Tonight was my first time here and I'm so happy we decided on this place. My hunny and I were craving seafood so we took a drive to see what sounded good and with the help of Yelp! we came across this delicious find. When you drive up, you can't help but say "Oh how cute!"...or maybe that's just me....but it's attached to this sweet little plaza and it is just full of character. Love it! We walked in and were greeted by the hostess. She saw we had our 1 year old with us so she gave us a high chair and let us choose our table. Very accommodating! It's pretty big inside so they're great for groups. We ordered empanadas as an app and yes....shame on me for drinking in front of my baby "cover your eyes sweetie!"...but I had to order one of their amazing Micheladas. It was perfect. Husband had the filet of fish stuffed with seafood. It was spicy and fresh and full of flavor! I've never had octopus until today and I really liked it. Would definitely have it again! Now, at the risk of sounding fat, I'm gonna tell you what I ordered...it's not so much what I ordered but the waitress's reaction. I was the first to order and I asked for the Aztec Molcajete which has chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, cheese and veggies. She said "Ok! Sounds good!" And closed her book up and my husband was like "And I'll have..." And she said "Oh ok, yes" but I think she thought we were gonna share haha! She obviously hasn't seen our get down because we don't go out often but when we do we always over order so we can try everything and take home food for later. I could hardly put a dent in the thing but it was amazing. I highly recommend it! I cannot wait to go back. The staff was super friendly and checked on us often. The service was really fast too! Hello Guys today I decided to review a restuarant in tulare called mariscos costa azul. This place deserves 2 stars for plenty of reasons. This place did not have the ingredients for many of the dishes which was very unprofessional. The Price for food is very high and not worth it and the waiting time for the food was very long and not worth it. The day we went the music being played was very loud and made us not enjoy being there alot of customers left very quick due to the music being very loud. read more

One star only for the aguachile. The service is absolutely terrible. We ordered drinks with one waitress and then another came to us asking us what we wanted to drink. Not to mention when my boyfriend was ordering his drink (with the first waitress) she acted like he was speaking a foreign language. He was speaking Spanish to a Spanish speaking waitress. We ordered aguachile verde and a coctel de camaron. We get served coctel de camaron y pulpo. Not bad except for the pulpo was hard as a rock. We ordered two micheladas as well and they were 2/10 tasted watered down. The aguachile was good no complaints. (They only gave me two tostadas for a big as* portion of food) the chip's definitely needed salt and the salsa was just okay. For a Saturday night the place was pretty dead. First time going there. They are really slow our waitress was really slow. People that got there after us got their food first. She was bringing everyone the wrong order. My husband asked for red rice and she gave him white rice. Then she wanted to charge extra to bring a side of rice. You only get two tortillas. Deceiving and misleading happy hour sign outside the restaurant. I went on a Tuesday thinking I was paying 2 for 1 margaritas. Got the bill and was shocked. They were not 2 for 1. Came in for dinner on a Thursday and it was dead we were the only people there plus another family....they had one beer on tap available....on a Thursday? Ordered camarones al mojo de ajo and got a total of six medium sized shrimp that were over seasoned with garlic, tried taking some of it off and the shrimp were taste less...the waitresses don't bother asking you if you'd like a refill on your drink...I've been here 45 minutes and was only initially offered my first drink...tried not to choke on the over seasoned shrimp. My child asked for chicken tenders (yes it's on the menu) and they brought her chicken nuggets that were hard. Oh let's not forget she came back AFTER taking my food order to ask me what type of tortillas I wanted with my food only to not bring them at all. The food here is awful. I'm not sure who makes the refried beans here but my god they must add a whole container of salt to them! I could feel my body starting to retain water after the first bite LOL seriously though, the beans are nasty. If everything else was super bland then I could see the salt in the beans making up for it but that is not the case. The chile verde does not taste fresh or traditional and when you order hard shell tacos they bring you soft. When taking my drink order I asked for a coke and the girl said they only had Pepsi but I was literally looking at a glass bottle of coke when I asked for it.... when I mentioned that she said "oh yeah" and grabbed it haha Service was lacking and food was not good. Hello, I would like to start off by saying when my spouse and I first arrived to the restaurant music was playing and it wasn't too busy and is was round 6PM when we arrived by the way, so I would assume everything would be okay to sit for the evening and have a drink and enjoy some food as I thought.... So we waiting five minutes at just to get someone's attention when first arrived to be seated, after we were seated, the waitress took out drink orders okay but took ten minutes to come back with our drink and an additional ten more minutes to bring chips and salsa when I thought that's one of the first things served at the table before drinks. My spouse orders a burrito and for myself I ordered a Molcajete, we waited and additional 40 minutes to wait for our food, REMINDER IT WAS NOT BUSY WHATSOEVER, and when my Molcajete came out IT WAS NOT HOT, IT WAS NOT WARM, IT WAS COLD ASF!!! And waited and additional 10 minutes for my spouses burrito which came out a bit cold also, she only ate a quarter of the burrito and had to take it to go, and unfortunately for myself where I don't eat until my spouse also receives her food just like any other couple would wait to eat with them, so I just also packed it up to got and just finished my beer and we left honestly worst customer service I've had in a while, hands down I cannot make this up smh. read more

