and will be back soon! read more

Marlon truly is one of a kind. From all the reviews, you can gauge he truly know what he's doing-- but he is so much more than that. I've done keratin treatment a few times but he has truly transformed my health to a way I've never seen before! But other than his 5 star hair service, he also is just an amazing, humble, kind hearted person. 100% go to him!! Best in sf! read more

Marlon is extremely talented and professional. He's also very friendly, pleasant, and makes a client feel very comfortable. I recently went there for a Brazilian Keratin treatment and the results are amazing! It usually takes me a long time to style/blow dry my hair as it's naturally curly and it has a lot of volume . This morning, I washed my hair for the first time after getting the Keratin treatment, and I didn't even need to blow dry or style my hair. Marlon is also super fast, it only took him a few hours to do this treatment. I have been to other hairdressers in the past, and I remember that it would take about 5 hours for this treatment to be completed. My plan is to return for another treatment in 3-4 months. Highly recommend you seek him!!! read more

I've been coming to Marlon for Brazilian keratin treatment for years - now I even travel back to California from out of state to see him because he's the best ! Excellent. I've seen Marlon twice and I'm always more than pleased. I recently had to cancel since I'm on a prescription that doesn't do well with the treatment and I was over the 24 hour cancelation policy and he graciously credited it all back to me. I'll be back when I can! read more

What a great experience! I've been to see Marlon 2 times now and he is incredible. I finally feel like I have manageable hair and I owe it all to him. he Real Deal!!! I'm not one to write reviews, however I did read them when looking for a Brazilian Blowout. I've had them before and the problem was none of them ever lasted for more than two months. I'm so relieved and happy that I found Marlon... he is the real deal! he knows what he's doing, very knowledgeable about the history, product, process, and care. I was so taken back that not only did I love the outcome, it lasted for the entire 6 mos! Look no further Marlon is the only person you want to do your Brazilian Blowout! read more

I have extremely frizzy, poofy hair with tight waves, so I'd been Japanese hair straightening my hair for 14 years. However, the damage had taken a serious toll on my hair, so I started exploring alternative methods. Up til now, I had always been told that Keratin wouldn't be strong enough to address my hair type. That is until I met Marlon, who explained that there are literally thousands of types of Keratin on the market, and with the right kind we could definitely get my hair sleek and shiny. Marlon did explain that my hair wouldn't be as pin-straight as the Japanese, but it would be much straighter than my natural hair. And true to his word, upon the first wash, my hair air-dried to tame silky smooth, very subtle waves! It looked so good, I didn't even have to style it. I just can't stop touching my hair! The result is much different than what any hair product or generic salon treatment can do. It even seemed to enhance my hair color. I feel Marlon really understands Keratin/Brazilian Blowouts so he will definitely customize it to your hair type and your desired outcome! Definitely come see Marlon! read more

I recently moved to the Bay Area from Barcelona and needed someone to help me with my hair. This is my second time getting a Brazilian Blowout with Marlon and wow! My hair has never looked this good and healthy! The haircut was just the cherry on top. I asked him to do curtain bangs and my hair looks flawless! I don't have before and after pictures, but trust me, Marlon is the best. I started getting keratin treatments in my teens (I'm now in my 30s) and this is the best I've ever looked.
