Caleb and Joey sell Lemons. This dealership sold me a lemon vehicle. They hid the lemon law under the term buy back vehicle. The truck is purchased was a 2025 Chevy Silverado. 11,000 miles on it. I drove it for 14 days and only 700 miles on it. Trucks engine light came on, the ESC light, traction light, and the truck has no acceleration or power. Not to mention it idles extremely hard at stop signs and lights. They have been very difficult with trying to unwind the deal. Long story short, they sold me a truck that is currently undriveable. They will rush the deal, they won't listen to your concerns as a customer. It's always an excuse with them. Avoid them at all cost. read more

This is the picture of pure negligence! Mark Sweeney dealership literally almost took my life and that of 3 other innocent drivers by allowing a 22 year old, without insurance, to "test drive" a muscle car, according to the police he was driving more than 120mph. Flipped over a construction was into incoming traffic, hit another car then landed on mine. Gratefully everyone lived, but since the driver was uninsured, I had to pay $1,000 deductible, miss a week of paid work, total car loss. I met with the dealership, no lawyers, just asking them to do the right thing and minimally compensate the loss. Radio silence, they take no responsibility, will not even call back my insurance agency. Now I have to buy a car and deal with the long term impact, I have to drive for my work and have yet to get on a highway. There are lots of family owned dealerships in Cincinnati, the competition is steep. I recommend Wyler dealerships. I told them the situation and they have offered to help me find a safe option when I am ready to fully drive again. This was not an accident, it is negligence and a dealer who won't take responsibility tells me all I need to know about how they will deal with customers. Bought our truck from this dealer. They were the only dealer that had what we were looking for in Cincinnati. No problems for many years. When it hit 100 K miles I called and made an appointment. Took it in. Asked what this was going to cost. Got a I don't know. But we will tell you once we get into it. No one came in the waiting room and talked to me. When it was finished got the bill and it was over $400. Ok, paid the bill. Got a call the next day and said they said the printer was out of paper and we owed $700 more. I paid it. Asked for the bill to be emailed to me. Never got it. Called three times and still haven't gotten it. I have no idea what they did. We live 90 miles away so I haven't been able to just run over and ask for it. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and I won't be buying a new truck from them in the future. read more

December 1, 2024 Dear Mr. Sweeney, During the week of November 11, I called your service department to schedule an oil change for my son and spoke with Kari (Unsure of the spelling, my apologies) and she set up an appointment for Friday, November 15 at 9:15 a.m. I made it clear to Kari that Conor was only to get an oil change when he came to the dealership. My husband is a veteran technician for a GMC dealership in Toledo and typically completes all of his maintenance. However, we were planning a trip to Virginia and Conor required an oil change. My husband told me to call a dealership and schedule the oil change before our trip. We wanted Conor to have it done as he was going to be driving by himself and meeting us there. When I spoke to Conor and let him know when his appointment was I made it clear to him that he was only supposed to get an oil change and if he needs anything to call his dad. Conor arrived, asked for an oil change and proceeded to wait for his car. When he got the bill he was a little disturbed because he didn't know the cost was going to be $112.18. Conor was very upset but paid the bill very unsure as to why it was that much when he was supposed to get just an oil change. I called him later in the day and asked him what he paid then asked him to take a photo of the receipt. I was very confused as to why, when I asked Kari for just an oil change, did he receive additional service that he did not need nor requested. I then sent the photo of the receipt to my husband. The first thing my husband did was call the Service Manager, Kyle. He left a message for Kyle and he did return his call. Jon, my husband, did ask him why Conor was charged for the additional services. Kyle spoke to the person that wrote Conor up and he said that Conor requested those additional services. That is quite the lie. My son wouldn't know what to ask for unless we told him this is why I told him to ask for nothing but an oil change. My husband works on his car. He has never looked at the options available. On the receipt, the technician used an extra quart of oil. The document to look up for my son's 2017 Chevy Cruze is XXXXXX. Typically, the parts department rounds the amount of oil up to the next quart. The above document number states that the car takes 4.3 quarts of oil. Not only did they round up, but they added a quart. This would be considered fraud. You are not supposed to do this! My question is did you just do this to my son because he is a young college student