This charming cafe is beyond compare...it is everything you expect from Old Nice. We ordered the pancakes with salmon and the salad with crispy chicken. The pancakes were actually a potato pancake akin to a latke and the crispy chicken salad was served with a delightful aïoli. The fresh lemonade seems to be a big hit. The setting is idyllic, the food is superb and the staff are friendly. They also have a small stall close to their brick and mortar restaurant as well as a stall at the local farmers market. read more

Food & Drink 8/10 The rocher coco was outstanding. Not too dense and the perfect amount of sweetness. Could never get something like this in the states. The only reason it isn't a 10 is because we just came from Italy and I ordered a cappucino that just didn't hit the same as those in Rome and Milan. Atmosphere 10/10 This cafe has the best interior decor I took notes for my apartment. Loved the fact that there was indoor and outdoor seating, so many small details that perfected the entire aesthetic. Light wood and bright sunlight streaming in was the vibe. This place is a STUNNINGLY decorated and charming cottage cafe that I would have loved to go to everyday. They have a bakery with delicious chocolate chip and pistachio cookies that we took to go after our meal. The chai lattes were surprisingly delicious with chai flavoring in the foam. The pancakes aren't a as sweet as what we're use to at home but we still enjoyed them. Would highly recommend the pitcher of lemonade as we all enjoyed it. The service was excellent!! they didn't have berries for a certain pancake so they made other recommendations for us and accommodated us best they could. I'd like to also add that the staff is extremelyyyy welcoming and helpful! They let us take tons of obnoxious pictures in front of their beautiful decor and were so gracious to us. Marinette is a cute cafe and bakery tucked away in the side streets of Nice. We stumbled upon it and loved it so much we went back a second time. This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. We give it an enthusiastic 4/5 stars for the overall good food and baked goods, nice atmosphere, and friendly service. We've had the linguine with stracciatella and chorizo (delicious!), tartine (delicious), tuna steak (ok), and salade de St. Marcellin (good). We also had the watermelon juice and coffee. The drinks were ok but not as enjoyable as the food. The watermelon juice looked nice, but lacked freshness and sweetness. The espresso, cappuccino, and bottled Galvanina sodas were ok but nothing noteworthy. Overall, this is the kind of place we'd go back to several times for a tasty, casual meal. read more

Quintessentially charming French bistro for lunch or brunch offering fresh and healthy food with outdoor rattan seating & some indoor seating as well. It's on a small, shady lane between two buildings which is helpful when the weather is hot. Had the vegetable bowl with seared tuna & fresh lemonade which hit the spot for a light lunch. By far my favorite place to stop for food & drinks in Nice. The ambience is very chic & casual, but everything we ordered was fantastic. This was the best meal I had while visiting Nice. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu is written on a chalkboard that likely changes often based on the season. I had the codfish in a cream sauce with fried onions, which was out of this world. The ingredients were so fresh and yummy. My fiancé got the steak with potatoes and salad which was also really tasty. However, the highlight of our meal was our deserts. I live in NYC so I've had some really good desserts before. The desserts here blow any desserts I've tried in NYC out of the water. We got the chocolate soufflé and tiramisu. They are huge portions but we decided to indulge anyway. Staff was incredibly rude forced us to order food when we did not want to and would not bring us the check unless we ordered food

I just left the Marinette having a horrible experience and will never be returning. As someone who travels frequently, and has spent some time in Nice in the past few years, I am extremely disappointed. The waiter, with the face of a mole, of which I saw because he did not wear his mask properly, blatantly made fun of my friends and I to other customers for simply asking for a cup of fruit. We we're told it was not possible, yet saw him give the same cup of fruit to another table. He also went on to mock us in English and shamed us for being confused when he provided zero clarification when needed. We asked for water and had to wait nearly an hour for cups. Our coffee was cold by the time it arrived to our table. We are not fluent in French, yet we always do our best to be respectful and polite when interacting with natives. I hope that others do not have the same experience as us. In my opinion, do not waste your time here. read more
