He is a caring and skilled professional who prefers conservative measures. Patient comfort is very important to him. He waited to invest in a digital x-ray machine until he was convinced that the technology had improved enough that the patient would be comfortable. I have had a couple of crowns and a filling or two done by Dr. Roan and he is very good with the novacaine; I have never had the slightest twinge of pain during any procedures (and I'm a dental fraidy-cat). He and his staff are very good with teaching effective self-care techniques. The hygienists and administrative staff who work there are also very skilled and professional. They keep right on schedule, too; every time I have been there they have taken me right on time.

She gave way too much anesthesia than necessary for a root planing, lost track of what she was doing and started working on the wrong side halfway through, and was generally both rough and rushed in her work. Dr Gagnon walked into the office this morning beside me WITHOUT A MASK ON and walked right past his employee doing temp checks. Disgusting. You ask all your patients and staff to take these precautions to keep you safe but you won't do the same for us? After my cleaning he came into my exam room, went straight to the computer, didn't even look at me and said that I could pick between white or silver filling. Didn't even explicitly state that I had a filling. I then asked some clarifying questions and had to ask him to show me which tooth he was talking about. The worst quality of care I've ever experienced. It was also so obvious that he was behind on schedule from being late to work and tried to rush out before he could even finish answering my questions. Honestly a safety hazard to see a doctor that won't get his temp checked and will walk into the front office in sweat pants, a tourist t shirt and flip flops sans mask. Never coming back.

Recently I had to replace an old oral appliance and Dr. Demarest made recommendations based on my sleep apnea. I've tried C-Pap machines but with claustrophobia couldn't tolerate that device, so with an upgraded mouth guard designed for sleep apnea I've had great success with the oral appliance as treatment. I'm one of those "chickens" when it comes to any kind of dental work and they've always been compassionate and patient with my phobias. A special thank you to the Practice Manager Beauna who helped me to navigate my medical insurance coverage for my oral appliance.
