Newly opened food truck with Sinoloan style seafood. Super fresh. BYOB. The aguachile was outstanding. Fantastic homemade lemonade.

Almost like "dirty crawfish". After 1 bite I didn't finish them. The sauce was very good. I gave it 3 stars because I went in with 3 other people and what they had was tasty. I'm going to try other items- when we return. Maybe they are still working the bugs out. Went today again and tried the Phillycheese steak loaded and Egg-rolls ... absolutely fabulous!!

The staff does not fully understand what the menu items come with and thinks that everything is the boil sauce. I order the garlic noodle box with extra garlic sauce. When my food came out it was covered in the ohh la la boil sauce. When I explained that the sauce that usually is with it is clear not red, she said this is what they use. I said it doesn't look like the photo on the board, her response was bc I asked for extra. I said extra does not mean change the type. She then just looked at me. I asked for a remake so it's like the photo. It seems that they rinsed off the noodles bc they were cold and thru the smoked sausage that I bit off and egg that I bit and placed it on top and smothered more red sauce on it! This is the last time, and I will not be bringing my family and friends or suggesting this place to anyone.

LA Spicy is one of the OG Viet-Cajun spots on the north side and has clearly been around for a…read morewhile. The space is a good size, but service could use some improvement... though honestly, that's kind of expected with older crawfish joints. The crawfish were solid, not the best I've had, but still good. The garlic butter sauce is unique with a strong tamarind presence. Personally, I'd love a little less tamarind and more Cajun seasoning. The crawfish tails were juicy (always a good sign they're properly soaked), and they use real garlic, which makes a difference. The shrimps were big and juicy, very delicious. Grilled oysters were fresh and plump but could've used more sauce. The standout for me was the razor clams! They were perfectly grilled with fried shallots and crushed peanuts toppings and thick fish sauce that complemented them really well. Also, their michelada was surprisingly really good. Overall, a solid, classic spot if you're craving Viet-Cajun.

The crawfish was cooked to perfection. I did not have any overcooked crawfish. They were plump and fresh. I had a few big crawdaddies in there but most were like medium so I was happy. The shrimp could use a little work but we still ate into it. The Cajun fries were hot and crispy and I had no complaints. At this time they were running a deal buy 5 pounds get 1 free.

We ordered: - Fried Calamari - Fried Seafood Platter | Fried flounder, deviled crab, baby shrimp, fried oysters, jumbo shrimp The fried calamari was actually very good. The batter was light, crispy, and perfectly salted. The fried seafood platter was very lackluster. Unlike the calamari, the batter was soggy. The side of fries that came with it was soggy and flavorless as well.

"Flat" breading. - The cod was rubbery. I could not eat. Sent it back for fried catfish. Fishy. - -Tartar sauce is served in a plastic squeeze bottle and is runny. -Salad was just a very basic bowl of iceberg with three tiny slices of tomatoes and cucumber topped with mixed cheese. Dressing was like water and in a plastic squeeze bottle. - hushpuppies were the best thing, but not in the shape of a ball, but a small dog turd. - on the seafood platter, the best thing were the fried oysters. - baked potato was not even good. Served in foil and plain. You are given one plastic tube of sour cream and some margarine in those tiny cups (like at Wendy's or other fast food). No crackers on table. Before tip, $63. Very sad. They will be closed by October at this rate.

I called and asked if the rice was fresh / cooked today and was told that it was cold because it was made some time ago. Which to me was an unacceptable answer, as receiving cold rice that is usually served hot at a restaurant can be a food safety concern, as it often indicates improper storage, specifically leaving cooked rice at room temperature for too long. This creates an ideal environment for Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that produces toxin causing food poisoning. The person I spoke with on the phone was polite but not helpful, fresh rice would've been nice. Thanks.

We could hear and see them actually making our food and when it came out it was piping hot with steam coming off of it. They also make homemade tortillas. Yummy. We will definitely go back.

When you walk in, you find your own seating and place your order right from your seat. If you enjoy cold beers and micheladas, this is definitely the place to order them. We also ordered the Texas Mini Plate, which came with two catfish fillets, three shrimps, and fries. The portions were great and the prices are very affordable! Unfortunately, I noticed a big change this time around. The breading on both the fish and shrimp tasted different--much saltier and kind of overpowered the flavor. Not sure if the recipe has changed, but I personally prefer the original breading. That light, well-seasoned coating was part of what made me keep coming back over the years. Hoping this was just an off day or that the original recipe makes a comeback soon
