We were passing through town and saw the sign for Buffet. This coupled with the Sheriff Dept SUVs in the parking lot drew us in. We figured it must be good. Once inside, we heard lots of Spanish being spoken by the patrons. Yep. This is gonna be good! We got menus, but opted for the buffet ($13+) and we were not disappointed! The enchiladas were excellent, as were the Chili Rellenos. Taquitos, rice, & beans rounded out the selection. I wish the salsas had been labeled, as it was a crap shoot which ones were hotter, but everything we tried was really good! Soup, Salad, Roast Pork, Chicken, Barbacoa, Carne Asada, Whole grilled fish, Rice and beans -- and at a most reasonable price. Maybe it's just this place is for locals. We are from out of state. Stopped in here for lunch. Nobody told us we had to get our own salsa and which side was hot or mild. The chips were heavy - not the light chips found in other places. The buffet was overpriced in my opinion as it had limited options and not even ground beef for enchiladas or tacos. The food is good, but the buffet has significantly declined. They hardly put out any meat, unless it is tripe or a very cheap cut of pork cut in very tiny pieces. Sometimes it is paper thin pork steak, which is not good. The majority of the food on the buffet is heavy on sauce and veggies, with a very mild scatter of meat, for example the chicken enchiladas they always have out every day. They need to make the buffet worth the price they are charging us, and put some meat entrees out there to fill you up, I don't go there to eat veggies. Sometimes they do a shrimp entree, but not often. Bring back some REAL chicken and beef, so that we can enjoy the buffet again. I know they are watching their costs to try to keep the price down, but we want MEAT. I leave disappointed more times than I leave satisfied. (I am a local and have been giving them my business for years). I must admit the menudo is great, when they have it and I also enjoy the chile rellenos (which of course has no meat). read more

Amazing is right! Driving through on a road trip stopped here to grab a fast lunch and was pleasantly surprised that they had a buffet along with a a menu selection. We decided on their buffet and wasn't disappointed. We sampled their vegetable soup, pork pastor, chicken enchiladas, stuffed cheese poblano peppers, rice, beans and chocolate cake. They had an assortment of tasty salsas. Nothing was greased or heavily with gravy so even though we were full we didn't feel weighed down. We certainly give it our thumbs up. PS. Great place to eat . It's accessible for semi trucks to park . They do have menu and buffet option . Buffet has : 2 types of soups, shrimps, fried fish, enchiladas, 3 types of meat in sauce , pizza and cake and salsa bar . Buffet food tastes pretty good , I liked their posole ( it was tasty) . I'm not sure what all of the raving reviews are about. This "authentic Mexican Food" Restaurant looks the part for sure, but the food is just okay. I had the enchiladas verdes-I asked to replace the shredded chicken with chicken fajita, the waitress said "I can't do that". The shredded chicken was more like a chicken paste with chunks of chicken mixed in... yuck! Although the sauce on top was really good. My husband ordered the chicken and beef fajitas- beef was ok, but the chicken tasted warmed up. Not good. It took a very long time for the waitress to bring chips and drink refills. I'm not sure what the other restaurants in the town are like, but I will say this one was okay at best. read more

We needed a place to stop between Colorado and Texas. We live in CO and were so craving good TexMex. What we got was great TM. First the place is very clean and all 10, yes TEN salsas were well iced. We got there for the buffet and decided to try it. We had the carne adobo. Chichirones, tostada tacos. Rice and beans and chicken enchiladas. For $10 you get the buffet and a drink, fresh flour and corn tortillas and 10 salsas to use. What more can you want? The enchiladas had a lot of chicken, they just didn't tolerate the steam trays. But they were delicious. The wait staff were very friendly and so excited to see us. They were very helpful. The chips were fresh fried strips. Not the usual triangle version. I'm giving Mariscas a 5 for the decor, cleanliness, variety and freshness of options. Nothing was greasy. Just pretty and fresh looking. read more

Growing up, we were always told that you should never get anything at a restaurant other than their specialized cuisine. Wellll today this saying was blown out of the water...don't be afraid to try the Mexican burger. A Delicious take on an American classic with Mexican flair. Like a lot of folks, we were traveling from one place to another and saw the crowded parking lot then checked the reviews and decided to try it. There was a line, but it moved fast. Chicken flautas, perfect for dipping in the large array of salsas. Rice, beans ( the good lardy kind), chicken enchiladas in salsa verde. Yum. Then some stuff I do t know what it is. Some small cubes of a skin or fat? In a spicy sauce. A meat and potato hash. Red sauce w big cubes of beef or pork, not sure but great to wrap in their homemade flour tortillas. In the corner there is a selection of a bunch of salsas. And baby these suckers are hot. Not like El Chico. The real kind of hot. This is a pretty sweet place. The wait is pretty long (45 mins) but overall the food is worth it. I ordered a New York style steak with french fries which was really good. The waiter was really nice, too bad I didn't get her name but she had red hair and was really nice though. I'll give this place 4 stars. read more