or do you do this to everyone? I know the dealership my husband works for does not do this because it IS fraud! When Jon spoke with Kyle he said he would be willing to reimburse only 10 dollars for the tire rotation because Conor "requested" the additional services. Kyle said that they would reimburse the $10.00 and as of today, they have not done so. It has been too long to wait for this reimbursement. Once again tried Mark Sweeny service as my truck needed to be serviced for a recall (airbags) . Truck was leaking what I thought was power steering fluids at the time so I asked for them to check it out and quote pricing to repair as I am about to start shopping for a new one. Received a service call where they told me the hose needed replacement and it would cost $460. So I went ahead with the repair. A week later the truck is still leaking fluid. Call GMC and the guy tells me the leak must be elsewhere in the system. So they have my money and still have a leak. . Needless to say you do not take my car into service to get it half fixed. My wife and I recently purchased a pre-owned Mercedes from Mark Sweeney. Caleb was our sales associate. We were there close to closing, so Caleb and the MGR made the sales process and paperwork process go extremely quick and smooth. The only thing that bothered me was when we left the dealership, we almost ran out of gas. Don't they put gas in the cars? I called Caleb the next day and he apologized and said he would get a fuel gift card sent to us. After a couple of weeks, still no gift card. Ken, my sales guy, while acting like he didn't have high expectations for us buying, still found us a great car, that has been sitting in the back side of the lot. It seemed that most people had forgotten about it. It was a great car, let me take it out on a test drive by myself. He seemed a little more no-haggle, but it was already a great price for it. We sat down, to get some credit check info, but of course it was after 5 so it would take another day to hear something. He did call me the next day, but needed pay stub copies, as my co-signer had only been at his job 5 months. I faxed them over, and then talked to him the next day to find out that he got them and was working on it. And that was the last I heard... Drove an hour and a half to come get it, found a few more knicks and scratches on it then what was described but no big deal it's a used vehicle and it was exactly what I was looking for. We had very mild weather for the beginning of November so didn't use the AC or heat much. Within a couple weeks I realized the driver side Heat/AC only works about 1/4 of the time. Contacted the company and they told me there was no warranty so they wouldn't do anything. Paid a premium price for a premium vehicle and expected premium service. I took my husband's truck in for an oil change and it took 2 hours. Normally, I'd be annoyed with it taking this long, but I had planned on a wait and brought a book with me. Several staff members checked on me during the time I was there and offered to bring me anything I needed. Everyone was very friendly, and Mark Sweeney himself came over to see how I was doing. The waiting area has comfortable chairs and tables that invite you to put your feet up (which I did!). Plus, they encourage you to bring your dogs, and the employees have theirs in the showroom/offices as well. Overall, it may have been a long wait, but it really didn't feel like it! read more

I am very dissatisfied with the poor communication, lack of timeline, and lack of reimbursement for the fuel used during repairs. Staff scheduled the completion of recall repairs on a Thursday (12/29/22). I took my YUKON to the location only to be told they "Can't work on it" and that they "shouldn't have scheduled me and the lady that scheduled doesn't know anything about vehicles". This is bizarre to me as the lady clearly works at a car place. Service staff requested I bring it back Monday and they promise it will be done, "It's about a 10-hour job". I called Monday before I left the house just to make sure the information was still accurate when the service staff said "Oh, the transmission tech called off today can you come tomorrow?". Unfortunately, I work 24-hour shift on Tuesday so I still dropped it off on Monday morning, with a half a tank of fuel and an understanding that they would work on it Tuesday. Once at the dealership they then said they could have the vehicle for up to a week. A week was going to be a struggle, but my wife and I could make it work. I called multiple times during the week given the run around and promised that someone would call me back. On the 8th day I finally got ahold of the service manager stating they haven't even started on it. I have three small children that require carseats and my family vehicle had been sitting on the lot for 8 days - I am obviously not happy. They then reminded me to make sure I brought the rental back on a full tank. When our family vehicle was complete, I returned the rental full of fuel (1/9/23) only to discover my personal vehicle, which had been "sitting" for 14 days was almost on E. When questioned the staff said they had driven in "40 miles to make sure the repairs had worked". I am very