I was so in love with my quesadilla, I have to confess. I have no memory of what Mr. B ordered. So bear with me. This cute little Mexican diner popped up on my husband's phone. We were in the area for other reasons and he was beyond hungry, impatiently waiting for me to scroll through my bookmarks, so took matters into his own hand. Truthfully, it was good he did. I would have overlooked this place because of their less than 4.0 ratings, snob that I am. But the promise of Mexican seafood struck a chord, and it was under a mile to get there. In a rather lackluster shopping mall, Mexico Lindo stuck out. The front was surrounded by huge Mexican pots planted with giant Bird of Paradise plants, making it look quite tropical. Adorable, colorful, and inviting, it bought back ancient memories of a rich adventure in 1982 driving down the Pacific coastline, going deep into Mexico as far south as San Blas. With such loving care dedicated to the outside appearance, suddenly, I got more interested. The inside was clean and spacious, with delightful Banda or was that Norteno music (what do I know?) booming out of a strategically placed juke box. It was fun. The menu was very impressive, multi pages, but it was the camarones (shrimp) quesadilla appetizer that finally won the argument in my brain. When it came out of the kitchen, there was the typical, large, blistered flour tortilla folded into a half moon shape, lumpy with cheese oozing out the sides and small shrimp hiding inside. It covered the plate with just enough room for a scoop of sour cream and scoop of guacamole. Ok, so not particularly showy. I hadn't expected that. But my first bite completely disarmed me. It was juicy and buttery, almost like a beautiful, camerones al mojo de ajo filling. It had flavorful little bits of tomato, onion, and cilantro cooked with the shrimp. While the shrimp were small, they were cleaned, no sandy intestines, and were fresh to taste. Utterly delicious. Would I be capable of controlling myself and bring some home? I struggled. And luckily my willpower won. As I am writing this review, I am once again living this glorious food a day later. Ok. I think Mr B had an huevos Ranchero plate with rice and beans. Yep, he says. One of the worst Mexican restaurants we have ever been to in our lives! Everything we ate wasn't good. The ranch isn't made fresh, it's out of a bottle. The chicken tacos and guacamole had no flavor at all! Horrible service on top of that, dirty restaurant and dirty bathrooms. I am so grossed out with the whole experience. Stay away from this restaurant what a waste of time and money! We are so disappointed! They also have hidden fees we saw on the receipt. $3 debit fee, and $11 for one beer! Cleanliness is non existent at this place. Roaches everywhere! Floors are sticky, food is marginal. Bathroom is dirty!

I had the carne en chile. The meat was very fatty and too chewy. Chips and salsa were good. Margaritas could be stronger. They were smoothie style even though we requested on the rocks. Only complaint is that the menu says it has bell peppers and onions but I've never had it with that before so either the cook needs to be informed or they need to update their menu. My wife, son, and I decided to try this place out. It was in a shopping center with a grocery store and other businesses. We walked in and were grated and shown our seat quickly. The place was decorated nicely and reminded me of the restaurants I grew up with. My wife got a civiche tostada, my son got a burrito, and I got an enchilada combo meal. My wife really like the tostada. My son really likes the burrito, and had some to take home for later. I was able to split my meal into two. The food was very delicious and I would come back again. I was let down by their albondigas soup though. That will be a hard pass from now on. read more

Breakfast Burrito Tour: Euclid-71-60-DTLA I entered bright and early on a weekday morning, the only soul inside moments after opening time, save for the smiling woman behind the walk-up counter and the cook in the back, whose presence was given away by clinking and clanking. They have a large menu, including a wide selection of desayunos. I was only interested in a breakfast burrito, a category of the menu that itself offered several choices. I went with the one on top--chorizo and papas, with eggs and cheese. classic rarely-goes-wrong selection. The price-to-size ratio was very reasonable. A bit hefty but not ridiculous for a while-commuting attempt at sustenance. It was a good burrito, quite possibly spot on for many customers. For me, good but not great. For one, the chorizo they use is a bit greasier than I like in a burrito. I prefer it to lean towards a freshly prepared sausage with a slightly coarser grind (much like that used by Juanito's on the opposite end of the parking lot). This was closer to the kind mimicked by soyrizo that comes semi-liquid in the tube. I also have a personal preference for the eggs and chorizo to be cooked separately. I know it's very common and presumably preferred by many for them to be scrambled together. But for me the eggs lose all their fluffy individuality and delightful egginess, swallowed up by the strongly seasoned and fatty chorizo. Here, they scramble together. Meanwhile, across the parking lot.... The grease of the chorizo inevitably makes its way onto the outside of the tortilla, making clean consumption a bit trickier (or impossible. I took friendly fire). The salsa they provide with the order is a fresh, salsa casera style preparation that one would expect at a fully-fledged Mexican restaurant such as this one. It tastes great but it's not as well suited as smooth salsas taqueras for pouring out of little plastic cups and onto burritos. All in all, a high quality product, the service was great and friendly, and I'd be happy to come back and try more of their food. read more

We love this place!!! My boyfriend and I tried this place today and we really liked the food as well as the ambience of this restaurant. We ordered off the lunch special menu and we got a decent amount of food for the price we paid $8.65 per plate (rice, beans, drink with item ordered). A guy came up to us and gave us our drinks quickly. The waitress on the other hand took her time to approach us. Complained it was warm and asked tried asking my sister for us to move inside. If you don't want to go outside why have outdoor dining? The food came quickly and actually tasted good. The waitress peaked her head out the door to ask if we wanted anything. She was asked to bring a Orchata and she never brought it to my mom. She went to clean other tables instead of giving us her drink. Worst waitress ever.
