The service and lessons feel very impersonal and it was not a good vibe to start lessons. Also, you cannot reschedule your appointment if your child is sick or you cannot attend for a reason. You get a online lesson sent to you, not the one on one you paid for. WAA does explain this to us in the beginning, but at the end, this was one of the many reasons we didn't move forward. If you are looking for violin lessons, look for someone that specializes in only that instrument. We did not get that here.

My girl gets the very best because she deserves it and deserves the very best of me. The show is pretty much a circus with Halloween costumes. Absolutely fantastic time and the best was near the end when the MC came out and removed his clothing. My girlfriend pulled out a dollar from her pocket and tucked it in the man's underwear as he acted like a stripper, a terrible one at that. He saw I was recording so he decided to take my phone to record everyone from his point of view. I thought that was so freaking cool until he decided to stretch out his underwear and everyone was like "Nooo" but YES he did, he tossed it down his pants!!! He even rubbed it on his ass for good measure. The spotlight was on my girlfriend & I as we were historically laughing in the front row. The best part is the MC was being so comical that he even recorded everything so I got an absolutely amazing video of everything he did including footage of his junk when he tossed my phone down his underwear and needless to say it was very small. LMFAO!!! Front row seating was worth every dollar I paid and the video footage we got in the end is one of the best memories I can cherish. Had an absolute BLAST!! My only complaint is that there was no a/c in the large tent they setup and while it was warm it wasn't so bad that we didn't enjoy ourselves. We had funnel cake so the plate it was in became a hand fan. I fanned my girlfriend the entire time with an occasional fanning of myself. We got there early enough to watch them putting up their big tents. That is a lot of work. They change the show every year, but they always have the favorites. We decided on HAD because it has all the things she wanted at the time.(lots of performance opportunities, kind experienced teachers, a friendly dance community, a focus on ballet and proudly stayed away from some of the dubious costume choices one sees at competition studios). I could go on and on about this place,but I will try to be concise. A few notes on why we love this studio still (7 years later and going strong) 1. Safety. They use a defined curriculum (The Cecchetti Method). It may seem slow, but no kid goes up on pointe until they are physically ready. This helps reduce and prevent injury and provides a clear path toward their goals. 2. Quality. As my kid and her friends transitioned into High School, they were all able to succeed at any high school program (academy for performing arts, dance team, ASB), whatever direction they went, the dance foundation they got at HAD paved the way. 3. Options. There are many levels and styles of dance that kids can focus on. They can spend 1 hour a week at HAD or 12. They can aspire to join the studio youth company or become a student demonstrator or just perform in the spring recital. 4. Opportunity. So many of the kids have gone on to prestigious collegiate dance programs, some have pursued successful dance careers at world class dance companies around the world. Some danced in a few shows,gained confidence, learned about taking corrections, hard work and collaboration and took that to the next thing. 5. Community. Most of my kids closest friendships were fostered here. She has some incredible mentors and role models in the teachers and girls who have gone through the program before her. I highly recommend you check Huntington Academy of dance for your child. I believe they offer a free class so check it out to see if it is what you are looking for. Go in and talk to some of the families at the studio or the people at the front desk, they are super helpful!

As a mom, I appreciate this studio because the studio follows the Cechetti method and focuses on performances instead of competitions. The end of the year performances, as well as the performing group shows, are very high quality. As with all things though, the studio, the kids and the parents are not perfect. Each situation is so different. However, as you can see by Miss Kimberly's responses to the reviews, she is very professional and cares deeply about the studio and especially the kids.
