For most of that time, service was solid -- they generally showed up on time, were helpful, and I paid every bill promptly. We had a good relationship for a long time. Over the last year or two, though, things slipped noticeably. They started showing up haphazardly, often not on the days they promised, and it would take a week to a few weeks to get any email confirmation or follow-up. Communication became very spotty. That came to a head when I was selling my boat and needed a tachometer issue fixed -- the engine was over-revving. I contacted Chris directly, explained it was time-sensitive because the boat was being surveyed for sale, and was told I'd be added to the list and taken care of quickly. Instead, I waited five weeks with no update, emailed twice with no response, and finally had to call the office myself to ask what the delay was. That's when Austin told me Chris and Rob were both out on vacation at the same time, leaving him as the only guy handling everything -- with zero communication to me beforehand that there'd be any delay. I was told a tech would come out that Monday. Austin confirmed he'd be there. He never showed. When I followed up Thursday, he said he'd just gotten busy and never made it out -- his response was basically, "good luck, I hope it turns out okay for you." The pre-sale survey happened before the tachometer was ever fixed. As a direct result, I had to lower the overall price of the boat and create a $2,000 seller's allowance during negotiations. I lost several thousand dollars because they didn't show up and fix the problem like they said they would. Despite a decade of loyalty and on-time payments, the lack of communication and missed commitments during a time-sensitive repair left me feeling like I was no priority whatsoever, and that our long-standing relationship didn't matter at all. I felt betrayed, and this growing pattern of unprofessionalism and lack of caring has reached a point where I would not recommend them, nor would I ever use their services again if I get another boat. You're paying a premium and getting low-budget service.

I recently had lithium batteries installed on our boat. If not done properly, it can create serious…read moreproblems with a boat. I'd done a ton of research before deciding to do it, but the biggest issue was to do it safely and to make sure everything was working nicely with the lithiums. That meant the two Balmar 612 charge regulators that regulate the power coming from the two alternators, the Mastervolt Chargemaster 12/100-3 charger, and the Victron SmartSolar 100/50 all needed to be properly configured so the batteries don't get over or under charged. I'd been told that the best in the business was in Annapolis at Marine Electric Systems by other sailors, one of which had had an 1,800 Ah lithium system installed on his boat by them. I was not disappointed! Patrick and Rob know boat electrical systems better than anyone I've worked with in the past. I ended up hiring Rob to come all the way down to Portsmouth, VA to do the install on our boat. He was fast, efficient, and the quality of his work was flawless. Just as importantly, he answered all the questions I fired at him and made sure I understood him. If I ever need electrical work done on our boat again, they're my number one choice!

Fast forward to early part of Oct and I took my boat in to get a quote on a spider crack on the gel coat above the water line that popped up Al end of the season '24. After we discussed his pricing etc for that fix and I found his pricing very reasonable I went through a laundry list of stuff, fix a gel coat chip, 2 more on the interior, wash/buff/wax the boat, replace the scupper valve, repair the trailer turn signal lighting, and replace the winch strap. I figured it'd take weeks, maybe a month, wasn't in a rush to get it done as it's the end of the season. Well, as Jeff quoted me 10days, on the 8th day I got the call everything done! Went and picked the boat up today...absolute perfection. Although cloudy out, cannot tell any repairs made, looks factory. Everything fixed/repaired with no issues! Highly recommend!
