Lynda Breakey, I am the Regional Director of Branch Operations for Maritime Travel: I have carefully reviewed the concerns raised in your correspondence and would like to respond accordingly. Lynda Breakey wrote in part: Please be advised that I have been involved in this booking since you first brought these matters to our attention. Nov 19, 2025, Kristine wrote I've told them that we are dealing with it here in branch. There is nothing more they can do and are aware of your concerns." December 30, 2025, Kristine wrote in part: Head office has been emailed, and they will respond shortly today. Who do I believe? Who is telling the truth? I asked for copies, for proof but hey refuse to provide them. Lynda Breakley and Kristine Huhtala both wrote several paragraphs about what they believed was said or written which most of I absolutely denied, they also stated these correspondence remains on file but refuse to provide them to me and prove their accusations. I provided supporting documents of the facts, and they refused to provide me with any supporting documents in support of these accusations. Nov 17, 2025, Kristine wrote: "Your form from 2024 is clearly no good and a new form had to be filled out which I assumed you would have had a new form filled out by the doctor and had it sent into Transat. " How can Kristine assume this? She did not check with Air Transat! She did not provide supporting documentation to confirm her statement. She did not submit the MEDIF that I had provided her. I have since provided Maritime travel proof that my MEDIF form for air travel with a POC was valid for three years. It Is attached to this email. Air Transat wanted to charge to supply me oxygen, and I was not impressed but Kristine stated: "This is how you filled out the form, so I guess Transat assumes you need oxygen?" However, this was an error with the travel agent although she was a veteran it appeared she did not know the difference between (O2 tanks/cylinders, liquid, canned or recreational oxygen or a personal air concentrator as she talked about oxygen tanks and oxygen machines. It appears that Maritime is lacking in the training department. They offered to rebook me in economy, but I paid for club class, and they totally dismiss my disability and blame me for being difficult? Kristine wrote Nov 14, 2025. "I remember you told me when you spoke to the girl at Transat that morning and she told you your old forms were still ok to use...did you get her name by any chance?? I'd like to build a case with them about you being given wrong information." Nov 19, 2025, Kristine wrote I will know within a few weeks once I hear from Transat if there is any compensation for the lost week and I will let you know at that time I requested a copy of both the letter she sent Air Transat and the reply from air Transat. For unknown reasons they refuse to provide them to me. There is no question that Maritime Travel did not provide the services I was charged and paid for. I lost 8 days holiday in the accommodations I paid for, had to make a trip to Toronto to be denied boarding and had to call my ride back to pick me up, also paid for a new MEDIF and mine was still good. I believe both Linda and Kristine wrote: We value our clients and always strive to provide clear guidance and exceptional service. I got the worst treatment imaginable and would never trust Maritime travel and especially stay away from Kristine Huhtala in the Sudbury office. Linda wrote: ": I have carefully reviewed the concerns raised in your correspondence and would like to respond accordingly." Why did She not provide me with the proof and copies I requested. I provided proof and documentation of most discrepancies and disregard and dismissed facts to condone Kristines actions. Linda has not provided any evidence, and her decision is not fact based she also refused to explain how my arguments were considered in her decision. It is my opinion that Maritime travel did not meet their own principal and did not strive to provide clear guidance and exceptional service. read more

Spain and Portugal 2025. This was a nightmare trip subcontracted from Maritime Travel to Indus Travel. It was the worst trip ever and absolutely no responsibility taken by Maritime or Indus. The tour left us all mentally exhausted by all of the problems. We arrived in Lisbon to a National holiday to be told everything cancelled because of an event held every year on the same day and no help with what we might do as the "4 to 5 star " hotel was near the airport. We had no guide, drive for 4 to 6 hours a day with no conversations re history, countryside etc. The accommodations and food were substandard, in some cases disgusting, most definitely not 4 or 5 star, more like hostels with cafeteria style, in one instance a paper bag with a bun and apple. This was absolutely the worst tour ever. A disaster!! read more

Replace Myranda Miller. I will never visit this location again. We've booked two trips in the past with MT and had no issues. We booked our third trip with Myranda and after a vacation from Hell we had to keep reaching out to her for months asking her to take this seriously. She just kept pushing emails and never once reached out to us to follow up. While booking our next vacation through Expedia, our agent, who was extremely helpful, suggested Myranda contact the local Transat rep. After a couple attempts to get Myranda to do this I finally called her and was very adamant that I want this dealt with! Apparently she finally took us seriously, the next day we received an email from Transat stating this was rare and they are surprised we had so many issues at the resort. If whoever reviewed our complaint had looked at the reviews I read, they wouldn't be surprised. Negative reviews far outweigh any positive ones for that resort with so many complaints the same as ours. We were given a medial credit for future travel. It was an insult after the detailed narrative we submitted of how we were treated, along with many pictures and videos of the disgusting filth, mold and run down conditions we endured during our stay. I will never use this location again. Further more, we will use the Transat credit to book something through Virginia Baird with Expedia. She was awesome to deal with and made us feel like a close friend during the booking process of our recent cruise. She went above and beyond reaching out to us several times during the months we planned our vacation as opposed to Myranda who we had to chase for many months. We highly recommend her Virginia Baird with Expedia! For those who chose to use MT I highly recommend you AVOID Myranda Miller, Maritime Travel, Halifax Shopping Centre. I just checked reviews and am definitely not the only person who feels this way. So disappointing MT wouldn't go to bat for us with Transat. I don't like writing reviews like this but this was definitely an experience we will NEVER FORGET!!!!!!!! read more