dissatisfied with the poor communication, lack of timeline, and lack of reimbursement for the fuel used to, what I'm assuming, transport an associate back and forth from work because it surely wasn't only 40 miles they drove to "check". Purchased an '01Buick Park Avenue from this dealership and was very happy with the vehicle and the purchase. I have had the car a few weeks and no problem. I opened the hood today to check the oil and other thing. The battery has slid into the supercharger belt and chewed it up. This is over a 400$ job due to the belt being routed around the motor mount. Upon further inspection, the new battery is not held down properly due to a bad bolt, which should have been addressed. The very next time I drove the vehicle, it hesitated at a stop sign and began knocking. I saved for eight months to buy this car. I don't like to complain, but this should not have happened. At least I didn't agree to trade in my beater Toyota for now I have to drive it. Careful who you purchase from, they sold this knowing it was a time bomb. I feel taken advantage of. Ken, my salesperson, even made a comment about how car salesman are all a bunch of crooks and can't be trusted. I should have walked away. I'm out of over $5000 and I have yet to see any of the records I was promised or my title. Thanks for the lesson. Purchased a one year old used Kia from Mark Sweeney Buick GMC off Highland Avenue at what I thought was a great deal. Noticed after the fact that roof of SUV was damaged and rusted, not noted upon purchase as roof of vehicle above field of vision. Contacted salesman only to be informed we had passed the thirty day window so there was nothing they could do (this was on day 31). They claim damage could have been inflicted by us even though 2 separate auto body shops wrote bids denying that level of rust and corrosion could happen in 1 month. My advice to you, if you purchase here go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb---and don't forget your step stool! BTW, the cost to repair is close to $3000.see photos read more

12/28/17 Dear Sir: I purchased a 2009 GMC Acadia from Mark Sweeney GMC Buick in Cincinnati, on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017. I was on a waiting list for a car to come in that would meet the criteria that the bank was requiring. After several days, one came in and I got a phone call at 8 in the morning on a Saturday to come and get a car that someone was trading in, but I needed to get there fast, he said, before it's gone. So I got up and rushed out the door and by the time I got there the guy was just then getting into his own new car. I literally drove off the lot with this car thinking that when I came back the next Monday, as my sales agent was telling me to, that it would be serviced and it would be up to par, meaning; inspected to rule out that there were no major problems wrong with it, make sure the car had a tune up, etc.... figured surely that they would do those things before selling a car, and which all seemed pretty standard to me...(please note that all the other cars on the lot had car star reports and service inspections. I know this because I was told this and it was advertised that this is what is done for all used cars). When that Monday came around, they picked the vehicle up from my work, brought the car back to me when they finished with it, put my receipt and key under the mat. When I got off that evening I noticed that the only thing stated on the receipt was that they had done an oil change and replaced a wiper blade. It was one day later and I made a call into Derrick Hayes, the sales agent, to tell them that the car feels like there's something really wrong with it. It feels like the transmission is skipping or something, it's like a stutter of sorts... He said that I was probably just getting used to the car, and he asked me if my check engine light was on at that time. I said no, and he followed by saying, well if it comes on or you have more problems, give us call us and we will take good care of you, ...ok,?!? Well, not even 2/3 weeks later the issue started to get worse and I had already by this time made 2 calls into Derrick's voice mail to which he never returned my calls. With the engine light now on, I ended up breaking down on the highway. Come to find out I had a blown head gasket, that it needed a complete tune-up, including, but not limited to, needing wires and plugs replaced, the engine coils replaced, and that was just to name a few. At this point I had no choice but to get it serviced. I was stuck on a Friday night with a broken vehicle I had just purchased, and still hadn't been successful with reaching anyone at the dealership. But again I continued to call Derrick. I even called the used car sales manager at this point to immediately let them know of these major issues that the mechanic just explained to me. The mechanic started to work on those few issues. Not knowing yet what lay ahead, this alone was completely unacceptable as a new customer having to pay for this kind of repairs when, literately this was just purchased. Obviously this was already a problem prior to the previous owner's trade in and probably the reason for the trade in ...so I was