One of the best grocery stores I have ever been to! High quality food for really low prices - you can't get better than that! Their produce is also super fresh and lasted a while in my fridge. Employees and fellow grocery shoppers are extremely nice. Their prepared meals are also very tasty and cheap. I had their buffalo chicken wrap for lunch which was $6 and nearly restaurant quality. Bravo, Market Basket! read more

Yesterday, June 29, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, I was in the Market Basket parking lot. I stopped my vehicle to allow an employee who was returning shopping carts to the store to pass. While moving the line of carts, the employee accidentally struck my vehicle, causing scratches to it. Fortunately, the damage was limited to the bumper only. I believe employees handling large numbers of carts in the parking lot should exercise greater caution to help prevent similar incidents in the future. read more

Market Basket - Grocery Near Me - Ashland, Massachusetts

The MB brands costs far less than the name brands (i.e. mayonnaise) and are just as good. Service is excellent. Italian pastries like Cannolis are as good as the ones in the Boston's North End and far less expensive. I would not shop anywhere else. read more

The Market Basket butter I bought this week had an expiration date of 10/20/2025, I usually don't check the expiry date but will do in the future. 1 star The fish department is great as it has fresh seafood and a wide assortment of fish. 5 stars read more

Gross! I purchase some hamburger meat which was supposed to be 93% lean. The top layer of the meat is colored with pink dye, making it attractive. The center is black as though they cooked the meat and place it in the package. I had to return it. Gross! Gross! Gross! Someone is doing a mediocre job at the meat department. Buyer be ware! read more

Never again! aisles so crowded with pallets, employees not able to help me due to language barrier. The customer base is rude and loud. The Hudson store (MA) on the other hand is very nice, in every way. I now drive the extra distance for a good shopping experience. read more

No frills super market with great prices. They have great prices, awesome veggies with an array of different types of veggies not just cukes, tomato, and iceberg. I am excited to see Kale, a variety of greens and low prices! $.69 for Romaine Lettuce and green beans for $.89! The bread is baked right there and there is nothing like picking up a hot loaf and the feeling the warm steamy aroma which makes me want to buy butter and slather it on right in the parking lot...oh yum! The store is super busy all the time but why wouldn't it be? The parking lot is terrible. The flow doesn't work. There are people trying to park and walk and carts being brought back but everyone puts up with it to get the savings $$$$ cha ching! The best time to go is during the weekday T,W, Th but I've never seen the place slow. read more

Take your worst day at work. That feeling when it's 4 o'clock and your head hurts from your neck to your ears. You're tired and don't know why you keep doing this. You think about your decisions in life and wonder how things may have turned out differently had you done this and done that. You're overwhelmed. All you want to do is get home and have a dinner, maybe a drink - and reset to deal with another day. And then you realize that you're in the 12 items or less line at the Ashland Market Basket. And it's 5pm. And all you needed was an onion. There are 3 people in front of you. One of them has 27 Chobani yogurts that somehow counts as one item. The cash register is being held up by a roll of receipt paper. The cashier needs a void on the 28th chobani because they accidentally scanned it twice. But it's so cheap. That onion you needed was probably .59 a pound. You deal with this because when the employees gave management the finger a few summers ago, you dealt with Shaw's and Whole Foods and your grocery bill went up $30 a week. Market Basket - the Ashland Market Basket in particular, is like a time machine where the only thing that is recent is the product, and even that you double check the sell by label on. When they updated the produce department over the summer, you finally knew what it was like to go to a grocery store in the 90s. And there is no worse place on earth than this place within a week of thanksgiving or Christmas. But you will always come back. You know you are part of some unwritten bargain where you trade your soul for cheap groceries. It's okay to hate yourself for this, because you will hate everyone else in aisle 3 deciding over Raisin Bran - but they hate you too. read more

