After a horrible haircut experience recently, I tried this new place. Jen listened to what colors I wanted and adapted after I showed her a picture of how light I want my hair to get in a few months. Use to love getting my color done here. Last year it was perfect! I came back a few month ago ( 3rd or 4th time being here) and I am not happy at all! I showed a picture of a cooler blonde balayage ombre, the same picture I show every time I come. What I got was not close. It was extremely brassy and orangey! After spending close to $300 (tips include) my husband said if your not happy tell them. So I msgd the girl who did my color and her response was "that's what you showed me". "The picture you showed me was more golden so that's what I gave you" um not it was not and as being a hairdresser myself, I would never reply that way. I would so ok your not happy come back and let me fix it and make it better. My hair color is disgusting and I will never come back. I hate to do this but I'm still mad. Buh bye read more

Carmela is really awesome. But usually she's fully booked and I end up with Jeanette and once with an older woman who's name is escaping me. I have been to Jeanette numerous times and I have to say I don't really like her demeanor. I asked her to do my hair in a nice curly due for my birthday party and it came out horrible...and when she was curling it she said "does your hair get any curlier?...cause it's taking a really long time" I didn't realize I was paying someone to be rude to me. Since she's worked with me before, I'd think she would learn what my hair was like but it seems like a giant mystery to her every time I walk in with my same name and end up in her chair. The one time I was booked with an older woman, all I actually asked for was for her to cut my bangs and straighten them. She burned my scalp and was too busy having a conversation with someone else in the salon to notice she had even burned me. Overall with the exception of one or two really brilliant people, I have had horrible experiences here and a lot of rudeness and attitude. So, finally I've just decided on taking my business elsewhere. read more

I can't rave enough about the level of service you get from Salone Di Capelli. I grew up in Floral Park and have been coming here for many years and have since moved but still travel to get my hair cut/colored here. Dina is my stylist and is a true professional but I would honestly trust anyone to cut my hair. My daughter goes to Catherine and my mother has used Nancy ~ all are great! They keep up with the current trends and always listen to what you want to ensure you are happy. We all leave the salon feeling transformed! This is a true neighborhood gem! I'm highly disappointed with the level of professionalism from the lady answering the phone today. She kept me on hold for over 15 minutes to only get back on the line (no apology) and angrily say she cannot make my appointment because her credit card machine was down?! I asked her if she can take my number to call me back..and I mentioned how can her credit card machine interfere with her helping me make an appointment anyway..she rudely replied "well it does! So call back some other time." I traveled far to come to this salon and I love Sam's work but after today I'm highly considering switching to a new salon. It's unfortunate that such a lovely hair salon can have people answering the phone in that manner. Re-train asap! read more

Went into Salon Dicapelli nervous to get highlights because my hair was so dry already. The stylist Carmela reassured me she was using the best products on my hair and it would come out soft and healthy. I am glad I listened to her because my highlights came out AMAZING and my hair looks and feels great! I also cut my hair a lot shorter and the cut is just what I wanted.
