This place is so good and they have amazing fish tacos. I work nearby so me and my coworkers walk over for the $2.50 fish tacos. The fish tacos are a generous portion and they have amazing sauces that go with it. Their menu has a good variety of tacos, burritos, and cocktails which I also love the aguachiles verde. It's the perfect amount of spicy and very delicious. This is my go to for aguachiles for the location and the quality. They have folding tables and chairs that are ready for you to eat your food right there as well. Everyone is very nice and I recommend checking this place out for amazing fish tacos. read more

I work in South El Cajon and could not believe that there aren't any Mexican Seafood places anywhere! Like, wtf? So I searched "food trucks" as well, and nothing. So sad.. So when I broadened my search, I came across Mariscos La Bola. It was a quick 15 min drive from my work. I decided to go during lunch, just to see if I could manage it. When I got there I saw a few people waiting for their food, so I went to order. Upon browsing their menu, I noticed that their prices were higher than most places I had been to. But I was already there, and had my fingers crossed that 1. The food was good. 2. It would be ready quickly. I ordered 3 fish tacos, and was offered a consomé soup. When my order was ready, I looked around for salsas, but there weren't any. Whaa..??? I asked and was given their own homemade salsa; it was ok. But their fish tacos? AMAZING. Huge pieces of battered fish! Lots of veggies, and sauce. In fact, they were so big, I was only able to eat two of them. On a separate occasion I tried their tostada de ceviche de camarón. It was good, but not worth the $8 I paid for it. Maybe $6. It's a shame that I didn't take any pictures. Hands down the best deal in town for fish tacos and they're generous with their portions. Their prices have gone up a little since before COVID, but that obviously understandable and pretty expected. The ladies who run and own this food truck are great and make some pretty good grub as well. After work, I stopped by to check them out and ordered a couple of fish tacos a la plancha or griddles over a hot flat service. The were pricey at $5 a piece out of the norm that I usually pay at the rest of the food trucks at $3.50. There price is no reflected on the menu.The fried fish tacos are well priced at $1.70 each. The tacos came with a good amount of well seasoned and griddle fish. The fish was piping hot and succulent and each taco came with two individual portions. I like the golden brown sear they applied to the fish. Both tacos came handsomely filled with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, chopped onions, and a touch of cilantro. I asked for no mayo but definitely put some of their tasty creamy chipotle sauce that's available in one of those large plastic squeeze bottles. They double wrap each taco with warm corn tortillas which I truly appreciated. If you love seafood. This place has what your looking for. We had the fish & shrimp tacos and they are regular size not street taco size. Good size portion of fish and shrimp in tacos. We also tried the ceviche camaron (shrimp) large portions with tostada shells. Great taste!! The complimentary consome (seafood broth) was very flavorful and came with 2 large shrimps. Food was amazing sometimes you see prices to high and food portions very small but on this place that wasn't the case the food portion is a good size for the price and its actually full of flavor. The marlin tacos are phenomenal! There is enough fish for 4 tacos ! The shrimp cocktails are also delicious with tons of flavor. My niece ordered the grilled shrimp taco and for $5.75 we got 16 shrimps in that thing, killer deal ! I would give them 5 stars but the two times I have come to get food the self-serve salsas are always warm and the onions and limes have a lot of flies buzzing around. It used to be a mission to get good seafood. Either you asked a relative to make you some bomb ceviche/fish tacos or drive all the way to the south. Luckily for us we were referred to this bomb place here in the city. So far I've tried the fish tacos, the fish tostada, the shrimp taco, and the tostada de aguachile in the green sauce. I loved the fish tostada especially with their habanero hot sauce. One tostada makes 2. The aguachile tostada was one of my favorites. I asked for it to go and it was enough for almost 3 tostadas. It wasn't too spicy, should've gotten hot sauce to go. The batter-fried fish and shrimp tacos are good, top them off with red onions and hot sauce and you're set. You get a small cup of fish soup broth (consomé) while you wait for your food. I usually save it to drink it while I'm eating my tacos. Next, I'll be trying their prepared clams. They look really good. Now, I've meant to take pictures for this review but I always end up eating my food before I get the chance to. Can't wait . One of these days I will. The food is a little pricey but worth it. Saving gas and time lol. Just tried the shrimp and clam cocktail!! Sooooo good. The juice (caldo) has a very good flavor. I've tried cocktails at other places and they taste like water with ketchup. Anyway, I got the small one $14 and it was packed!! Every spoonful had clam and good amount of shrimp. We had a horrible experience on 4/18/20. We placed our order at 2:47pm and asked for our food status at 3:50pm. There was people who placed there order after us and received there food before us. When we asked for the status of the food we had paid for. The two ladies that were working were very rude. I am extremely disappointed in this place since a-lot of people had recommended it. Food is good and portions are as well good. But they need to step up their game in the kitchen with a faster cook. I was there 1 hour for a campechana and 2 tacos. Next time I come I will upgrade review and give them a 3 stars if they keep serving slow. Some stand up tables, another canopy and some music will work wonders here.
