The salon has a total urban glam vibe, with the friendliest staff imaginable. When I got to the chair, we chatted quickly about what I was looking for then he started out with a shampoo. Trent was so contentious about "going light" on the suds that would further dry out my frizzy winter locks, but he also gave me a generous relaxing head massage... ahhhh, perfect way to end of the week. He made quick with his work and styled my hair in a loose curl, with just the right amount of volume and curl to make it interesting and bouncy without looking like I just spent all afternoon in the salon. Really pretty. We chatted the whole time, everything from travel to exchanging recipes. Again, so friendly! I learned the owner is highly passionate about heath, wellness, and sustainability with a strong commitment to small business and community development: love it! I mean she was great at cutting ,perming, sewing, you name it she was great at it! The problem with Sabrina is that she is unreliable, a bit confrontational, and she is the slowest working stylist that my friends and I have ever come across. Sabrina takes years to do your hair, she is never on time for appointments and if you are lucky enough that she is already at the salon for your appointment, be prepared for your whole day to be taken up with her talking on the phone, texting ,eating, taking her sweet time to finish your hair. I mean she really works slow, and this is from years of experience, and I know about 10 people that once went to Sabrina but all of them stopped because she lacked professionalism. In addition to that she chooses to go up and down on prices whenever she pleases. One week you could pay $85 and the next week you will pay $100 , for the exact hair style, and she just decides it whenever she pleases. Sabrina is a great stylist and I would never take that away from her but she is not worth the money and time being that there are a million other great stylist in that salon and in new york that don't take forever to do your hair and won't go up and down on prices just because they feel like it. You can not rely on Sabrina if you have made an appointment with her or if you are a walk in, and when confronting her on any issue she gets defensive and instead of accomadating she does not care. Pros: Great Stylist Cons: Unreliable, Confrontational, Random price changes, Slowest stylist you will ever come across Tip: If you do decide to go to this place, go to one of the other ladies to do your hair, and if you do decide to go to Sabrina make sure you have cab fair because by the time you get out of the salon, public transportation will have already stopped running properly...in other words don't go to sabrina.

If I could give no stars I would. Do not trust this salon! I explained to the beautician that I wanted a wash and set (which includes rollers and sitting under the drier). The beautician (didn't get her name but she's short with shoulder length blond brownish hair -you can't miss her) speeds through the wash with adding a bucket of water to each of my ears than actually washing my hair. Someone needs to train her how to wash hair and not ears. Anyway, after the ear wash I sit in her chair and she tells me that she has to wet blow my hair because it's getting late. I said no I don't want a wet blow because too much heat and blowing thins out your hair. I asked for rollers and to sit under the dryer. She then catches an attitude and says "ok I'm going to put big rollers because we're about to close". I then said to her if you knew when I walked in at 6pm that you would not be able to provide the service I requested you should have said so and I would have taken my business else where. Don't agree to it just to get the money then switch it up last minute just because you're about to close. It doesn't work that way! I waked in at 6pm, you said your last customer is at 6:30pm. That gives you ample time to properly wash my hair and put in appropriate size rollers and sit me under the dryer! The worst service ever! I'm a full price paying customer. I should get exactly what I'm paying for. There are too many Dominican salons in Brooklyn to put up with BS like this!!!!!! Learn how to do business!