pretty much sent on my way with what was fixed at that point, leaving an open invoice and major problems that still needed replaced/repaired etc. I still can't go over 30 maybe 40mph and that's if I'm lucky, but that only lasted about 2 days till the car completely wouldn't accelerate at all and now just sits dead. Adding to that was the fact that I was completely ignored and looked over as far as the dealership responding to me as a customer with a serious complaint that needed resolved asap. We're talking over $1,500 on labor and repairs so far. Now I'm making a car payment, paying for other forms of transportation to get me around, a towing bill, and a repair bill that needs to be paid. I cannot continue to pay all these repairs! My sales rep knew the situation I was in with children and that my job as a nanny required and depended on a safe car. The mechanic confirmed "rigged up" parts and shoddy work had already been done to the car. Basically a way to cover up major problems and buy some time by doing so. I have attached an information sheet that explains what happens when someone continues to drive a vehicle after a head gasket has been blown. I don't speak mechanic so I couldn't repeat everything, but I have everything exact. Moving forward, no matter what I signed, what I was told, and what was not done, what I, the consumer, have been left with, should be a major crime and it's completely unfair... I don't have money to dish out. I just paid a nice cash down payment to buy this car and it sits dead! Remind you, I called the next day after they dropped it off to me and continued to drive it till "that light" came on and with no response... I inherited my great grandpas buick. I took it here for multiple repairs. The repair men are friendly yet it took me 6 hours to have a tire put onto a rim and they ordered me the wrong size tire. I had a leak in another tire which was 3 hour repair and it did not even last. They overprice repairs and do not do the best job plus it takes way to long for simple repairs to be completed. I purchased a 2005 Chrysler 300 from Mark Sweeny Buick GMC on 11/09/18. The sales team was great in helping me with the car and worked well with me. I did not drive the car until 11/27/18. After driving it for 2 days I noticed some issues with the transmission. I went to back the car into a parking spot and it would not get into reverse. After messing with it I finally got it into reverse. This happened 3 more times over the next week. Also, I was driving down the interstate and it would not go over 60 mph on 3 occasions. Finally, on 12/14/18 I was on a hillside when the transmission completely fell apart on me and would not go into gear and I had to have it towed to a transmission specialist. When I called Mark Sweeny Buick GMC the morning of 12/17/18, I spoke with Jesse, Mark's son-in-law. I told him about the issues I had and that I was quoted $2,783.80 to rebuild my transmission and asked if there is anything that Mark Sweeny would help me with. He said he would talk to Mark and Scott to see and get back to me. I followed up in the afternoon on 12/18/18 when I had not heard back. I spoke to Mark and asked him if he had talked to his son-in-law about my concerns and he said no he had not spoken to Jesse. I explained to Mark what was going on and the offer he made me was to sell me the parts at cost and charge me a used car labor rate to fix the faulty car he just sold me. I declined the offer because, in my opinion, that was insufficient since the car I bought I had only driven for close to 3 weeks. Mark knew that my parents have spent over $150,000 with them and even denied me when I asked if he would split the bill with me for my transmission, yet insisted that if I brought it in, they could fix it for the price of the parts and at a used car labor rate. Mark Sweeny Buick GMC was still going to charge me to fix the faulty product they had just sold me. I wanted to share this experience to all prospective buyers from Mark Sweeny Buick GMC, buyer beware. Walt Sweeney Body Shop is making my 2018 truck look new again after I had a small accident. I was at the Veterinarians after the accident and the window stuck open. It started raining. After I was approved, I was informed that the price was over $2000 more than I was quoted. It was still a good deal , but that is shady. I was also promised a minor repair to a tear in the seat BEFORE the deal was closed. After I finalized the purchase, I was informed that it would cost more than they thought and that they would only pay a small portion of the cost to fix it and I would have to pay the rest. Needless to say, I refused and am now stuck with the full bill. They'll say anything to get your signature, whether they know they can deliver on their promises or not. I was shopping online for a vehicle when I found one I liked at Mark Sweeney Buick. I the time I first saw the vehicle online and I made it to the dealership, it is 120 miles from me, they increased the price $400.00. I was told this was done because the vehicle had undergone a 172 point inspection and reconditioning and was now a Certified Pre owned vehicle. I purchased the vehicle and immediately had to take it to the nearest GM dealership