Easy four stars. Cirque Du Soleil is back in my good graces after going to the last tent show in town, Amaluna which was a bore-fest. Volta rocked it from start to finish. The two solo comedy filler acts went on way too long, the washing machine bit, and the beach bit, but the guy put everything he had into them. Lots of work for not much punch. The rest of the acts were fantastic. They were all a lot of fun to watch and the live singing that went along with it created a wonderfully ethereal ambiance. I loved it. Here's a good tip: There really aren't any bad seats so even if you are way in the back you really aren't that far back. That being said, I was seated in section 204. It was close to the center pole and obstructed my view a little bit. You would be much better off sitting in the center part of either section 203 or 204 so your view will not be obstructed. I posted the seating chart in my review if you want to check it out. Sitting off to the sides will not detract from your wonderful experience. As I said, the seats are all good. You can generally find a good deal on tickets during the week from Goldstar and other vendors of discount tickets. I got my tickets directly from Cirque Du Soliel when they were having a black Friday sale. I wanted to change my ticket but there's a $15 charge and I would have to pay full price. There's a $2 and $11 service fee on tickets. No way to avoid it. Parking is $25. I knew that. I need to figure out a place to leave my car and walk. Beating the parking fee isn't easy to do around there though. The restrooms are usually good but this time the doors would not shut on several that I tried, and the restrooms weren't as clean as they usually are. It's pricey for snacks and drinks. A bottle of water is $6. This really is a fun show. My friend that went with me and loved it so much she is going back to see it again. If I can get a super good deal on tickets, I might go too! read more

Love the Cirque shows.... I was expecting more acrobats from Volta but all in all was a good show. And as always the live music is amazing. Normally, too expensive but bought our tickets during the black Friday sale and got really great seats at a great price. Disappointed in the merchandise. I usually look to buy a glass but they only had shot glasses and some cups. I really wanted a glass. Maybe next time. Food and drinks are always super expensive. I wasn't trying to get drunk, but I dis have 3 drinks and I didn't even get a buzz. Alcohol drinks totally watered down. All in all can't wait for the next show read more

Ok. I admit, I got in for free! So great. But the show was awesome! Parts scared me and other parts were....how do I say.... hot. Now, a $6 soda and $9 pretzel sort of shocked me, let alone the $11 nachos. But there is not a bad seat in the house and the show is mesmerizing. The sound was great, not too loud. The lighting was amazing and I was super glad that they had an intermission. A nice break and then on with the show. Bravo! The storyline is a kind reminder that who we see on the outside may not reflect the whole person inside, or the experiences that shaped them. read more

Another fun Cirque show. They introduced several new elements that I had not seen before, and they had several that I always enjoy. Expect amazing trampoline and bike stunts, with lots of additional acrobatics and tumbling. New to me was the aerial performance of someone suspended by their hair. OUCH! They also have ballet and rope stunts which are sure to amaze. Personally, I really liked the beautiful lady who sang and played the blue violin (A+), I was mesmerized by her. Get there early, the entry process is not quick, my group was totally annoyed. Expect to pay $25 for parking which feel egregious to me. As always, great concessions (food & show gifts), but it's going to cost you. Cirque also serves adult beverages (alcohol) under the big top. Out of all the Cirque shows I've seen, this one was just okay. I don't feel like I saw anything new that created a sense of excitement. The only act that was unique, for me, was the girl who was hanging by her hair. I don't know what kind of shampoo she uses, but I need to get some of that ASAP, because damn. Was there for the 1,000th show and had so much fun. All the artists and performers, like all other Cirque Du Soleil shows, are some of the most amazingly talented people on the planet. Everything they do is awe inspiring. The show is actually quite long but you don't want to end because of how amazing the stunts being performed are. This was my third Cirque show I've attended and I had a blast but I think I'm starting to develop a slight concern. It seems as if all Cirque shows are built on the same template and I worry that by my next Cirque experience, I'll perceive it to be pretty stale. Hopefully this doesn't happen as I only go to these shows once every one to two years. But definitely give these guys some money and your time because they deserve it! read more

