The surgery itself is one of the smallest in the area, the benefit of which is that you don't feel rushed when seeing staff for an appointment. Nobody likes having to visit the Doctors, but this practice makes visits as easy an experience as possible.

Clinics and surgery dates are very flexible with appointments late evening or at weekends which is great if you're under any pressure to minimise disruption at work! In all departments they offer complimentary tea and coffee facilities...a nice touch but don't expect to be waiting long. I was a regular attender here at the end of last year and I can honestly say I had a great experience. I had an overnight stay post surgery in a very quiet ensuite room. I developed insomnia frustratingly but the staff kept popping their heads in to offer me pain meds and hot chocolate. Both as an inpatient and in outpatient clinics my surgeon,nurses and physios were all absolutely fantastic...cannot fault the service at all!

This clinic is new and clean like all the other medical buildings I've happened upon in Newcastle. The toilets are clean, they are locked now so you will have o ask for the key to use the facilities. The staff are not always that friendly but they are helpful. The GP is very efficient, quick diagnoses, no fuss, but I can't help feel like I'm being treated very clinical in there. The nurses for the walk-in service are friendly but can only treat minor things and can tell you if you need to see the doctor. It is quick and easy to register to be able to use the GP services (faster if you find a member of the admin team and have your documents such as NI number, ID and proof of address). Also, it is located in a very handy place as the bus stops right outside the practice and there is a pharmacy next door.

I've attended here twice in the last year for more specialist clinics as opposed to use of the…read moregeneral doctors surgery. The heath centre itself is easily accessible by bus or car and offers ample parking with it being next door to Aldi supermarket. The pharmacy is just around the corner too which is pretty convenient for those needing prescriptions. Found it a little unusual that there isn't a reception upstairs so you sit in the waiting room and hope for the best. I was a few minutes late on one occasion and sat for half an hour oblivious to whether they had already called my name or were just running late. The waiting room is also small and cramped so personal space does not exist if it gets busy. The staff seem friendly enough. They don't appear to go the extra mile though. On both occasions I was told what I already knew and that I needed to be seen at the RVI for actual treatment so it appears to be an unnecessary stepping stone. Not much else to say really.

Dr Newbegin has treated me during this period and what an excellent doctor she is ,her knowledge, helpfulness and communication skills ( essential in a diverse community such as Fawdon ) are first class,she is a credit to the group. The nurses , also , are worthy of praise , they welcome you like a long lost friend and are very skilled with your treatment. The reception team have to bear the brunt of an entire nations problems (appointments ) and they do it with control and politeness . Overall, I am very happy with the service. They always not fully booking appointment for baby , if you book appointment for emergency call in the morning and you got appointment on the same day. Beware do not to much make plenty ask list when go to this surgery, Doctor Andy Ramshaw and Doctor Mondolum can kick you off if you got appointment with them just ask ONLY ONE. This place not to bad for the services but never got service on the Friday evening, even receptionist always not stanby in her chair and busy doing make up for going out.

Attended here for a few outpatient hospital appointments over the last couple of years and while…read morethe waiting times in most clinics are excessive++ the RVI is a pretty good hospital. It can be difficult to navigate around if you're not familiar with the set up but staff are always more than happy to direct anyone wandering around looking lost. In the New Victoria Wing you have a selection of places to eat including a Costa Coffee and Subway but the prices are canny expensive. The building is light and airy almost resembling an airport in my opinion so not a bad place for visitors to wait. Quite a contrast to Leazes Wing which is a tad stuffy but again it's the staff and quality of care that really matter and that appears to be top notch!