to have corrected four issues with the vehicle. These issues were checked on the 172 point inspection sheet as inspected and no problems. They were an exhaust leak in which a crossover pipe had to be replaced, brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced, front end out of alignment and tires needing rotated. The first two were covered under the warranty but I spent hours at the dealership getting these issues corrected that should have been fixed before I purchased the vehicle. I made several attempts to contact the sales manager at Sweeneys but he never returned my calls. the 172 point inspection and Certified Pre owned vehicle status is, in my opinion, a joke. My wife and I were looking for a very specific Yukon Denali and contacted several area dealerships for help. Jeff "Louie" fielded our internet inquiry with a very direct and honest response with a competitive price almost immediately. Other dealerships had to inquire about our 'unique situation'. Louie and I were finished with all paperwork, car ordered before several of the other dealerships even called back. Louie called at least 4 times with updates regarding the status of the manufacturing and delivery of the vehicle. In the end the vehicle came in ahead of schedule from the factory. Louie recommended we book the car in Q1 to take advantage of several rebates that proved to save us an additional $500 versus waiting until April. The day my wife and I planned to pickup the vehicle I contacted Louie to inform we preferred to now finance versus pay by check. Wendy from the finance department processed our entire application and had all paperwork perfectly organized within 2 hours. I stressed to Louis and Wendy that my wife and 3 kids would be waiting and asked if they could speed the paperwork and check out process. They did exactly that respecting my wishes and gave a quick but thorough walkthrough of the vehicle. The owner of the dealership shook my hand and genuinely thanked me for their business the day I signed and again when I picked up the vehicle. I called the service group to see if they had the parts in stock to service my 3500 duramax truck, they said they needed the last 8 of the VIN. I said I didn't have on hand and asked if they could just look it up my make/model year and they just hung up the phone without saying another word. After being told to come in on a Monday, because staff on Saturday were unable to fix a DVD player that would not eject, I showed up for my appointment. After waiting 2.5 HOURS, a man came out of the service area and told me he's never heard of this problem before. He wanted to replace entire sound system for $2200. I said you've got to be kidding me, and left. He later called me and stated he found a replacement part for over $1200. Entirely wasted my day. read more

Purchased a 2010 used car from this dealership for around $22k. Problem started on day one. - The tire sensor light came on as I was driving the car home from the lot. - I learned the heated seats didn't work. (The panel to access the heated seats was off when I looked at the car, that should have been a red flag for me). - The sticker on the car window implied it had a 3,000, 3 month warranty on the car. After repeated attempts to resolve the issues with the dealership and my sales man, the response I got was there wasn't a problem when they sold me the car. In addition to the issues, the questions about the warranty were ignored. I guess when your not mean enough you are just blown off. I eventually took the car somewhere else to get the sensor light fixed and found out that "someone" duct taped broken tire sensors to the two right side tires and I'm now I'm out $392. I understand when you buy a used car, you are buying just that. However, the lack of concern or attempt to resolve the problems I discovered within 3 days of purchasing the car is the reason I give them a poor rating. The was no customer service after the sale. I have purchased many vehicles from Performance in Fairfield and had excellent service. I ventured out this one time because I was looking for this particular car and regret it. The quality of service after the sale is incomparable. I still haven't had the heated seats fixed, afraid to find out what that is going to cost me. read more

My left rear mirror was broken the week before Christmas. I drove to Mark Sweeney to get an estimate. Dave, in the service department, met me as I stepped out of the truck, knew my name and asked what happened. He then ordered the parts and told me he would call. He called me on his day off, the week of Christmas, to advise the parts had arrived. The week of New Year's the team completed the repair and my truck showed up cleanly washed. We are a GM family and have worked with dealerships in Ohio, Florida, and Minnesota and have to rank Mark Sweeney Buick GMC amongst the top 1% of dealerships we have worked with. I hate buying a new car unless we are treated well and they delivered. They were easy to work with, very responsive via email and even let us keep the car for a day before buying it. They showed us the numbers and didn't try to switch them when we were closing the deal. These guys have integrity. Would buy from them again. read more