I always enjoy Cirque du Soleil Shows. Goldstar had Discount Tickets for this production called Volta. Some of the highlights here included the Trampoline Wall, The Bicyclists, The Aerialists, The female Aerilist dangling by her hair, The Laundry Sketch & others. They had a Large Merch area for T Shirts & other show related merchandise. There were also multiple Concession areas to purchase Food & Drinks. The Show also had an Intermission. A Fun Inexpensive night out! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Entertaining, inspiring and brilliant! The cast of extremely diverse group of individuals gave it all and it moved me: Volta's theme is about self acceptance. I feel lucky to be able to watch them perform their 1000th show. The costumes are striking & also, the live band's music is superb! I would want to share my favorite parts of it but I dont want to spoil it for the readers. It is kid friendly; I think they are the ones who enjoyed the most. I highly recommend Cirque du Soleil Volta for the whole family. I definitely would visit the merchandise store, they have a lot of good stuff. This show was what you expect from a cirque de soli show. Extraordinary athletes doing exciting aerial acts. Great top notch production. In my opinion all the seats have great views of the show. Sure the front row is always the best, but it's not to big under the big top. Now the only gripe I have is the parking situation. There is only one way to get in and out. No traffic control outside of the stadium too. That would help a lot. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves our second Cirque show here at the stadium. Great opportunity to wet your feet if you've never seen a cirque de soliel. Save yourself a trip to Vegas and check one out here in LA area. read more

Huge Props to Yelp for hooking it up with these Volta tickets. Volta is absolutely amazing. For a firdt time viewer, it was stunning, amazing, and major spectacle. There are acrobats, skaters, BMX bikers, dancers, and of course, Mr. WOW. It is literally fun for the whole family. I don't know how many times I uttered the words, "What the f***?" In awe of the talents and abilities of the cast members. It was incredible to watch. I really want to go see a Last Vegas version of Cirque du Soleil show now. The best part for me was the trampoline act, because of the superb acrobatics, but most surely the timing of it all. Parking is $25, so unless you're Uber-ing. Another great show from Cirque Du Soleil - VOLTA. It is just amazing to see how they set up temporary tent with turn table stage, moving lights, scenery and more.. This show wasn't great as I expected compare to other Cirque Du Soleil shows I watched but still fun to watch amazing performances. Every performers really showed their best acts and tried their best to get connected with the audiences. The food/drinks they sell inside is very expensive. $6 for bottle of coke is just outrageous as well as popcorn and nachos. Also $25 for parking is just crazy. The best thing I can say about this show is the interaction with the crowd. They truly are so talented and look like they are enjoying themselves while they are entertaining the guests as well. I had the privilege of seeing Cirque Du Soleil's Volta last night at the Dodger Stadium. It was their 1000 milestone performance. The ambience, the lighting, the performers, and the direction of this production was captivating. A phenomenal show. There's so much talent underneath this tent. There wasn't a bad seat in the house, and from beginning to end the crowed wow'd with delight. The message was simple - acceptance and freedom. That's what I took from Volta. These performers work so hard and put on an amazing show. They were all so graceful, in synch, and moved with ease. I support the arts and this is a must see show if you're in town. They have souvenirs, a VIP section for champagne, beer garden, and a concession stand. You'll find all your favorite ball park treats from popcorn, hot dogs, nachos, and cotton candy. If you're looking for something more substantial, maybe have dinner before or after the show. Regardless, it was a great performance and I'm looking forward to the next! read more

