He seemed attentive and the next steps were to have him go to the house to measure and preview things. I never heard from him again. His office did call to let me know that they were going to go to the house and after they had been there to measure I never heard back from them in any shape or form. Totally ghosted me and I had several large projects on my list that I thought would be right up their alley. No worries. I found another company and things went smoothly and I have several projects scheduled and materials already secured and purchased. Silver lining that they never called back, but totally unprofessional. I found it really odd that the owner of the company would not email, or text me after a 30 minute project review but have the company rep communicate with me instead. That is a first for me and I have done dozens of jobs on multiple rentals and primary residences over the years.

There were no major issues to take care of when we did our final walkthrough and they were very quick about fixing any of the minor issues we picked out. Other companies we approached for our custom project were all cost plus builders and started out at much higher rates than G.J. Gardner. We also looked into a few other fixed cost builders for the project but they were either not willing to do a custom home or did not seem to have an understanding for the mountain home design we were trying to achieve. I don't think I will ever need another home, but if I did, I would go with G.J. Gardner again.

Dream Finders refuses to accept responsibility, blames normal settling, doesn't accommodate scheduling, and has very poor communication. I would NEVER recommend them.

On closing day all the issues pilled in. We signed our closing documents while items were being fixed. So my biggest gripe is the hassle if getting things done first couple of months. It's a fight for everything. We still have a damage garage, roof, gutter since we moved in not fixed. The dish washer Lennar selected for our house steams right into the granite and drips on the floor. Our entire kitchen floor has water damage. Their (Lennar)solution is to put a mat or a bucket below when running the dishwasher. All the closets were not anchored down. One master closet already came down. Brad nails holding it down.

My husband and I just completed a major remodel of our home in Boulder. The house, built in 1985,…read morerequired major updating. After talking with multiple contractors and receiving bids, or should I say, guess estimates, all varying from low, mid range to high, we were eventually introduced to George Raffenspeger, owner of Taylor Custom Homes. He and his lead manager and master carpenter, Chad, were an excellent team. They organized reliable subcontractors, all professionals in their craft. I can easily imagine the nightmare we would have experienced without George. We paid him to give us a DETAILED estimate. Requiring time on George's end, if we used him, the money for the estimate would and was applied to the project. He was spot on accurate. George directed us to suppliers which saved us significant amounts of money without compromising our design choices. (FYI: Markup at many kitchen and bath designer showrooms is HUGE!) He also provided alternatives which other contractors never brought to the table. For example, we wanted a new contemporary stair railing. He suggested, Joan of Arc, a fabricator in Longmont. Also, he suggested Windsor Windows, a Colorado company which we had no knowledge of until George gave us the opportunity to compare their quality and price with other window companies. Had we found George at the start of our project, my husband and I would have saved a great deal of time and money. Choosing Taylor Custom Homes we received the best in options and craftsmanship. Our Windsor Windows are beautiful and energy efficient. Chad's trim work, and carpentry, superb. I want to add we had a budget. Our house has 6 panel fir doors, all original. One contractor said painting our doors would be too costly and we should purchase all new MDF. Not true. Our painter, Gary, sanded and painted ALL of our fir doors. We changed out the old hardware and the cost was equal to purchasing MDF doors. Save yourself time and a lot of unexpected surprises and expense. Taylor Custom Homes does not have a website but has been in business for over 30 years. I phoned previous Taylor Custom Homes customers from the company's reference list and their accolades were the same. Sooooo, here's consistency and tremendous customer satisfaction.