We did our first cruise in the Mediterranean and as first time on a cruise we wanted a travel agent to assist with this. Myranda Miller was the agent that, did not, assist us. We found out after our own investigation that Princess Cruises via their app allow customers to book restaurants when the cruise is paid in full. This was February and the cruise was in May. If it would not have been for an excellent person at Princess that helped get our reservations, we would have paid for a premium package and no premium restaurants. Do not use Maritime Travel, book direct with the cruise lines, way better service. read more

Halifax, Nova Scotia Worse decision ever...going with Myranda Miller at Maritime Travel. We had booked a river cruise through Viking but since we were a group of 12 we got a discount by going through a travel agent. After booking the trip we unfortunately switched to Maritime Travel. The first issue was when we had to pay the balance of the deposit. My mother was travelling with us and her balance was not right (it was actually much cheaper than expected). Myranda said just pay it and don't worry about it. My mother had purchased travel insurance with the trip and when I did look into it further that money was taken off the balance rather than applied to the insurance. Once the mistake was noted the matter was resolved. Next was the issue with the flights. We paid extra to pick our flights. Myranda was not on top of this and so we ended up contacting Viking ourselves and making our own arrangements. Viking then sent her the itinerary. She sent it out to us and was essentially saying she finally got the flights. She was taking credit when we actually did the work! With covid, my mother and her travel companion decided to cancel their trip. They cancelled in January 2022 and under the terms of the agreement they automatically got 80% of their money back. (The other 20% needed to go through insurance.) My mother's companion paid her balance to Viking directly and immediately got her refund. My mother paid Maritime Travel and, as a result, the refund needed to go to Maritime Travel and then to my mother. Months went by without any word about the refund. I started emailing Myranda who would just keep putting me off. After over 100 emails (and a lot of frustration) it was determined that the cheque that had been sent was not cashed (wrong address). Eventually a new cheque was issued and sent. (Myranda was suppose to confirm Maritime Travel's address.) Rather than the cheque going to Maritime travel it was sent to my mother's address and issued to Maritime travel. My mother had to take the cheque to their office and then it took around another 3 weeks for the cheque to be issued to my mother. My mother eventually got her refund on May 15 (nearly 5 1/2 months after she cancelled the trip). I found dealing with Myranda extremely frustrating and irritating and I will never deal with Maritime Travel again. read more

i made a phone call to the maritime travel to make some changes on behalf of my wife. the agent had very poor customer service skills.the sarcasm and condescending tone was unexceptable.kaylee was very rude and sarcastic when being ask a question.the manager answered the phone when i called back to give an update to kaylee and with great surprise she was just as rude.i cannot understand someone being so rude working in such line of work.i wish there was a no star button. read more

Won't refund a trip payment my daughter made for a trip they cancelled despite her not being able to use the credit being offered. Won't stand behind the products they are selling. She's out over $1000. read more

Carina has a lot of experience in the travel biz and is a highly rated travel agent in the Maritimes. Plus she has a really great sense of humour; she will have you laughing in the aisles. Thanks to her recommendations, we have taken some very nice European holidays at very reasonable prices. I like going to see her with my travel plans. read more

3 times now I have gone to different Maritime Travel centers over the past year, and have found very poor service from all.....the one in cole harbour, the one in Mic Mac Mall and the one on st Joseph drive. They don't return emails nor phone calls, and when I put in a request to book at group trip they don't even do anything at the time I was there, but promised to email or call me.....to date I have received nothing from my latest request in March 2014. I hope head office reads this and does an investigation re very poor service!!!!! read more

I too have had difficult times with Maritime travel. Phone calls and e-mails not answered, and one time I did get a e-mail response and I replied and have heard nothing in months. I have been looking for a travel agency with little luck. Disappointed in Maritime. read more

We used martime travel in Ottawa and went to Panama at the Riu, via sunwing wasted $2350 each had a bad experience that hotel should not even be rated a 2 star the people there are horrible did not enjoy it, we are now in Mexico Tulum got are own flight and own hotel love it here you should visit lovely people very beautiful. Martime travel made no effort to resolve the issue other than tell us to talk to the manager of the hotel we did that and he told us he could not do anything that people were just like that, they also initially told us that they do not address local issue. Both Martime travel and Sunwing were useless their is not reason to use them. By the way if you like to flight in a can of sardine take Sunwing, could not even open my laptop. With a group of us, from all over Canada, it was difficult to plan an all inclusive vacation that got us there on the same day, for reasonable prices. She did it!!! She's pleasant and thorough. Dealt with them a few times, but never great. The last time was so horrible I left and went to another company - didn't care that I lost my deposit. Will never go back. The customer service was poor from all agents, but it was when I dealt with "Head Office" that made me really leave. If they treat customers the way they treated me, no wonder their agents aren't that great either! read more
