I had a much different experience in Leeds where you had to wait at least 2 weeks for an appointment and once you got to see a doctor they were already writing the presciption before you entered the room! - So i really appreicate the service from here. It has recently merged with the doctors behind it and so have moved to the larger building behind but thsi move has been well signposted.

I cannot complain about the service I receive from here,it has always been the best on offer. There are no nightmare receptionists,customer care seems top priority and everyone is treated with respect and warmth. The building is light and airy and very welcoming and has an open reception desk.There are lots of self help and information leaflets available and a notice board area.Plenty of comfortable seating,a childrens play area and toilets. They offer a physio service at the surgery should you be unlucky enough to need it along with the usual health and support clinics.There are plenty of staff to help with queries ect and the whole surgery seems so well organised and the staff efficient and well trained. Always five star service here.

The health centre or clinic is located behind the top end of Bedlington Front Street, beside the…read morelibrary. There is a private car park with many spaces available including two disabled spaces very near to the entrance. There is also a carpark adjacent to the clinic. If you are driving to the clinic take the road leading up the bank alongside the entrance side of the Netto store and take the first right. The clinic has two sets of sliding doors which open automatically and which provde easy access for disabled people and those with prams. Inside there is a small waiting area with soft chairs. There is a small area especially for childen where they can play with books and toys. There is a reception desk at the left hand side with a small window where you can talk to a staff member to make appointments etc. The clinic now has a self check in service if you have an appointment with a GP or nurse. This works electronically and is located at the farthest end of the room after you enter. When the doctor is ready to see you your name comes up on a electronic screen mounted on the wall. This beeps when the name changes. I find this a little invasive and a bit of a challenge to privacy but it saves the staff some trouble. The doctors rooms are located in a maze of corridors. Sometimes the doctor will leave the door open or greet you in the corridor. There are mostly male GP's but if you are a female you can sometimes arrange to see a female doctor if it is an intimate issue.

Christmas gone Dr Reynolds personally treated me for some considerable time as my COPD had me in bed for most of the holiday until I saw Dr Reynolds for an emergency appt the 1st day after christmas.He spent quite a few hours over 3 visits in 4 days to get me up and going again. Sometimes you can make an advance appointment for routine appointments eg prescription reviews but some days you can only call on the day which is hopeless for those who work and are non-urgent. Doctors are friendly and Dr Little, Dr Dewhirst and Dr Reynolds are definitely the most attentive and confident. There is a pharmacy within the doctors that does up the prescriptions.

Patients at The Nunthorpe branch can request to be seen on The Middlesbrough site if needed. I have been visiting this Dr's surgery for the last 21 years and have had nothing but valuable medical assistance here. The Dr's are all very friendly and spend time with you on each appointment. It is easy to get an appointment by telephone and if you have an emergency and ring as the surgery opens you will usually be able to be seen that day. The surgery also has at least one practise nurse. Parking is sometimes difficult as you are sharing spaces with other shoppers , there is a small car park at the opposite end from the Dr's. There is also a chemist a few shops from the Dr's who can help with your prescription needs after appointment. A lovely team of Drs, nurses and receptionists are on this site and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone moving into the area

I go to this surgery simply because I have no other choice. I realize the staff are overworked and…read moreunder funded, but you know what? It's the same in my job. Except that if I treated people the way the auxiliary staff at this surgery do, I'd be sacked. Today was no exception. I went in for fertility testing- the NHS isn't known for its bedside manner, but this is a pretty heartbreaking thing my husband and I are going through. The nurse who does the blood work is always incredibly nasty but but because I was so upset about these tests, I tried to be cordial. She was just rude in return and even argued with me about a form I was supposed to have- a form that I've never had by the way. It takes weeks to get appointments here, plus this testing is time sensitive, and this awful woman almost didn't do my blood work because of a non existent form. I left the room in tears but couldn't go home because I had to renew a prescription. The woman at the front desk never once made eye contact with me but still managed to be extremely rude as well and treated me like I was stupid. All while never looking up from her computer. So, if you like waiting 2-3 weeks for an appointment where you will more often than not get treated like crap, this surgery is for you!

I can only speak as I find, yes the appointment system is quite bad, but if all the time wasters…read moredidn't book an appointment "just in case" it may help. Also this is the same for every clinic that I have heard about, but in saying that, when I have needed to see a doctor I have always been able to do so (and on the same day). Yes I have heard that some of the nurses can be a bit brusque, but I have always found them to be fine with me. On the whole I am more than happy with the service that this clinic provides - even with all the added red-tape from the government.
