Makes commitments to work specific days, and despite several interem confirmation texts and emails from the customer, does not show up on the day scheduled, and does not give prior notice he doesnt plan to come that day. Mr. Spencer Hill's initial response on yelp was quick. My first impression was that he seemed cleancut and ready to do good work. He came over, handed me a card with email and phone number on it and said he was available Thursday and Friday. I said i would like to book him those days. He would give me an estimate. He sent an estimate. I said yes please. He took several days to get back to me, and then said he no longer could honor those days. He offere me monday. Although i had plan to leave the state, I again said yes please. I was only available to be there that week, and i changed my flight so i could meet him Monday. I sent some follow up messages. I sent a confirmation query the day before. He informed me the morning he was supposed to arrive to work that he couldn't come. Another problem is that he arbitrarilly wants to continue communication through the yelp platform, which is really just for finding businesses and sharing feedback. As a cultural norm, people communicate by phone, text and email for regular communication. It's weird to arbitrarilly move communication back to yelp after making phone/email/text contact. It's very odd to expect someone to use yelp like a texing platform on a continued basis. How would a customer even know to look there for ongoing messgaes? I hire a lot of workers and i have never encountered this before. It's especially odd after meeting in person and handing a customer a business card with a phone number and email on it. A business should take in to account what the customary mode of communication is, especially for the client base it serves. In particular, I feel strung along by this business at a very real cost.

After reading all the reviews, I am beginning to think Chris might be some kind of mythological…read morecreation. My experience seems to match that of almost everyone who has posted a review. In my case, I was placed in touch with Chris through GE appliance repair. GE was doing little help resolve our stove issue since the stove was no longer under warranty. Chris pressed me to contact GE and fight the company for an extended warranty repair since the problem was a defective design he has seen too many times before. When the company would not provide assistance, Chris laid out all the costs so I could make an informed decision on whether to proceed with the repair, which I chose not to do. He probably spent a good hour on the phone all total helping me with the issue, all without charge. He also gave me some amazing advice about a little known law in Maine called the "Implied Warranty Law." The statute is a powerful tool that extends warranties on most appliances to a minimum of four years. So bottom line, like so many others, I received fantastic customer support from a man who would not take a nickel from me. I was talking to a unicorn and just didn't know it...

Long story short over the phone Chris walked me through and helped me diagnose the problem. The knob had cracks at the base and for some reason that rendered it useless. in 1 min I had swapped the broken knob out with one of the others (1 of 4 on the machine) and I was back in business. He never came, didn't know my name, and basically helped me solve my problem with a less than 5 min phone call. It's actually a sigh of relief to know I've found someone that can do my appliance repair for me because next time I have an issue you better believe I'll be calling Chris again.

I have built Playsets that had eight boxes and I have built Playsets that had 110 boxes. They are a huge jigsaw puzzle. But they go together wonderfully and are so beautiful. I started out 35 years ago as a handyman. I have done restaurant repair and build cabinets and furniture and now my career is centered around CedarWorks and I am very thankful. They have a motto if you're unhappy were miserable. I have seen them in over backwards to take care of their clients. They are a big investment, but worth every penny.

The customer service over the years has been top notch. After a big storm the red flag on top flew away and they sent me a new one for free or for a small fee, twice over the past decade. If you like custom designing your own set, like I did, and like natural wood I highly recommend them. Our set is in Utah with long snowy winters and long hot, dry summers and I'm just now needing to replace some of the swings. Wasp's love the cedar so they recommend Beetour.com to use with it. If I had a choice to do it all over again I would not want a plastic or metal one found at playgrounds just because I prefer the look of wood for a backyard and I would definitely buy from Cedar Works again.