The show gets a 3 star from me, because of bad management. When all the five entrances to the stadium are CLOSED and you have to enter through only Vin Scully Ave in Parking Lot 1, all they had to do was put out signs in all those closed entrances. Google and Apple Maps were clearly overwhelmed. Almost everyone ran into multiple dead ends with no information, no cop, no assistance, no poster or directions whatsoever. The show itself was in a rather small tent on Parking Lot 1. Cramped chairs and too-close-to-eachother seating was a pain. The versatile gymnasts did a great job, but the comedy interludes were too long and boring. Despite my knowing a little smattering of French, the French story telling could not be understood and people were wondering what was going on with Opera like presentations and clueless stringers often on the stage. The side screens tried to depict an Amelie like story or whatever! Parking fee was terrible at $25. Of course all the refreshments cost an arm and a leg. A forced intermission of 30 minutes in a 2 hour show is designed to milk more money from the visitors! read more

Well, this is only the second review of this show on Yelp...it is OBVIOUS that the first one was written by someone associated with the show! This is one of the weakest Cirque shows, I've seen in the last few years! Almost NO story line, very repetitive couple of acts. If you like bike acts (lots), tumbling, rings and lots of modern dance / ballet...then you'll love this show! The first half had a breakdown of some kind, they had to stop go to black and apologize for 5 min delay. I now realize that we never saw the Trampoline act, must have been a tech or personal issue.The best acts were the double Dutch jump rope and the girl that hangs by her hair. Girl on roller skates was character (very good) through out, should have featured her more. Be sure to have plenty of sleep before attending! read more

I'm leaving this review because if you looked around the internet, Volta seemed to have a LOT of bad press from folks with unrealistically high standards. I would honestly not let the negativity dissuade or discourage you from going. Volta was great. This will have been my 6th Cirque (5th tent show) and I guess the thing that you have to realize is that there is no Cirque like your FIRST Cirque. The amazement, the wonder and the wanting-to-quit-my-job-and-just-work-out-all-day-to-join-the-circus fades faster and faster each time. That being said, it's still a captivating performance where the awe-inspiring skill and beauty of the human body is showcased. All the thoughts that run through your mind when you watch Volta will be similar to what you thought the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc, time. Yes, it's true. This one isn't as mind-bogglingly artsy, and no tears were shed and yes it does seem geared at a more urban/young audience but it's all the right stuff. The lights, the music were all on-point and we left feeling that sense of wonder if only for a short time. My recommendation? Don't let your expectations get in the way. Oh and don't pay $25 to park in the lot. Just Uber or park and walk. read more

The director has to have his head examined. The second act tanked harder than the Hindenburg. It wasn't only that the "premium", 200$ tickets were looking through severely scuffed, barely transparent, plastic wall...for the final act, but that wall remained through the bows... Not only was that very disappointing, but the storyline went from a lovely story of being bullied,and different, to an abrupt ending with little to no continuity...and certainly no catharsis... The individual acts were very well executed, but not groundbreaking... I've been in the industry for many years, and I can tell you that someone severely dropped the ball in order to take our money. If you want some advIce in the future, I, or a second-grader, can help out. God, what a tragic ending...ummm, no, what a tragic abandonment of an ending. read more

My wife and I went to the show today and were pleasantly surprised. It was better than we expected it to be. After reading some of the reviews we were a bit nervous that it wasn't going to be a good show but it was. I mean there were things every so often that weren't that great like the so called comedian that did a washing laundry bit and a beach bit that just wasn't funny at all, and the opening of the show was very boring with strange looking gold people, and a strange group of people that just walked around throughout the show that I think were supposed to look like they were taking pictures of everything, and I have no idea what the story line was supposed to be; I guess something about a kid with strange blue hair and his experiences through life and being accepted with that unusual looking hair; I have no idea it was an awful story line. Although some of the show was very bad, most of it was great. We liked the singers, the music, most of the acts, the violin player, etc. The first hour went so fast we were shocked it was already intermission. Then the second hour went just as fast, I would have sworn we had sat down and yet the show was over. That means the show was good since we were so enthralled that time flew. There was one thing that was very irritating and that was the $25 charge for parking. The parking fee wasn't from Volta, the ridiculous high parking fee looks like it was charged by the owners of the Dodger Stadium parking lot: Kevin Walter, Frank McCourt, and Guggenheim Partners. I won't ever go there again because they're taking advantage of people with that high parking fee. read more
