March 2024 update: The cable stabilizing the remaining two leaders on our basswood tree (ref'd…read moreabove) let go when one of the two anchoring screw-eyes came out of the leader, so I called Pinnacle back to inspect and offer a recommendation. Greg came, saw the problem, and explained that the technology has evolved somewhat since the original work was done four years ago: Now, instead of a cable, the best arborist practice is a reinforced band that goes around the leader on each end with a shock absorber in the middle of the span. That sounded good to me so we scheduled the work, and today Pinnacle's crew came to install the band. From the look of it, I'd say it is a clearly superior solution to this problem, and the cost was again reasonable. Pinnacle remains my recommended first call for any substantial tree work in central Maine.

They then did not respond to a text message wherein I asked about a price for a one-off visit of handyman work. I was impressed with the generally friendly and open presentation of the owner on his assessment visit. Based on that, if you are close enough for him to provide you with service, it could be a good relationship. Pricing seemed to align with others in the area for providers who say they are insured.
