He was highly recommended to me by my acupuncturist who has seen him several times for therapies to heal long standing back and neck injuries. Dr. Wardell has an extremely impressive and well rounded background and education which enables him to understand underlying issues and causes in a way that most doctors do not. I have recommended him to so many people who have chronic illnesses and pain/injuries who are unable to get relief by traditional methods (cortisone injections, PT, surgery). Not only does he have a deep understanding of any medical issues I've asked him about, his approach is always focused on getting to the true cause and healing them vs a band-aid approach used by so many doctors. His treatments / approach are all quite reasonably priced and has helped people avoid major surgeries that would be much more costly and not actually fixing the underlying problem or condition. I feel that Dr. Wardwell has a strong sense of integrity and ethics and treats his patients with genuine respect, never pushing profit over the best interest is his patients. I have been trying to recover from a severe case of Bells Palsy 7 years ago which I was told by some of the top doctors in the field that I would never be able to heal from it, and the only options were Botox and invasive surgery in my face. I'm so thankful that I have found PRP (plasma rich protein injections, same used in "vampire facials") therapy with Dr. Wardwell which has already healed and improved my symptoms in 3-4 months post PRP therapy. My other doctor who has been treating me, who is the head of plastic surgery at Stanford, was amazed as the most recent progress and never heard of PRP being used to to treat Bells Palsy, which is quite sad. I'm getting the word out. If you are looking for a doctor who will truly get to the bottom of your condition and treat you with the utmost care and respect, I highly recommend Dr. Wardwell. Randy on his team is also very welcoming and accommodating whenever possible. Do not hesitate to schedule a consult if you're thinking about it! You won't regret it.

Within 5min of being at Dr. Wardwell's practice, he had imaged my achilles via ultrasound, diagnosed it as partially torn and had a proposed treatment plan - PRP and stem cell injections for my back, achilles and foot. He doesn't just treat the injury, but treats the full body, focusing on the the root cause to prevent re-injury. 4mo later - I'm back to running and am not limited in any activity. More importantly, I'm not hobbling out of bed every morning (which previously, I was resigned to doing for the rest of my life). I'm so appreciative for Dr Wardwell and the huge quality of life he has given to me. Also shoutout to Randy, who runs the office and is such a pleasure.

I used to run races, bike, hike, roller blade etc.. I loved being active. After I had my first child, I could walk but with a great deal of pain and spasms galore. After many, many physical therapists, many many physical medicine doctors, a few chiropractors, I am finally seeing signs of success with Dr. Daniel Shadoan. It really took me 6 visits to see enough change to be optimistic. I kept going to him because this was really my last hope. I had tried everything else. Dr. Shadoan is an incredibly kind and compassionate healer. Every time I see him, I believe he truly wants to help me. I have seen soooo many m.d.s who just prescribed medication, pain relievers, etc. who never touched or looked at my body. It was rare to see an m.d. that I believe wanted me to heal. I had one m.d. tell me I was just going to have to accept that I would be this way (and progressively worse) for the rest of my life! I was not very familiar with d.o.s and had more confidence in m.d.s before seeing Dr. Shadoan. Now, I can't believe I didn't go to a d.o. years and years ago! After two failed hearing tests, the Kaiser ENT doc suggested we get him ear tubes. I sought out Michael Horn because he practices Biodynamic and Biomechanical Osteopathy, and he's a member of the Cranial Academy. When I called, he was accessible and very nice over the phone. My back felt a little better, but after months of annoying pain, my back still hurt. Bummer. I was referred to Hennie (Doctor of Osteopathy) by my acupuncturist at the time (who swore by her) and was able to get an appointment a couple of weeks later. A few days after making the appointment I received an envelope in the mail with some information about what Osteopathy is and what it can do for you. OK, this was very helpful, because who the hell knows about this stuff? No one I know. So, off I went to Hennie. The first appointment took about 1.5 hours and she said it would probably take 3 - 4 sessions to fix my back. It's hard to explain what she did to my back, but it was kind of like a light massage with lots of stretching and a little pressing. She is gentle and has very warm loving hands. After 3 sessions, not 4, my back was completely healed. I had wasted hundreds of dollars on the chiropractor. The appointments with Hennie were not cheap (and not covered by my insurance), but it was totally worth it not having chronic back pain any longer. I recently went to see her and again, it was a great experience. I highly recommend Hennie and the Osteopathy for anyone who has back pain. F*** chiropractors, I will NEVER go see one again, it's a bunch of BS. Go see Hennie and get your back fixed quickly. Why should anyone be seeing a chriropractor for many visits when you can get your back fixed in a couple of visits? It would have been much cheaper paying Hennie for a few sessions than the 10 or so at the chiropractor. Oh, she's a very cool person who loves to talk politics too. Great! They are licensed in all 50 states and considered "full physicians." The down side is that because of the system, many DOs dont get to practice their manipulations once their residencies begin. The numbers are like 13% of D.O.'s perform advanced practice manual manipulations as part of their full medical practice. And Hennie is one of these 13%, and I believe one of only several in the Bay Area who effectively and significantly incorporates this kind of medicine into their practice. Hennie has a great bedside manner, incredibly healing skills through mostly non-invasive sometimes intense (but not necessarily painful) manual manipulations. Needless to say, if you are dealing with muscular skeletal issues Hennie is a great place to start. She is often very effective, but isnt some goddess healer, she knows when to make a referral or send you to PT or specialist. The efficacy and incredibly healing power of Osteopathy, in a way needs to be experienced to be understood. I am currently undergoing some PT for some chronic shoulders issues i've been dealing with and both the PTs were quickly jotting down Hennie's info once they'd heard of an osteopath actually practicing manual therapy. Osteos are hard to come by, and I thought the PTs reaction was telling. There is also a guy who is now practicing in her office, a D.O. she said he also does the manual therapy. I havent seen him, but apparently he has more open availability as he is new to the area. Good Luck!
