This place feels incredibly shady and misleading. I came in for knee pain a month after an injury…read more I have a high-deductible insurance plan, so I specifically asked the front desk what the visit might cost and they told me it shouldn't exceed $200 with my plan. The visit was straightforward, some basic knee X-rays and a consultation with the PA. He did a quick physical exam and said he couldn't diagnose anything without an MRI, which I declined due to the cost. The appointment was at 9am and I sent a text to my partner at 9:15am after the appointment ended saying "going to the doctor is dumb." Eight months later, I received a $360 bill. Reviewing the itemized charges, I saw they billed for a 45-minute, moderate-complexity office visit, which doesn't reflect what actually happened. I called their billing office to dispute the charge. They said they'd put the bill on hold and follow up with the medical team. Two days later, without notice, they charged my credit card anyway (which they keep on file). Since then, they have ghosted me trying to follow up. Be extremely cautious if you're planning on visiting this medical office. They were not transparent about pricing, they overbilled for services, and they charged my card after telling me they wouldn't. 0/5 stars if it were possible.

It was described to me as looking at an image on a 1950s black and white tv to a current HDTV today. My insurance most likely won't cover a second xray or MRI. I feel mislead and taken advantage of. Additionally while seeking a second opinion I requested my visit summary notes and was shocked to read what was written versus what was performed. Yes this practice was convenient and could see me faster but I did not realize at what cost. I am writing this review so that future patients are more informed than I was. I would hate for this to happen to someone else.

He came highly rated on Yelp, which I am not surprised by. When I called, his assistant, David, was incredibly helpful and managed to fit me in the very next day. Dr. Shin was thorough, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to carefully evaluate my symptoms and review my X-rays before clearly and thoughtfully explaining his recommendations. I never felt rushed and truly appreciated his attentive approach. Thanks to his care, my shoulder is now back to normal. Dr. Shin is an excellent physician, and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of orthopedic care.

I had a partial tear in my hamstring tendon, and he performed a PRP on it. But after a month of still having pain, he said it was clear that the PRP hadn't worked. That in itself wasn't the problem; it's what happened after. I wrote him a (very nice) letter explaining why I didn't feel he had paid enough attention to certain things (an MRI of my spine, for example), but I never heard a word from him. (Though he he did call me after this review was posted...two months later.) Also, it felt like it was pulling teeth to get the office to refer me to a spine doctor. It was like I was just cut loose. So...I'd say the treatment might have been appropriate, but the follow-up was sorely lacking.

I got an MRI at Dr Halbrecht's office and then went for a first consultation with the doctor. Dr Halbrecht seems like a perfectly competent doctor and I'm sure his medical advice is sound. It's his communication style and "bed side manner" that I didn't connect with. I asked about something the MRI technician told me and he responded "oh mri technicians don't know anything about this". While examining my knee he put a lot of pressure on it which hurt, without giving me a heads up saying "this might hurt a bit". He was incredibly brief and didn't share with me any advantages and disadvantages of recommended treatment options. Any one of these may not be a big deal, but all of these together was a signal to me that i'd prefer a different provider. If Dr Halbrecht were my only medical option, I would use him, since again his medical advice seemed sound. However since he estimated it'll be ~6 months for treatment, I chose to switch to see a different doctor for my treatment.

Even though I had a great surgeon, I had significant healing complications after a full Achilles repair and was worried I might never dance or run again. I also definitely did not want to go through another surgery. Through a series of hydrodissections, Dr. Paul has helped me avoid surgery--and now I'm back to both dancing and running. What stood out most is how he showed up for me. I felt he was all in--completely dedicated to my outcome and to me as a whole person. I had a lot of fear around the situation, and after several pretty grim consultations with other doctors, he told me, "We are going to get you there--don't let anyone tell you otherwise." While he performed the first hydrodissection, he talked me through everything and kept reminding me, "I'm right here in it with you." He didn't just treat the injury--he treated me as a whole person. I especially appreciated how much he took the nervous system into account. I had done my own deep dive into meditation and nervous system work, and he was always curious and open to learning from me. He told me he's made a commitment to always learn from his patients, which really shows. He's incredibly well-connected to top medical professionals at the forefront of their fields and up to date on the latest research--in fact, he actively participates in and runs his own studies. What truly sets him apart is the combination of off-the-charts technical skill and a genuinely open-minded, compassionate approach. He's thoughtful and expansive in how he looks at treatment--drawing from a range of medical perspectives rather than sticking to a single lane. He brings a broader view that doesn't just treat the injury--it goes beyond it entirely. Also, his team is amazing--Brian, a bodyworker who incorporates a neuro-rewiring and somatic approach, and his office team, Maria, Shaiann, and Hatice. And Dr. Kentaro Onishi, another brilliant compassionate minded physician, just joined the practice. I've honestly never felt that level of warmth, support, and responsiveness from a medical office.

I do my research, and she also came recommended by a friend; so I was really looking forward to getting some valuable insights and hopefully solutions. Unfortunately, I left her office crying out of hopelessness. Since then, I have met with three other doctors who unlike her, gave me hope, provided actual solutions and recommendations to ease or eliminate my pain. Dr. Kim not only made me feel like a serious inconvenience to her day during our appointment; but she was also short, had terrible bed-side manner, got irritated and condescending when I asked questions, and provided really stupid solutions. As an example, she told me I should stop working out if I feel pain afterwards, eat my meals standing up since "sitting is America's downfall", or just fuse my spine if I was worried about further degeneration in my disc. I was devastated, vulnerable and didn't think to question how dire she made my situation sound since she came so well reviewed. THANK GOD I got other opinions. She might be the worst doctor I've ever seen. Could very well have been an 'off day' for her.. but it made a really huge impact on my morale, emotional and physical wellbeing for months thereafter.