Outrageous! The food and service were decent but the behavior they allow is mind boggling. As we were exiting we encounter a woman who had been over served alcohol and then kicked out while her company (driver) was allowed to stay. We called the woman an Uber as she was clearly unable to find her way after being served an absurd amount of alcohol to the point where she was kicked out for vomiting in the restroom. Admittedly, this isn't their fault but if they're going to kick her out they should kick the group out. Instead the men who were also intoxicated with her were allowed to stay. As we waited for her Uber, I went inside to request a plastic bag in case she was sick again. While I waited to catch the bartenders attention, the male the sick woman was originally with attempted to fight me! As I stood and patiently waited to ask for a bag, not having spoken a single word to him he asked who I was and what I wanted with an obscene amount of cussing and threats. He told me he'd kill me amongst other things that the bartender ignored. All the while I calmly explained to him I was just waiting for a bag. The bartender EVENTUALLY asked me what I wanted, in a hostile manner, I told her a bag and she said "for what?! What do you want a bag for?!" And I told her "there's a woman outside who was here earlier and is feeling sick, so I just want a bag to give her." She aggressively told me "she has her bag! She took it with her!" After I explained I wanted a bag for her in case she felt ill again, the bartender told me they were out of bags and she couldn't help me. I accepted that and started to walk out when our server (who was polite all along) asked what I needed and I explained it to her and she said she'd get the bag and was back with one within under a minute. What a terrible way to manage an establishment. You'll take a persons money and then treat them like garbage. I would never return to such a place. read more

Great little spot! The molcajete was amazing. Spicy and delicious. Definitely enough to share. I took so much home that it didn't look like I had even touched it. I use to enjoy coming here , but recently it has gone very downhill. Me and my husband came here to eat dinner about a week ago . He ordered a Chile Relleno plate and I got a fried fish . Just the fish no rice or beans . His food was so greasy the Chile relleno was sitting in a pool of oil. He could not even eat it . My fish was super soggy and tasted horrible. No flavor . We both only took about one to two bites each off of our plates and couldn't eat anymore . It was disgusting. The chips and salsa were also gross. Both salsas they brought to use did not taste good at all. How do you go wrong with salsa ? Anyways we told them we couldn't even eat the food because it was not good and they just gave us our bill. No offer to refund or at least a discount. We barley even touched the food but still had to pay $50 on food that was disgusting and inedible. I really loved it!! The food was great. Big portions. Our sever was very nice and attentive. We had our 11 month old with us and he made a mess with the rice, we asked for a broom to clean and she said it's not problem, she would do it. I felt really bad but we left her a good tip. The drink wasn't strong enough and she gave me a double shot, shut me up lol. Her service was excellent!! They have chips and salsa. The food didn't take long to be served. Very delicious. I do not recommend Mariscos Costa Azul in Tulare. The customer service was terrible, the food took forever to be served and it was pretty pricy. My family and I went after a graduation, there was about 20 of us. Which is a lot but the waitress was rude and half of our food was cold. I do not recommend going unless you want to get bad customer service, cold food, and pay extra because they automatically add a tip to the bill. read more
