I'm a single mother of two and I prefer any money I save to go to my kids and that should 100% be my decision to make! No other dentist I've been to has been this way. They say it's because they don't want to let the gums get worse but the dentist is trying to force such an expensive procedure on people to make money by trying to force this on people!