I have a love hate relationship with this store - I LOVE the prices but HATE the shopping experience...... If you are shopping on a budget you can't beat this place price wise. If you are a snotty I only eat organic and expensive food kind of person DO NOT COME HERE! They do have some organic options but nothing like you would find in a Whole Foods or other type of market. I only have time to grocery shop at the crack of dawn on Sundays - turns out that is the perfect and only time I would ever come to this store. It gets extremely packed on the weekends and the fresh veggies and even the shelves become very low in inventory and you end up not being able to get some of the veggies/fruit you may have wanted. The fish is always fresh and I believe delivered daily - the older gentleman that works the fish counter on Sundays is an absolute doll and loves to make suggestions. If you are going to the deli - run past everything when you first get there and get your tag - after that do your entire shopping and then come back to wait for your number to be called! Once your done waiting in that line you will almost definitely be waiting in another long line to cash out even though they have every register open. I love when you walk in to the store in the morning and can smell the fresh bread baking and all of the pastries! read more

I grew up in the North Shore so that meant that my whole life so far I have been getting groceries at Market Basket - you can't beat the prices and wide selection of items. Plus, families rely on this specific grocery store. I recently moved to the area and started shopping here. Unfortunately, it's not my favorite location. The small store means a cramped shopping experience every weekend and for me, it's not worth it. I only come here to pick up a few items but it leaves me feeling sad that my favorite grocery store is no longer my go-to in my new home city. I wished there would be a larger store in this area so I wouldn't have to dodge shopping carts all the time! read more

For what it is it's fine. You know going in it's about their prices. So dont complain when you experience some drama. Best advise is to go when they first open in the am. Some items might not be stocked yet but you wont be stressed. Employees are always friendly and helpful. read more

This MB has everything! They cater to the local Brazilian and Central American population with an entire aisle for Goya products, of course. But they also have enough organic and vegetarian items to satisfy my daughter's diet. Their staff is generally helpful and the place is fairly clean. Seriously though, where else can you get ten pound bags of rice, plantains, tempeh or ground coriander all under one roof? Deli and fish counters are satisfactory. Nice breads. While it's not Whole Foods but it's not pretending to be either! read more

The prices at Market Basket can't be beat. Every register is occupied by a cashier which is a rarity these days. Market Basket is almost always busy with shoppers and my one gripe is that there are always workers stocking the shelves which makes it difficult to get down the aisles. Of course, the shelves are always well stocked.... Can't have your cake and eat it too! read more

My family recently moved to Natick and this Market Basket is the closest store. I am very surprised that a city the size of Natick doesn't have a store, but the drive is relatively short to Ashland. I've been a Market Basket fan for years. Who can argue with the huge savings when comparing with their competitors? This store is not the largest one but has all the things I am usually looking for on my shopping list. Again, worth the drive from Natick but I wouldn't be sad if they eventually open a Market Basket in my neighborhood. read more

Great selection and prices ( best round) and helpful employees it's a favorite of my family.

At the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic, the Ashland, MA Market Basket has an efficient system in place to control the number of customers in their store, and the Ashland, MA Market Basket has all of the practices that you'd expect to be in place, for your health and safety, and food safety. The store has almost everything you'd need, and excellent prices. I like the fact that Market Basket stocks shelves throughout the day. As has been said by other reviewers on Yelp, there is no shortage of Market Basket customers on weekends, so the Covid 19 Pandemic line, outside of the store, can be very long. If you can, best to shop at Market Basket in Ashland, on weekdays. Pre-Covid 19 Pandemic, the inside of the Ashland, MA Market Basket was mobbed on weekends. The employees are kind; many employees speak less than conversational English. read more

DO NOT GO ON WEEKENDS! It is absolutely DREADFUL! there is no fucking room to move, no one has any idea how to get out of each others way, no one apologises when they slam into you with their carriage, the check out lines take forever. It's all around a HORRID experience. The staff is all over the place the clogging up every isle restocking crap that wasn't running short in the first place. Just spend the extra money and go to stop and shop where you dont want to pull all your hair out just because you wanted to get a gallon of milk. read more

Long time shopper and I'm telling you overall quality has been slipping in a lot of little ways and not so little ways.

