After we sat down at the bar, we were told they did not have brisket so the Tiger Pizza and Brisket Tacos were not an option as advertised. Disappointed of course, but these things happen, especially with house made brisket. We were still looking forward to see what else was on the menu. I ordered the Poppers because my son was excited by the Bacon Habanero Jam that was supposed to be served with the appetizer. Unfortunately, it was served with some ranch dressing type sauce without being told about the switch. It was not great and obviously not what we ordered or what was described on the menu. We also tried the Dune Bird appetizer. It could not be served as initially advertised either as no brisket was available, so they used pulled pork which seemed like a good option. Although I appreciated the Smokey Flavor of the pork, the consistency was a bit like baby food with the corn bread super dry even though it was covered by an overly salty (canned?) really thin gravy. We moved on to the entrees as we ordered two orders of the walleye tacos. We also asked for sides of the Sweet Pea Pasta Salad as well and were told they only had enough for one side and we needed to pick a different second side. (This was early on a Saturday night so the lack of ingredients to make many of the item on the menu was odd as I assume Saturday night could be a busy night?) After we were served our tacos we were shocked to receive tacos that were 90% filled with a really bad version of "Kentucky Fried Chicken" cole slaw that was supposed to be "Cilantro Lime Slaw". (Absolutely no cilantro and no lime by the way.) After scraping the cole slaw away we found two small pieces of water logged walleye with no flavor or seasoning that may have been at the bottom of a freezer earlier in the summer. (My wife took one bite and unhappily left the bar to look at their nice gift shop and did not return.) The reason I gave 2 Stars instead of 1 Star was that our server was fantastic. She could not have been more charming and attentive. If I go back (my wife told me she won't), it will be because of our server and the promise of great brisket that was once available previously. If you don't want to prepare for customers off season, then close down from November thru April and do it right for the "Locals" from May until October. But don't do what you did tonight. It is not fair to your servers, kitchen and especially your paying customers.

First course: Whipped brie crostini, honey, salsa matcha, almonds, lemon zest and flakey salt. These were heaven! Literally, I couldn't put enough in my mouth. The creamy whipped brie with the subtle spice of the salsa matcha, perfection. She had made a ton of these so we actually had leftovers for the next day! Second course: Arugula, pickled beets, citrus supremes, candied pecans, goat cheese, citrus balsamic dressing. This salad was so good! I am a huge fan of literally everything in this salad so I was so excited to see this on her menu! All the flavors so complimentary. Third course: Feta and herb panko crusted salmon, garlic lemon butter beans and artichokes, smoked pomodoro, pistachio gremolata (i had to google gremolata!) I am a HUGE fan of salmon and hers was cooked so well! Not overdone and or dry. The bean and artichokes were so decadent - I could have eaten a whole bowl of them. I literally saved my leftovers, because I couldn't eat the whole portion, and ate it for breakfast (I am dead serious!). Four course: Crème brulee, brown butter granola, macerated strawberries - the homemade granola was literally the best granola I have ever had! She made a ton so she left a large bag of it for us to munch on and it was eaten very quickly the next day! I am a creme brulee girl and this was so rich and creamy - one of the best I have ever had! Not only did she do a phenomenal job on all the food, she was super sweet and fun to talk to, AND she cleaned up literally THE whole kitchen! It was spotless. My working partners have come to look forward to our Christmas luncheon every year and I just know I'd have a riot on my hands if they didn't get their roast beef and garlic potatoes at Christmas!
