The front desk was absolutely great - getting us checked in early which was incredibly appreciated after a 24 hour travel day! We did try for breakfast but they seemed understaffed and didn't acknowledge us so we left. Rooftop bar - excellent view, creative drinks, expect the prices to be sky high too!

The lounge had a great view and delicious buffet. Our room was ready by 1015, and our luggage waiting when we got to the room. Our room overlooks Sydney harbor, is well appointed and very comfortable. Well stocked minibar, and a water boiler and real cups. In room safe for keeping any gold bars you might have brought along. The view is impressive, too!

Make sure sunblock hat or umbrella . The room and hotel was clean. Love the white linen sheets. Our view is the Darhling harbor. Very nice. The TV here has only regular channel. No cable. The room was enough for 3 of us. Small kitchenette with kitchen wares. We didn't cook bcuz the food here is very reasonable. It was a very friendly place to stay . Definitely will stay again for another vacay here in Sydney. For now c u again Australia. G'mates ..... flying home to California USA

You find old fries within the crevices, you can smell the old owners cologne and you begin to question its reliability? However, the more you drive it, you begin to get used to it's smells and realize that you would rather have that old POS vehicle then nothing at all....... that's what this hotel feels like. It's in an excellent location. Right across the street from Hyde Park and in walking distance to the harbor, opera house and many other places. You drive up and their lobby is nice and clean and their front desk personnel is dressed well. The photos looked good, and I couldn't wait to get to my room to unwind. Parking was an extra $50 ASD per night, but most of the parking downtown is pricey.... we made it in to their tiny garage and found a spot. Got to the room and didn't know how to use the key fob for the lift...eventually got to the room and the key card wouldn't work. Got into their tiny lift again to talk to the front desk and waited a while because their tiny lift can only fit 11 persons.... and I think there are only two lifts. Plus the 2nd floor is some massage school packed with Vietnamese students going up and down the lifts...... ugh! Anyway, we finally get to the room and ...... it's mediocre. The plumbing wasn't that great, the ac kept making this weird vibrating noise periodically that kept me up the first night, I had a view of the top of another building (and I was in the 3rd floor), the oven/stove thing didn't fit the counter right so it was hanging. Oh ya they charge for Wi-Fi after tricking u into using their 30minute complimentary Wi-Fi. Let's just say all in all, for the price it beats staying in a hostel, however, maybe next time I would consider paying the extra $$. I think we paid $160/night USD and then an extra $50 ASD a night for parking. Their pool was ok, the route to the pool and sauna was a little sketchy.. and their fitness room was tiny. The weather was nice so I utilized the outdoors for running. Would I stay here again? Maybe not, but I wasn't entirely disappointed because the location was the best thing about this place. Plus the hotel wasn't horrible, it was just .....meh..... ok. The front desk guy and girl were friendly..... didn't see much of them for the duration of my trip.

What's changed is the neighborhood... The central business district used to be well located for site seeing but pretty dead atmosphere wise. Just corporate buildings and workers. Quiet at night and silent on the weekends. Now, it's an amazing hub of activity with residents, coffee shops, restaurant, bars, shops and more plus the corporate buildings. The main drag, George Street, is now pedestrian only and relaxing to walk along. We look forward to returning again somehow, some way, in the future! We already agreed Mantra 2 on Bond Street will be our destination again! The room was spacious, I loved the luxury bedding, Toto washlet toilet, Le Labo amenities! Breakfast at the hotel was so great - they had an Asian breakfast menu and served sticky rice, wonton soup and chicken congee. The Dining Room has delicious food - Superb! The second day I went down to the front desk asked for my room to be cleaned and was told it would be cleaned right away. An hour later the room hadn't been entered. I went into Sydney and arrived back just before 3pm and asked at the front desk and was told it was al taken care of. THAT WAS A LIE! Nobody had touched the room when I came back. Motel 6 does better but my problem is that any corporate entity that tells it's employees to tell the customers what they want to here and don't do their due diligence and then lie to the cstomers is wrong on any level!
