Rates have gone up a little and have kinda been shocking with how high theyve gone up. Other then that. Its really a great quiet hotel that I recommend for people looking for an affordable hotel. Would really recommend to the hotel to please provide Pack - N - Plays to children. It's unfortunate to have to pack our own when all surrounding hotels in TC offer them

My husband and I were here for a wedding and the whole weekend at Sojourn was like a fairy tale…read more Granted, the fall weather was spectacular, but the setting and entire venue was over-the-top charming and idyllic. Technically a "rustic" venue, you'll be hard pressed to not feel showered in elegance throughout. As you drive into the resort, you'll first notice a picture perfect sign and vignette. Then, the layout for the outdoor ceremony right in front of the lake was dreamy (the folding chairs are never comfy, though, ha!) from the floral trellis to the sound system. Everyone moved into a deluxe tent for appetizers and cocktail party. It's well heated and sturdy enough to forget it's a tent. Then we moved into the building for the reception. The cabin is gorgeous - outdoorsy touches and decor abound. It's heaven for Instagram updates (actually, the whole resort is). When the sun sets, the light pouring in makes it somewhat challenging to stay cool but the light blast didn't last long. The indoor bar/lounge between the tent and building is a nice addition for the evening. There is a very small ladies restroom and if it's the only one, they could use another. Then it was back to the tent for the after party. (This was also the place for the party the night before.) Loved Sojourn so much!

Additionally, Joy and her staff provided first class customer service and high quality hospitality. It is not far from the I-75 Exit and it is located right in the middle of the Golf Mecca. The exterior has also been…read moreupdated, although it doesn't necessarily give you an idea of the renovations that are inside. Of course, it's not a five-star hotel, but keeping in mind that it's a motel, I'd say it easily compares to a 3.5-4 star property. Just be sure to set your expectations accordingly. I didn't notice an office or staff around during our stay, so if you need assistance, keep in mind that this is more of a self-service motel experience. That said, booking and check-in were incredibly easy--you can do everything right from your phone, and you can check-in on your phone once you arrive. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and updated the property was, and I would stay here again.

Whenever I have family in town or friends from out of town that need a place to stay; she always accommodates and the prices are more than fair. The rooms are clean, each with its own uniqueness. Sure, it's bare bones ( shared bathrooms and sometimes saggy mattresses) but the price is reasonable, its clean and big and a super comfortable place for our 60+ family members to hang out and reconnect. The lake is lovely and the dock and beach are the only things we need to entertain us on a warm summer day. The kids like the rowboats and trips to the store for candy. One recent big negative is that the lodge staff can no longer cook and serve meals. The Silver Dollar restaurant is a short walk away, but it's just not the same as being served breakfast (or dinner) on site.

Stayed a weekend here once nearly 20 years ago. Found it acceptable if a little shopworn. Was back…read morethis week and had roughly the same impression. There have been updates--room looked recently painted, there was a stove/sink setup in the room that looked new, bathroom was recently retiled. There also are spots of unpainted wood, some caulk that is failing, countertop peeling off. In the bathroom, a large countertop sink leaves little space to set soap or other toiletries. It takes a very long time to get hot water. Some of the drawers in the dresser are missing handles, or have bottoms dropping out. Still, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable if a little soft, the shower is large, which is almost never the case at older small motels. To hew closely to Yelp's definition of star ratings, I have to go with two, as I definitely have had better. But I've had worse too, and I wouldn't rule out a return.