We have been going to the Ashland MB for years. We live right next to a Stop & Shop in Framingham and will drive the extra distance to Ashland to do our weekly shopping there. The savings are amazing and on big trips, we save an average of 25-35% over other stores. We will admit that the store is older and not as big as the newer MBs. It can make shopping a bit challenging, with narrow isles and the constant restocking they have to do to keep up with the volume. But we find the selection, quality and prices more than make up for the challenges. We have read reviews critical of the employees and don't agree, from our experience. Yes, there are many ethnic employees and English may not be their first language, but they have always been friendly, helpful and have gone out of their way many times to help us find something. The deli and meat sections are great at this location with lots of selections and good turnover. The deli is very busy and the wait can be long, but we just take a number and do our other shopping in the meantime. The produce section is OK, but I'm a real stickler on my produce. The bakery is good and we love their pecan/raisin bread (sells out fast) and their fresh Italian bread. We have ordered birthday cakes from them and they are a family favorite. They recently put in a small prepared food section and we always buy a fresh made sub to have for lunch or dinner. It's a great buy and always tasty. As we said in the beginning, this is an older/smaller store and as a result, has some challenges, but the people, management and the value can't be beat. We love the MB family of stores and respect their business philosophies and will do our best to support them with our dollars. You should too. read more

Literally the best super market in Metro west when everything is factored in. Clearly the best value. I can save 50 dollars PER WEEKLY trip over ANY Stop and Shop. Great selection of food. Yes it can be crowded at time. Yes the aisles are a bit narrow...and the deli...well get your number, do your shopping and come back because it is always crowded. But lets face it, why would I pay 2 or 3 dollars more per pound for deli food, 2 dollars more per pound for ground beef, chicken etc? bread? 2 or 2.50 for the same 4 dollar loaf at S&S. great mustard selection. Plochmans alone makes it worth it. same for salad dressings. great ethnic food variety as well as all the standards. Produce is fresh and reasonable All the employees are friendly and helpful. In this day and age having someone with an accent help you shouldn't cause you a problem. if it does, move to alabama or something. read more

I shop here only for emergency needs since it's on my way home. Otherwise, I drive to Bellingham instead. I should have known this location is bad news when I got out of my parked car and stepped out right next to a hypodermic needle on the ground. On a recent visit, their freezer cases had completely failed and leaked everywhere. It was not cleaned up and caused a terrible sewer smell. I can't believe they kept the store open under these conditions. Thankfully I was in and out in minutes. How shoppers stayed for longer I do not know. As with all Market Basket locations, this store offers excellent prices on a wide variety of products. They have good produce and meats, too. It's the general upkeep of this MB that makes me avoid it. It doesn't often feel clean or inviting. So I stay away, unless I absolutely have to go. read more

If low prices are your deal, this is your store. Otherwise, this place is horrible. Pallets in the aisle. Shoppers walk around like zombies, they stop dead, turn around, no comment. The help is the worst. They either pretend they don't speak English or really don't. More than once I've gotten the excuse it wasn't their aisle when I asked for help. When I have gottenr help, it's rude and unfriendly. Are the prices attractive? Yes. I'm so sick of cashiers asking how I am when they are clearly required to do so but it's meaningless. I've shopped in the Salem New Hampshire Market Basket and it is a gem. The Ashland store is just a chore. I'll continue shopping here but I always come out angry. read more

No frills, good prices, that being said, I can't stand shopping here. It's crowded, messy, and I have a hard time matching up the flyer price with the marked price of the goods. MB is 3 minutes from Shaw's and SO much cheaper. But Shaw's is a much more pleasant shopping atmosphere. Prices at Shaw's with coupons and specials rival MB but requires more homework if you're willing to do it. I am. read more

Yeah it's not Whole Foods, it's not Trader Joes. But for what it is, which is dirt cheap basics no frills supermarket, it definitely does really really well. Expect longer lines on weekends, but if your willing to save some coin in return for some time and bargain hunting to find the diamonds in the rough (and a lot of it can be pretty rough), this is the place to shop. Market Basket has the price/quality ratio nailed down perfectly. Also fun to find some old school item that you never even know they still made (or it could have been made in 1985 and just been in the isles since) read more

