I have been an independent installer for CedarWorks for around 28 years. Over the years I have moved sets that were 10 years old and still in good condition. I have built Playsets that had eight boxes and I have built Playsets that had 110 boxes. They are a huge jigsaw puzzle. But they go together wonderfully and are so beautiful. I started out 35 years ago as a handyman. I have done restaurant repair and build cabinets and furniture and now my career is centered around CedarWorks and I am very thankful. They have a motto if you're unhappy were miserable. I have seen them in over backwards to take care of their clients. They are a big investment, but worth every penny. read more

I am really surprised at the low reviews. I've had our Cedar Works custom play set for 11 years and it's still in great shape and was worth every penny. The customer service over the years has been top notch. After a big storm the red flag on top flew away and they sent me a new one for free or for a small fee, twice over the past decade. If you like custom designing your own set, like I did, and like natural wood I highly recommend them. Our set is in Utah with long snowy winters and long hot, dry summers and I'm just now needing to replace some of the swings. Wasp's love the cedar so they recommend Beetour.com to use with it. If I had a choice to do it all over again I would not want a plastic or metal one found at playgrounds just because I prefer the look of wood for a backyard and I would definitely buy from Cedar Works again. read more

We bought a $14,000 structure for our large daycare center four years ago. We were very happy at first and excited about the prospect of using a local company, however our structure quickly started to fall apart in pieces and broke very easily. It was explained to Cedarworks many times that the structure was going to be used in a commercial setting and we were assured that it could withstand that type of use. We had tried numerous times to get replacement pieces and/or someone from the company to come look at it to fix it but they declined to do so saying that our year time period was up. The structure is cracked and weathered but luckily for us we have a handy-man parent that donates his time fixing it for us. We are very disappointed in the customer service and the product, especially given the amount of money that we paid. read more

Disappointed in business tactics that are bait and switch. I was sent a catalog with one price, and decided to purchase. When I went to the website, the item was almost 25% higher in price. This higher price did not include shipping or tax, this was just the base price. I emailed the company asking how I could purchase with the catalog base price and the only email that was sent back gave me the option to purchase with the higher base price plus tax and shipping, no mention of the price discrepancy or why there was a difference in the first place. False and deceptive advertising on Cedarworks' part. read more

I don't even give it 1 star. The worst swing set ever. I loved it at first but literally after 2 months it started to turn into a black color. Shortly after that it started to fall apart and have marks all over it, and turn even more of an ugly color. The swings that it comes with started ripping after a few months and are disgusting. Worst part, I won't let my kids play on top of the bridge because it is shaky and I feel it's unsafe. For the amount of money I paid, it's not fully usable and it looks like I picked it out of the garbage. And worst of all, Cedarworks doesn't even care!! We have been working with cedar works for MONTHS now as we are planning our new indoor playground. From the beginning they have been amazing. The city required information that caused them to go above and beyond for our order. I am writing to vent my frustration with Cedarworks Playsets. I purchased a playset for my residence approximately ten years ago. The sales rep at Cedarworks told me that the playset would do well in south Louisiana. I had my concerns because of the climate but was reassured that I would not have any trouble. They even recommended that I use rubber mulch under the playset which I went ahead and purchased from another vendor for $12,000. Their website stated that the Serendipity would hold up even better in this damp climate. I went ahead and purchased it spending $46,000. After approximately four years I started having problems with rotting. They did replace the rotting pieces after going back and forth with me. The new salesman informed me that these playsets do not do well in this climate. To make matters worse, after I had purchased my playset, my mother purchased a set for approximately $18,000 and also my sister purchased one for approximately $20,000. So, as a family, we have spent $84,000. Now with the severe rotting that has taken place it can no longer be used. I contacted Cedarworks again and they have agreed to replace approximately half of the set but wanted me to pay for the remainder. My sister and my mother have already had theirs hauled off to the dump. They said it is not worth the aggravation that I have been through. I asked them how can I put the new pieces they sent back together with the rotting pieces. They informed me that this is all they would do or I can purchase a new set or pay additional thousands of dollars to replace the rotting pieces that they would not cover. I am so very disappointed in the customer service at CEDARWORKS. Two years ago, I ordered a Frolic 4 for my visiting grandchild. When it arrived and we put it together, we were confused by the fact that the baby swing rope was so long, the swing almost touched the ground. But the family was coming, and my resourceful husband just hung the swing from our arbor where the length did not matter. Two years later, in anticipation of another visit from our now two grandchildren, I called to see about expanding our set and mentioned the strange long ropes on the baby swing. The rep said something to me like, "Oh that was a problem we were having, and we should have sent you a replacement." But now, she said, since it was two years later, there was nothing they could do about it. Really? THEY made a mistake and it was up to ME to figure it out and contact THEM? I wrote an email to customer service about my disappointment, and now it is two weeks later and no one has responded AT ALL. So today I wrote to the company president, Mr. Brown. I hope he is aware of these problems in his company. What is so puzzling is the fact that this company was willing to lose potentially thousands of dollars of business from me because they did not want to replace a defective $25 dollar swing, or even talk about the problem. We had a beautiful set installed by Cedarworks last week. They came to our home at no charge and helped lay out the set they felt would be best for our grandchildren. Their pricing was very competitive and they installed the set very soon after. We think it looks great! We did have an issue with leveling the set, and they sent someone back within days to make it right. It's only been a few weeks since it was installed, but I am hopeful that it will last for years and grow along with our family. read more

We purchased an outdoor playset for our son and experienced some issues with the third party delivery service. Cedarworks "stepped up" and resolved the issue very much to our satisfaction. After over a year of use we experienced a couple of other issues that I suspect relate to the initially delivery problem. Again, cedarworks "stepped up" and has a clear plan to resolve the issue. These minor issues were not due to the company or the product, but the way they handled and resolved the issue was absolutely stellar. Enjoyed our playset for 9 years, but now the monkey bars have rotted (the rungs) to the point where my 8yo could just pull it out without applying much pressure! Yikes, and there's no way to replace the rungs. So be advised that although the literature states you can get 20 years, you might not. read more

We enjoyed ours for many years but when I called to replace rotted rungs I was also told they didn't sell replacements for my set so essentially it is now useless and all we can do is send it to the dump. Not quite the long life I originally was led to believe for the $. read more
