I generally don't give reviews, but I have been seeing Dr. Brian Marks for over ten years and felt it was past time to give him and his staff, Jaimee, their due. In short, they are great to work with. Jaimee is very professional, kind and efficient. She always tries to find you an appointment at a date and time that fits your schedule or preference. While you sometimes have to leave a voice message when she's on the phone with another patient, she returns calls faster than any other healthcare professional or facility I've ever worked with, even ones with much larger staffs. She even returned my call on a day the office is closed and got me in the very next day. When I have questions, she works seamlessly with Dr. Marks to get your questions answered in an efficient manner. One of the benefits with being a patient with a small primary physician practice is the personal and professional service. Dr. Marks is very personal and professional. He always explains his diagnosis and patiently takes the time to answer my questions. Once I start taking a medication he has prescribed my health improves very quickly. Dr Marks has been our family doctor for over 8 years. He deals directly with issues you bring to him with compassion and professionalism . His staff of just one is helpful, prompt and knowledgeable. She helps when she can and if the question requires her to check back with the doctor she gets back to me promptly. Prescriptions are also handled timely. Dr. Brian Marks seizes to amaze me with how unbelievably comprehensive and thorough he is. He not only connects with his patience as physician, but also introduces a more personal and educational approach. He truly cares for your physical and mental health, demonstrating that in the amount if time and effort he is willing to put in each visit. Before him, I had what I thought were good physicians, but he performs well beyond my expectations of any doctor, blowing everyone else out of the water. As you can tell, I can not praise him enough. I have been a patient of Dr. Marks for over 25 years. I can't say enough positive things about the guy. He of course is technically smart but has a way of explaining medical terms to us folks that just don't know. I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2009 and he is still my Dr. of choice and of course he takes care of my annual exams and any other minor sickness I may have. His office takes most insurance plans but a couple years back the company I was working for had an insurance plan that his office did not take, so I went to another healthcare provider. Nothing but problems with lab work, insurance payment and even the prescription medication for my Diabetes got mixed up. I Immediately went back to Dr. Marks and just paid out of my pocket (very reasonable office fee). Will not go anywhere else. read more

Dr. Marks and his staff are EXTREMELY RUDE! His staff actually hung up on me and refused to let me speak to Dr Marks even by callback. I have witnessed firsthand Dr. Marks getting into a loud verbal argument with one of his patients. Furthermore every time I've had an appointment with the doctor, his office is filled with pharmaceutical sales reps which he saw before me. The Good: I could state a few mediocre points, such as that the office was clean, but they aren't really of any great import. The Bad: The doctor only addressed part of my concerns, as I was very interested in seeking help on 2 different-but-related medical issues. Most of his focus was on one issue, with the other being set aside for another time. Though the first visit wasn't rushed, the second appointment did not feel the same. The doctor seemed eager to use scare tactics during our two conversations, focusing on the possible lethality of a condition, ignoring questions of severity or likelihood. He comes across as patronizing behind a slightly jovial veneer and attempting to scare someone as part of pushing a treatment plan is unprofessional in the extreme. The doctor suggested I obtain a basic blood test, which could be done via a blood draw at his office. I asked how much the testing would cost (I don't have insurance yet) and was told it would be between $100-200. The doctor was horribly wrong, as the bill was slightly under $500. Though his office did pay part of the bill and help reduce the total cost to me (after I complained), I still paid over $150 more than I had been led to expect. The Ugly: During my first visit to the office I handed the receptionist my driver's license to be photocopied. It wasn't until 3pm the next afternoon that I realized she'd never given it back to me. When I called back to see if I'd left it there her response was, "Oh yes! We have it right here for you in the desk drawer." Glad it wasn't lost, but if you'd had my card sitting around all day and you HAVE MY PHONE NUMBER, I believe a call back to me would be in order. In summary Dr. Marks is not a bad guy, but is not a doctor I intend on seeing again. I would not recommend him for your use as a general practice DO. read more

My health insurance broker researched and recommended Dr. Marks to me several years ago. He is always straightforward and insightful. He listens thoughtfully and clearly explains what is physically going on and then if appropriate makes referrals to other professionals that he would use for himself or his family. The Good: The doctor is thorough BUT he ordered blood work that insurance did not approve to be medically necessary...but I still paid for it. He does put things into layman's terms BUT he watches the clock a lot! The BAD: The admin staff was terrible. Returned calls after 2-3 times of calling to get anything done....always asked for "a good number to reach me at" ....duh you have it but don't call it! After they changed over to some outside billing company, it took a month or more to cash my $30 co-pay checks. They don't have a credit card machine in the office..WHAT BUSINESS ACCEPTS cash or check only! My insurance to this day has not been billed from a February and March visit! After giving up on the billing process I was called by an office manager..."I'm returning one of your MANY phone calls....in the 18 years I've been doing this, I've never had anyone complain that their insurance was not billed." UMMM....does the doctor want to get paid?? *******THE WORST....I WAS SENT ANOTHER PATIENTS TEST RESULTS INTO MY PORTAL!!!!!!!! I called and said this is not me...they said OOPS!! Being going to Dr Marks for 15 years, excellent internist, takes time with each patient and very supportive. Sometimes a bit of a wait, but ok as he takes the necessary time with each patient, sometimes I need that extra time, sometimes someone else needs it, so I get it. He is a pharmacologist also, and knows his drugs and keeps you on track for anything newer and better. I highly recommend him. read more

Dr. Marks Brian is our family doctor for ten years, always welcomed us with affection, respect and humanity, rare things nowadays. His professionalism is out of question, because he always has an answer to all our questions, and if he has doubts, immediately demand to know in order to give us the right answer and diagnosis. My wife I have been patients of Dr Marks for many years and I cannot put into words how lucky I feel to have found him. I had been going to see a doctor who became part of a group and when he retired I stayed with the group. I reluctantly left after being utterly dissatisfied with the way I was treated. Dr. Marks is a one man practice. He knows you as a person and will diligently work toward resolution of your issues. If you ask him why or why not follow a treatment regimen he will give you a clear answer. You are made to feel like an equal partner in your treatment and you are given the time and attention needed. Dr. Marks is a quality doctor that listened to any issues I was having during visits. He would provide me with a detailed explanation about what was going on and would be friendly in the process. I still continue to see him in spite of moving roughly 30 minutes away and will continue to see him. He is very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor which is an added bonus. The only thing that is a negative for me is that the office is closed on Wednesday and I have had to go to urgent care a few times because of that. There has been turnover in front office staff in the past and while most of the individuals there are friendly there have been some that are not incredibly polite or helpful. PROS-Listens to concerns, answers all questions, provides quality outside referrals, good bed-side manner. CONS-No office hours on Wednesdays. read more