Can I rave about a supermarket? Yes, as a serious bargain hunting foodie, I mainly shop here since moving to Mass. Their every day prices on just about everything cannot be beaten. The produce is good to great quality and the variety is amazing for a grocery store. Their bakery is excellent. I love their day old bread rack. But I really love their fresh seafood sales. I have mad some amazing things like fresh deep fried haddock, cioppino with fresh tilapia, fresh calamari, fresh clams and shrimp! It is a somewhat draining experience as the store is almost always packed and navigating the crowded aisles is crazy. But it's worth the savings. read more

I was very enthusiastic about Market Basket when I first started shopping there, but my love has waned over time. It's unquestionably the least expensive place to buy produce, dairy, and meat. The employees are friendly, which is rare these days, and counts for a lot. However... The aisles are very crowded, not just with people, but with pallets of stock. Always. Often you can't keep moving down an aisle until 10 people with carts have passed you from the opposite direction - think of a narrow two-way street when they've closed half of the street for construction. I can't speak for other locations, but in the Ashland store most of the employees don't speak English very well. They're pleasant, but good luck getting help finding something. The other day I needed pea pods, and the first two people I asked got a blank stare and then told me they didn't speak English, and the third asked what I was looking for and then showed me to the pears. The smell near the seafood is overwhelming. I walk past it quickly and wouldn't consider buying any. Bottom line? I shop there sometimes, especially when I need a lot of dairy and produce. Some days, though, I just can't face it. I know I need to allow extra time and patience, and I don't always have those things in abundance. ;) read more

What can I say, it's a Market Basket. Prices are rock bottom low, produce is good quality and is almost always top notch in freshness because it's so cheap it doesn't have time to sit and go bad. Much of the staff speaks a little English, but everyone is friendly. read more

Nightmare. Never any parking. Aisles are easily 3' narrower than a normal market, they do all their restocking during the day with pallets and jacks everywhere and the sheer volume and class of people who shop here is insane and fill in the blank. Horrible customer service, inferior products...here's a few tips for the braindead sexist pigs who run this establishment: 1) condescendingly telling young female customers that "meat comes from an animal" and "you take a risk when you buy from our meat department" in a voice that you think hides your sarcasm and contempt for us (how dare we complain about your idiot trainee selling my eyesight issue afflicted mother the wrong product, in a polite way) isn't customer service, nor does it get me to go away. 2) giving us not only 1lb less of what we bought originally, but the wrong cut of meat again (we showed you boneless shortribs, explained what we were doing, etc. If you're such an "expert", why can't you tell the difference between the two?) and only after i went to the complaint department, also isn't customer service and encourages me not to shop here. 3) LITERALLY BLAMING THE CUSTOMER FOR YOUR TRAINEE'S MISTAKE. Seriously? Again, aren't you guys supposed to be the experts? 4) "You take a risk when you buy meat here." Direct quote from their 14 year "expert." Enough said. Oh, and I wasn't even a new customer. My family has been going here for years. We've spent thousands and thousands of dollars here. We are not a pair of morons trying to rip you off. But thanks for treating us that way, and then thinking you could get away with a half-assed attempt at fixing the problem. We'll never shop here again, and neither will anyone we know. Spend a dollar or two more and go to Shaw's, instead. They can be annoyingly pricey, but it's worth it not to put up with the headache I received from this interaction. read more

