shrimp tacos and a local cerveza
Fernando A.

Excellent first meal in Mexico City. This place was around the corner from our airbnb in Roma Norte, and my wife saw that they had marlin tacos on the menu. She was pleased, and I liked my shrimp tacos. But, hers were much better. Maybe because you don't see it on the menu much on LA, but they were tasty. I definitely would recommend this place. It's cute inside, service is friendly, and food is very good!

Marlin tacos = yum

The aguachile here is next level--so fresh and authentic, I felt like I was kicking it beachside in Nayarit. Perfect balance of heat and citrus, super refreshing. The marlin tacos were packed with flavor--smoky, savory, and satisfying with every bite. You can tell they're not cutting corners in the kitchen. The Pura Vida Ceviche was super tasty too--bright, citrusy, and loaded with fresh seafood. Straight-up delicious. But the best part? The Mezcal Chela--a shot of mezcal and a cold beer for one solid price. It's a no-brainer. Marlindo is that spot that hits all the right notes: good food, chill vibes, and flavors that make you wanna come back tomorrow. But I can't since I live in San Diego. So, until next time Marlindo.

Marlindo: A Hidden Gem in Mexico City's Culinary Sea Sometimes the best meals come when plans go awry. After a much-anticipated visit to another restaurant turned into a 45-minute wild goose chase--thank you, Google--I found myself stumbling upon Marlindo, a Marlin-themed taqueria that instantly piqued my curiosity. Specializing in a game fish I'd never had the chance to try, this restaurant turned my day around and delivered an unexpected culinary adventure. The menu at Marlindo is a celebration of the sea, and I dove in headfirst. Naturally, we started with guacamole--fresh, vibrant, and exactly what you'd hope for in Mexico City. A tuna tostada followed, layered with silky fresh tuna and bright flavors. The tuna ceviche? A standout--bursting with citrus, perfectly fresh, and almost too good to share. The true star of the show, however, was the Marlin. I tried the Marlin enchiladas, which were delightfully satisfying. While the fish didn't assert itself as a bold, unmistakable flavor, it had a delicate, smoky quality that paired beautifully with Marlindo's vibrant salsas. Each salsa brought its own personality to the table, from zippy and bright to smoky and robust, elevating every bite. And of course, there were tacos--because when in Mexico City, tacos are non-negotiable. Marlindo's were simple, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. If you're feeling indecisive, know that you can't go wrong with any taco on the menu. The ambiance added to the charm. Set in a cozy space with a relaxed vibe, the restaurant even featured two guitar-playing gentlemen who serenaded the diners. It was a sweet, unexpected touch that made the experience feel uniquely Mexican. While I initially set out for a different culinary destination, Marlindo turned out to be the serendipitous gem of the day. If you're looking for a spot in Mexico City to try something different--something Marlin-themed--you won't regret stopping here. It's a fresh, flavorful, and delightfully memorable experience I'm glad I stumbled upon.

Everything tasted so good and flavorful. It was our first meal in CDMX and it set the bar high. Highly recommended!

Had a chance to try Marlindo - and if you are looking for a well priced spot with great seafood items and dishes - this one's for you! The service is fast here and the ambiance is cute - it's a nice spot to hang with friends! When we got here around 2:30pm on a Monday, thankfully there were plenty of seats open and we were able to sit down. We ended up ordering: *tuna tostadas - honestly this was fantastic - me and my brother devoured this and enjoyed every bite. The fish was delicious and the sauces and fried leeks went perfectly together! *fish ceviche - this was surprisingly very delicious - the fish was nice and tasty and the tarty flavor went really well together. *octopus tacos : these were our least favorite but it was seasoned octopus in small bits with cheese. I would skip these next time and order the shrimp and fish items! * shrimp tacos: I can't remember the exact name but it was the garlic shrimp ones. Imagine taking a seasoned garlic butter shrimp and cheese with delicious salsas and eating it. It was magical and enjoyed every bite! A little on the heavy side though Overall, experience was great and would definitely recommend all to check this place out - you won't be disappointed!

Food was amazing, and the service. I had the tuna tostada, fish tacos, and mussels. The food comes out fresh and fast.

100% recomendado! --------------------------- The place is very clean and in a good location. The waiters are all very friendly and explained everything on the menu very well. We ordered several dishes to share and everything was really tasty, the ingredients were very fresh and the beer was very cold! The prices are reasonable and the portions are not small. 100% recommended!

We happened to stumble across this gem while walking through the area. Not only was the service amazing but every single plate we ordered was amazing! The fresh seafood was on point! This is definitely a place I will visit again next time I'm in town! The ambiance was so welcoming as well.

This cute little cafe is perfect for a mid-afternoon meal and people watching. The seafood is fresh, and it's very affordable. There is plenty of outdoor seating. We tried: - Aqua de dia (juice) - Ceviche Puro Vida - Aquachile tatemado - Tostado de Atun - Tinto de Verano Would highly recommend all of these dishes- light and refreshing!

We stumbled upon this place after a nearby restaurant had too long of a wait, and it became one of our favorite meals of the trip! The tacos were delicious, the guac was a generous portion size, and the atmosphere was great with outdoor seating and beachy music. My favorite were the Baja fish tacos with a glass of beer. I probably wouldn't order the peacadilla again - those tacos were fully fried (like the shell encloses the filling and they fry that), which was a little too much for us.

Food was very, very good and extremely fresh. The service was highly attentive and the patio seating was great.

Our bench table overlooked the rest of the venue. So colorful and breathtaking!! Love all the Instagrammable plant walls with neon lights. The menu for this place is insane. So many different vendors to order from. The waitress came by, and I gave my partner the freedom to order a cocktail for me. And our shared food, for that matter. The cocktail was pretty good. I'm especially obsessed with the stylish mug it came in. For dinner, we shared a Brazilian dish containing stredded beef, black beans, white rice, egg, yucca, and plantains. SOOOO delicious. My mouth waters just writing this review. Service is great but slow as expected in CDMX. Overall I can't wait to come back and try many more menu items!!

Our Internet searching brought us to Bowie, where a splurge on a 7 course tasting menu ran us 490 pesos, or a mere $25. I made a photo collage from the entire menu, but it doesn't even do it justice. Most courses were brought out and presented in a smoky glass being removed from your plate, and the flavor of everything was really good... it wasn't _just_ the presentation. We left feeling full but not stuffed, and I remember enjoying every course. The best presentation was the dessert, where the smores were done tableside with a blowtorch. You really wouldn't think this would be such a fun & enjoyable meal from the looks of the restaurant, so thank you Yelp for helping me find a great meal for a really reasonable price.

I ordered the grilled bone marrow and my friend got the grilled octopus. Amazing presentation on the octopus, served on its own cute little barbecue grill still smoking away. I think it was mole that accompanied the octopus on the plate...whatever it was it was delicious and my favorite thing from Bowie. The bone marrow portion was very generous and came with unlimited tortillas. However, I found it to be just a little too greasy for me. The drinks and ambience were great and service was impeccable. I would definitely recommend and be back for the octopus and drinks.
