A hidden Korean supermarket in Burnaby. The store isn't as big as H Mart or Hannam market but it has almost all the necessity Korean items to make a good Korean meal. They offer hot food items here like Tteokbokki or Kimbab and etc. Service is not bad. They have free parking here. I did find that snack isle very limited. Not a lot of options. I got their Kimbab here and it was very tasty.

Korean supermarket located in Burnaby, with plenty of parking lot in the plaza. They also have a location in Coquitlam. Hot pre-made foods, fresh produce and delivery currently available. I usually come here for specialty Korean/Japanese snacks, but this time I tried their kimchi and house-cut Honeycomb Pork Belly. Kimchi ($8.99/1L): made in-house, and it's less fermented and sour as it is made fresh daily Honeycomb Cut Pork Belly ($15+): thick and fatty cut of pork belly, cut specifically in a honeycomb pattern so it's quick/easy to cook, while locking in the juiciness so it doesn't get too dry. It does get quite oily once it's cooked, so I'd recommend draining the oil, and placing it on a tissue to soak up the excess oil before serving. I had it with unmarinated and served with gochujang on lettuce, but feel free to marinate it as well.

I love this supermarket! Prior to Covid, I would always stop by, but since they have a few things on UberEats, I usually just order using the app. Their tteokbokki is sooo satisfying, the spice is actually there which I am a huge fan of because I love spice. They also use an abundance of mozzarella cheese curds to balance out the flavours. I am a fan of their kimbap as well, they are fresh and a large portion. Over the summer, I've been addicted to their K-Ice Cream package which they sell on UberEats, where you get a surprise bag of Korean ice bars ~ so far I've enjoyed all the delicious flavours, they are so nostalgic! I also love the surprise aspect, since you don't know what you are going to get.

Be warned when buying frozen shabu shabu beef. Don't get cheated!

A word of caution for buying the frozen shabu shabu beef (ribeye) from Assi Market Coquitlam branch. The meat are usually packed in black Styrofoam with cling wrapped on top. A few days ago, I bought a tray of frozen ribeye for hotpot but was shocked to discover that the top layer was nice ribeye meat BUT the bottom layer was another type of cheaper beef meat. I went to the store to investigate and verify with the meat department. I took a photo of the pack I bought and showed him. He apologized and said he would refund me with the receipt which I did later on. This is unscrupulous practice. Oh my gosh, this is not right and I won't patronize this store again. PLEASE BE WARNED of getting their frozen shabu shabu beef!!!

I tried tokbokki here and it was so amazing. $6.99 for a bowl of spicy rice cake and $3.99 for a huge roll of kimbap. They start selling perilla leaf plant also of you want to grow some for you Korean bbq.

    * Korean market with many Japanese products too * This little Korean market offers a nice selection of Korean products as well as a smaller selection of Japanese products mixed in. Prices are pretty reasonable. Makes a perfect stop to pick up a Korean popsicle after a spicy meal nearby. I enjoyed my melon popsicle for a whopping total of 99 cents. Had to smile a little bit at the parking sign in the lot though: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/3UR4Xg6Xz3HvoY7o88rIgg?select=vzu9RBb0wUcDGr7kEwEWxg Clearly time to refresh the printing on that one!

A not so big market that specializes in Korean and Japanese goodies.... Neat place with huge parking lot shared with other business around..restaurants,furniture etc Amazing place where you can find all kinds of sesame oil, korean and japanese marinating sauce....hmmmmm big time theres fresh, frosen meat, poultry, and foods from the water that includes crustacians, shell fish and sea weeds veggies and fruits available aswell.....some asian veggies here are a bit pricey but the local grown veggies and fruits are just priced right, The one that really catches my attention was the mackarel and the giant squid, both packages has 3 big size mackarel and for the squid theres 3 huge/giant size squid/package....both price is $5.99 omg ive been around coz i love to cook but this are way way cheaper compared to otherplace that sells thesame items.....i bought 1 each just to try.....i assured everyone now that i tasted them no problem with the freshness and quality Service is excellent bilingual crew some speaks japanese too aside from english and koreans...... i love this place...and ill come back again soon......i wanna try all the meat they used for hot pot,,,,,lovely....

Why not, support them against their heavyweight competition, H Mart, who have over 100 locations worldwide but I digress. Looks big fr outside, a bit cramped especially the right side with the tight aisles and all. Didn't manage to find the spicy seaweed so regular will do, probably healthier haha. Japanese rice can sure be expensive, as per pic. Another good place when I'm in area to get some snack food, on sale today, some roasted corn chips. Still more Korean overall than Japanese. A bit of kitchen ware in the far back right corner. Credit cards OK. Lots parking.

It is located right next door to Kim's Mart and is accessible via a flight of stairs leading upwards. They carry all sorts of Japanese goods. I picked up a few bottles of pink coloured Sakura cola there, and some prepackaged seasoned kelp which I like using at home to make onigiri. Usually I do it all from scratch using dried up sheets of Dashi Kombu. The prepackaged ones will save me a lot of work the next time I want to make them! We also found many items that were expired or close to their expiration date. There were huge discounts on these items. (eg. boxes of powdered drink mixes) We're fine buying these kinds of products as the "Best Before" dates don't necessarily mean "No Good after..." to us! I appreciate that this store openly admits that these products have expired or are near their expiration date. Gotta love the honesty! Quite heartbroken to learn that this place has been put on the market and may be gone soon. Boo hoo! We only just discovered this hidden gem. If this place does go, hope that we can squeeze in a few more visits before it's gone!