Horrible Market Basket....And Filthy!!! Arthur D. Demoulas you are a great man. Your stores have given us awesome prices and great service. But this Ashland Location is terrible and disgusting. I live in Ashland and I drive 25 minutes away to go a newer and better MB where management and people working there are nice and treat you with great respect. It's true about what other reviewers say. Their manager is a tyrant. I've seen first hand instances but I'm not mentioning them here. The Ashland Location has little choices for healthy choice food options and caters to the obese clientele of lower middle class Framingham and Ashland that can't afford the more pricy healthier choices. Because it's a smaller store, it lacks space and of course the healthier choices get the boot from the shelves because of the lack of space and the lower income people won't buy them because they're more expensive. Not to mention is the old stock not being rotated and you come home finding you've bought food past its expiration date. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE...The produce is always old or older and goes bad quickly. ALL THE TIME!.....ALSO UNACCEPTABLE!......Finally, I had to use the rest room in the Ashland MB and mistakenly walked into the most dirty and disgusting stock room. It's no wonder how the Board of Health has not shut this dump down. Arthur D. Demoulas , STAND UP AND TAKE NOTICE ABOUT HOW BAD THINGS ARE HERE AND FOR GOD'S SAKE DO SOMETHING! I'm ready to call the Ashland Board of Health to report all of these concerns because sometimes I NEED this Market Basket when I can't drive to the one I truly love...... read more

Aside from being busy as hell most of the time, this is a great place to shop. It is far cheaper than other competing grocery chains and is worth the time and effort to shop here. The Market Basket store brands as well are far superior to the store brands of other chains like Stop & Shop. Since store brands are cheaper than national brands, it makes it even better. Give me Market Basket oatmeal vs. Quaker Oats any day. If you can get their bread after it is freshly made, that can make the trip worth it by itself. We go to Market Basket weekly, to shop the specials and our needed staples. Prices are excellent compared to regular prices at other supermarkets. The staff is very hard-working, very pleasant and helpful. The bakery has beautiful cakes and pastries, and I especially love the cannolis. I like a lot of the Market Basket products, which are usually lower priced than the name brands, and are of excellent quality. We often get a rotisserie chicken, hot off the spit, and that is a most reasonable dinner option. My husband often gets a delicious roast beef sub sandwich made to order, at a very reasonable price. This may not be the most modern Market Basket, but I love it! read more

Your the best friends I've ever had from the girls with the mops!! Market basket is the best!! (Our names are Emily and Peyton)!!

Simply the best! Since moving to Boston, we shopped at Star/Shaw's, Stop & Shop, and Roach Brothers. Not much difference between and among them. For years, a sister told me to try Market Basket. We stumbled on the Ashland store about a year ago and have happily been going there ever since. The prices--for everything--are amazing. No contests, no gasoline discounts, no free turkeys (with $500. spending), just low prices. We estimate that we save at least $75.00 per week. The vegetables and fruits are fresh, high quality, and sold at much lower prices than at other market. For example, they almost always have six or seven varieties of apples at $0.99 per pound. (Other markets often have one person stocking the fruits and vegetables. MB has a full-time person just stocking the apples while two or three other workers and handling the vegetables and other fruits. The Deli has the same brands as other markets at much lower prices. My kids love Land o' Lakes American cheese, which MB sells for $4.99 and, on sale, at $3.99. Star Market has it on sale this week for $4.99 and normally sells it for $6.99. Other reviewers have complained that the store often is crowded (true) and that checkout lines are long (also true). The Ashland store is relatively small but people have told me other, larger MB stores also are crowded. However, we never have trouble navigating through the store because people are polite and, at checkout, we have found that the lines move much faster than at competing markets. They often have two baggers at each register during busy times. We have heard about the mammoth Market Basket store in Chelsea but have not been there yet. A sister tells me that it takes longer to shop because the store is so big but they have a greater selection from which to choose. We will go just to experience it. My advice is: try it for yourself. You probably will be a convert. read more

Best prices and value in the area. There are larger MB stores in other communities, but the size and layout of this store is just right for me --- it is large enough to have everything one needs, but not so large that you get lost and can't find items. The store is run efficiently and the staff is courteous and helpful. The produce section has a good variety of fruits and vegetables, many sourced locally. High sanitation and health standards --- never feel unsafe here during COVID, and other customers are careful with social distancing/wearing masks. read more

How have I never shopped here before. And I go to Ashland once a week on average. This place is cheap. Cheaper than BJs - without necessitating the bulk purchases. And I guess it's the locale - but the ethnic food selection is great. I specifically stopped in for dry black beans - there was a huge selection - different brands and different sizes. Ended up also grabbing some finger sandwiches for lunch for $1.99. Amazing place. read more
