Los Koras is a solid experience from start to finish. Be warned, during the weekend nights it gets LOUD from the live music. They have rotating bands that play various tunes, but usually it's classic and new wave Mexican norteño and requinto. During my visit, they had a solid group. Although it was a tad loud for my liking, it was still a cool experience. Inside it's dressed up nicely and the high ceilings with beams almost make it feel like you're in a puerto restaurant off the coast. Table service is top notch even on a Sunday night. Where it falls short from a perfect score was their food. Some portions were off compared to similar local places for certain plates like the molcajete de mariscos. For my plate, the mojarra frita (fried tilapia) was delicious! It goes well with tortillas and lime. You can make fish tacos with it or dig in. My one thing was the rice and beans lacking a bit on flavor. The beans especially miss the mark, but still decent altogether. Even so, on a weekend night with live music and a couple beers it's not a big deal. Their salsas range from not spicy to SPICY, so that's good. Also Modelo and other imports on draft! I had to give this place another chance. On my first visit about a year or so ago, I ordered something basic like a chimichanga. Nah, don't do that. You have to order something else. So, I look at the extensive menu and decided on grilled shrimp. I can't pronounce it in Spanish so I pointed to it. I hit the jackpot!! I don't even think they are shrimp, maybe more of langostinos. Head, eyeballs and antennas, split opened and seasoned beautifully! It came with at least 12-15 huge split grilled "shrimp". Service was fast enough for me to sit and almost finish my beer. It came out piping hot and fresh! I couldn't believe it! The shrimp peeled out of the shell easily and honestly, I ate the shell and all of at least 5 of them. Don't judge me! I was in the mood for arroz con pollo but did not want to drive across town to my usual spot for it. A friend recommended this spot as it's within 10 minutes from my home. We met up and dined in. Our waiter was sweet and patient as the menu was extensive. Although I was in the mood for (and ordered) the ACP, I still took my time to go through it. There wasn't anything special about it. It's your run of the mill ACP. I did eat it all, no take home box. I can easily make 2 meals out of an ACP, but not from what I was served. It was pretty empty so we sat and chatted up for about an extra hour. They did periodically check up on us, but also gave us our space. We didn't feel like they were trying to run us out. It's a pretty decent place to swing by to grab some Mexican food. Next time I'll try something that requires a bit more skill to make. read more

Came here to just get a few drinks and they were having a whole party in there! I was highly impressed. They had a live mariachi band performance and had the whole restaurant enjoying themselves. Chips and Dip was excellent along with the drinks. Excellent customer service too! read more

I heard of Los Koras is a great restaurant, boy was I surprised. It was surprisingly great. The place was full on a Saturday afternoon. The Menu is very creative. They do have a large menu, so it was difficult to decide what to order. I ordered Ostiones preparados. It's oysters with shrimp ceviche on top; It was delicious. Also, I tried the Tostadas de mariscos, and it's another must try here. Th octopus was tender and tasty. I definitely will stop by next time I'm in the area. read more

I very much enjoyed my first experience here. The food was great, the service was friendly, and there was live music for a short while. Finally an authentic Mexican seafood place that is not americanized. The coctels are not sweet overwhelmed with ketchup, a variety of aguachiles and ceviches with cucumber, yessssss. Real Baja tacos with the original breading, empanadas that you won't find nowhere in the triad. We were too hungry to go home and cook after shopping and this was the closest place on the way. We figured we couldn't go wrong with Mexican food, but wow were we pleasantly surprised! The food was beyond excellent! We had the Langostinos Los Koras and these super tostadas loaded with octopus, shrimp, and tons of other fresh ingredients like tomatoes, pickled onions and cilantro. So glad we stopped at this gem. It's two of my favorite things in the world MEXICAN FOOD AND SEAFOOD in one place! When I looked at the menu, I couldn't decide, I wanted to try everything!!! If you are looking for authentic Mexican this is the place to go. I ended up getting the shrimp chimichanga which came with rice, beans, and a small salad (lettuce, tomato, onion). From the look of the plate you can tell immediately this isn't tex-mex, the refried beans actually had texture. I am not entirely sure what type of bean they used...if I were to guess I would say pintos and navy beans, but I really don't know. They were tasty. The chimichanga was created beautifully! I would order it again. My husband ordered shrimp enchilada and he raved about the sauce! He couldn't get enough of it! Next time we go back we will order the empanadas! He ignored me, then gave me attitude when I asked for the check (we waited 30 minutes for this), and after I asked for it, he turned to his friend and spoke in Spanish. Came with the check, then stopped to flirt with some girls in Spanish. The menus were sticky (at 2:00 pm! - supposed to be wiped down at the beginning of each shift). Seafood, seafood, seafood! This is your place to get away from the normal Mexican fare you find at every other corner in this area. I had Chicharrón de Pescado and it didn't disappoint. I was craving some Mexican food a I happened to stumble onto this place before going home! The place was very lively! I think I came on a day where they had live music, but I had a good experience there. The music however, just a tad louder than I would've liked because it was hard to order food over the music but the waiters were very patient and understanding. I even got to witness a man dancing without a care in the world to the band playing. After I placed my food order, they gave me fresh chips and salsa which were delicious. Not going to lie, the salsa was a bit spicier than I expected but still delicious nonetheless. The main entree came out pretty quickly and the presentation looked great. I ordered the ceviche de camarones and the ceviche de pescado. I ate the ceviche de pescado because it looked less intimidating that the ceviche de camarones, but it tasted wonderful! This place is a bit more pricier than I expected but then again they do mainly serve seafood so it's understandable. I actually waited to write this review so I wasn't emotional about our experience. But this was by far the WORST Mexican I've had in my life and I generally don't get bad Mexican. Firstly, my family and I (husband and 3 children) visited this place on a Tuesday afternoon at roughly 2:45pm. There was no other people in the restaurant. We were barely greeted and waited for a longer period of time than expected just to have our drink order taken. We noticed that the menu said lunch prices over at 3pm, so we asked about it with the waitress. She said it should be fine but to place our order prior to 3pm, which we did. We always order guacamole and it was by far not worth a penny. It was overwhelmed with lime and tomatoes. We didn't even hardly eat it. My children generally only get Mexican rice and fries, which they ordered, only to our surprise of receiving essentially white rice. I mean...never have I ever had white rice at a Mexican restaurant. Service was slow-unheard of at a Mexican restaurant and the food just wasn't good. It was overpriced for what it was and to top it off, the waitress barely refilled our drinks at all. Remember, we were the only people in the restaurant. We only chose this place because it was 4 stars but now see it was over a year ago. They must be under new management or something because the reviews were not reflected of what we saw while there. Lastly, when our ticket came the lunch price wasn't honored. We inquired about it only to be gaslighted by the waitress. The ultimately made it right, however the damages were already done. I would NOT return here nor recommend it to anyone else. I'm sure you can find better Mexican in Greensboro. As a matter of fact, the next time we had Mexican we went to La Bamba and had a much better experience. read more
