Outside of that is the largest collection of quarter slot rides that I know of. They accept card payment or lets your kids pretend and don't pay to turn them on at all. Then there's a train ride and rideable animals for a fee. In Scheels they have a beautiful aquarium, a fun shooting range for a small fee and a ferris wheel that's only $1 per rider. Then upstairs they have a nice food court with clean restrooms and a variety of food options. I wish all malls were like this.

5 Stars for Unexpected Wonders at Eden Prairie Center!…read more Eden Prairie Center gets 5 stars from me after an Easter photoshoot turned into a fun adventure. I wasn't even planning on going to the mall, but it was worth the trip. What really surprised me was Scheels. The size of it is impressive, but the fact they had a real aquarium and a Ferris wheel?! That's a whole other level! It's cool to see a store go above and beyond with entertainment and attractions. I also loved how the staff were very helpful pointing me in the right direction. I didn't shop at any of the other stores so I can't comment on those, but overall it was nice. It was a beautiful day and I just enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. If you need to get out of the house, stretch your legs and be surprised by a unique shopping experience, Eden Prairie Center is a must visit. Scheels alone is worth the trip! Win for a fun unexpected outing.

Some shops are empty and others are being remodeled and opening again. I visited on a Friday (Valentine's Day) and it was pretty steady but not packed, I could find a place to sit down and relax by myself if I wanted to (and I did!) Shop selection is meh, I went into a few but didn't find anything to purchase which is just fine by me - I needed a place to hang out that was warm and this was it! Bubble tea, Caribou and smoothies to choose from - I didn't see a food court but I wasn't particularly looking.

Also a somewhat better food court would be cool, but there are a ton of options for food outside of the mall/in the area. They do host cool events from time to time like the traveling Hello Kitty Cafe, which is cool.

Although it deems itself as the oldest shopping centre in Rochester, it's really a plaza. It was established in 1952 and there was a major fire in 1971. I'm happy to report that these events were both well before my time! I dropped by this plaza a handful of times as a resident of Rochester. There used to be a gift shop that sold Midwest of Cannon Falls s'mores characters. I bought a few of these characters as Christmas ornaments and a larger one that was a lamp. They are still with me to this day, but this company folded, as did this gift shop. Cannon Falls is maybe a twenty-minute drive northwest of Rochester. I don't recognize that town since I moved away. It's the same about Miracle Mile. Hom Furniture is one of two businesses that rings a bell. There's a new grocery store called Fresh Thyme Market. I exited Highway 52 and you can't miss this supermarket's large sign from it. I'd estimate that there are roughly thirty businesses in this plaza. Olmsted Medical Center is still kicking around, which is the other place that has endured. This plaza is perfect for folks who live close by and don't want the bustling feel of being downtown. This shopping plaza is roughly two blocks away from the Mayo Clinic's St. Mary's Campus. There is plenty of parking at Miracle Mile. I'll need to check this plaza out more closely when I'm back again and it's not my final full day in Minnesota, especially Fresh Thyme Market. It was quite the flashback heading over here. There's no longer a shortage of recognizable brand-name stores, which makes it feel more like a true shopping destination again. There is a mix of luxury stores and every-day shopping which brings good value. That said, there are still a few odd, lesser-known shops scattered throughout with inconsistent or unusual hours, which can be a little confusing. The food options are decent. The traditional food court is a bit of a letdown, but there are better standalone options throughout the mall like Rustica Bakery, Pezzo Pizza, Yumi Sushi, People's Organic, and others. Having Kowalski's grocery store on-site is also a big plus and adds convenience. Entertainment-wise, there's more to do now with options like an escape room and Dave & Buster's. The mall is spacious, never feels overly crowded, and has plenty of parking, which makes it easy and stress-free to visit. Overall, the updates are a very welcome change. Southdale feels revitalized, easier to navigate, and much more enjoyable than it was a few years ago.

Although it is open 7 days a week, there are less than 30 stores, and in my opinion, only one restaurant that looks worthy of dining at. All shops and restaurants are located underneath UMR between Broadway and 1st Ave., and is within walking distance of Mayo Clinic and a few other neighboring hotels. I'm not clear on where the parking area is, however, parking is free at night and on weekends. Check this place out anyway. Your opinion might differ.

Disclaimer: I don't like malls…read more That said, River Hills Mall is pretty good. It's all on one level, so it feels a bit sprawling, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. No heights or vertigo or people throwing stuff (or other people) from balconies is a plus in my strange book. The carousel was a bit disappointing, smaller than I had imagined. Nonetheless, cool that there's a merry go round in a mall, even if I am a little too heavy to ride it. (120 pound weight limit.) Ok, a lot too heavy, gosh! It's fairly stylish and nice to wander around and get some steps in. Maybe you'll find something to buy or eat or a movie to watch. The highlight of our day at the mall, besides walking around to take a break from driving, was ending up the sporting goods store, Scheels, and buying a whole bunch of fudge there. The irony was not lost on me.

However; I also love coming randomly throughout the year to get updated clothing items. I typically like to check out under Armour and Nike, the Columbia store also has a separate outlet location as well. Recently, I feel like prices haven't been nearly as good as they used to, but in this economy, who can blame them. I would love to see a little bit more variation in the food court, it's mostly Asian cuisines and Cinnabon. All delicious but would love to see some more options. There's a ton of parking, but if you come on a busy weekend, you may not notice and still have to park far away. Bummed to see some recent retailers, leaving, they've been replaced with stores that my opinion were is great. Overall, a decent shopping trip, it's also in a great location. There's plenty of other stores/eating nearby. I recommend checking out the Twin Cities premium outlets if you haven't been there before.
