The owner of this business, Sally Tsutsui, will not accept any calls from me. I called to ask her why she had refunded 2 weeks of rent that was paid to her by CA COVID-19 Rent Relief Program that was meant to keep me safe from being evicted in the month of August without prior authorization from the State Program or myself. Additionally, she refunded me the entire rent I paid for the month of September on the same check. She gave me a nonsense reply via email and when I called the office to speak with her, her staff notified me that I'm to email only. They said she would not be taking calls from me, email only. This woman convinced Ronaldo Beltran, the new/green property owner of the apartments I live in, to illegally evict me for being an "Unauthorized Tenant." Even though Ronaldo applied for and was granted $8,400 in CA State funds, stating to Rent Relief Case Manager Edson Leiva that I was his "tenant" and that "no written lease exists between us" during his interview. Even though I'd lived here over a year when Ronaldo bought this place in 2021 and over 2 years when Marina became the property management company... the UD filed September 1st 2022 stated that I was an unauthorized tenant and had a lease dated 2016 attached which was unsigned by me. The 2016 lease is the same lease I talk about in a previous review. It's the same one that Marina and their attorney Thomas R. Healy had edited to show only 1 authorized tenant instead of the 3 authorized tenants that were actually named. The 2016 lease was written by Lea Pannell and is not even close to being the most recent lease signed at this address. The most recent lease signed for this address was written by Lea Pannell and was executed in April of 2020. This woman and her attorney have both owned businesses in Vallejo for 20 years. Can you imagine the amount of lives they've ruined along the way? I would find every single client they've ever had, every single one, and I would interview them about their experience with the corresponding business. An investigation should take place, this is not the first time they've done this, they did it too well. The photoshop on the doctored lease, it was flawless. Well, almost flawless. They didn't count on me obtaining the original which read all 3 names instead of just the 1. What kind of business tells their client to do something so incredibly wreckless? I have kids, a special needs child... something so effing heartless? WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS WOMAN?! Not the kind that you want managing your properties and most definitely not the kind you'd want collecting your rent. Vallejo, this one's for you. If you meet her, run. I want to say that Sally of Marina Realty is the best. She was their when I needed her the most. I was force out of the home I was living in due to know fault of my own. Sally immediately found a place that I can afford. I was in a rush to fine a place to live. I went to Krystal properties for help but they didn't help me. They don't seem to help low income clients. I found an apartment listing on CraigsList (625 Ohio Street). I left a voicemail for someone to call me back. Someone called me back the following day but when I picked up the call I said hello a couple of times but they did not respond back?....that alone is a bad sign not to deal with this property management business (unprofessional). I called back and a lady who answered my call was not the friendliest she was blunt and had no personality. She instructed me to drive by to see if I like the area, apply, with a cost of $35 and a credit check? I WOULD LIKE TO SAY Sally Tsutsui IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! My mother and her caregiver had been living in a single family home for almost 8 years. The owner of the house is a business and the business got a new owner. The new owner got one look at the property, the neighborhood, and what a great job my mom (Cynthia) and her caregiver (Hattie) did to keep the home clean inside and decided to give my mom and her caregiver a 90 day notice without a good reason. He wanted to move in. My mother is low-income, a senior citizen, and disabled. Sally was so diligent, compassionate, and was able to locate a property for my mom and her caregiver. Sally even made sure the owners were okay with a minor temporary/removal modification so my mom could get up and down the few steps to get into the home. Sally is responsive and she knows what she's doing. She's been in the industry for many years and understands the Solano county rental market. The good reviews you read are probably from friends of the employees. The bad reviews you read are reality. *Staff is never available, calls and emails wont get answered for days (weeks in my experience.) Very slooooooow service. *Unprofessional- attitude over the phone, no one seems to know anything and can't answer simple questions. Tip for potential tenants: If you find a property you like "managed" by these folks use diligence. Tip for property owners: Don't. I wouldn't. read more

If zero stars was a choose that would be mines! Tried to apply to one of there properties they have for rent , that's been for rent FOREVER ! Instead of anybody calling or emailing me to keep me update about my application nobody did so. Weeks later i had to contact them myself They had many excues on why i didnt't qualify (Which sounds very STUPID to me). Week later applied to an different apartment with the same proof of everything i sent to them and got approved ! The lists goes on ! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!! Incompetent is the only word I could think of. Tried to apply for one of their properties that had been posted for forever and no one got back to me. After finally viewing the place Connie said she would review our application, after doing so she said she couldn't find a trace of our landlords and immediately denied our application. It took them over 6 months for me to get my keys to renters . It also took a long time get an inspector to look at my property . The inspector did a good job but the company has never gave me a report. Marina realty only takes your money and once they have it they won't help you afterwards. I had to make a second copy since they did not give the people the keys once the money was received. read more

Rented a home for a few years with Marina Realty. The service from the office staff was always polite and helpful. They took care of any issues promptly. When it came time to move (I purchased a home) they helped with all items needed without any hassle and even went out of their way to send me some mail that arrived after I moved out. was looking at a home but was denied because of my income. although my income is over 3.5 times the monthly rent. i have three sources of income. but they said they couldn't use the third because i don't deposit the cash i get paid into my bank account. i have a binder full of spreadsheets from my independent contractor job, as well as statements from the company's HR that i get w. every cash payment, which i gave them. clearly they never contacted their HR who would've verified everything they say they couldn't. not really sure why they really passed me up. credit was fine. income was there. but from reading other reviews i guess they discriminate against certain people. hopefully that's not the case. but who knows. the good reviews might be from friends and family. or people they didn't discriminate against. read more

Kind people, but pretty awful experience all around. Lack of communication/integrity caused my family and me many inconveniences. Our unit turned out to be rotting and we had to vacate. We were not given all the money back that we should have been issued, and it has caused a lot of stress. Proceed with caution, photograph everything, write everything down and keep tabs. read more

I was interested in an apartment that Marina Realty was managing, so I applied with them and paid for the credit/background check. One of their associates who showed me the place told me that I should get a call in 3 days for the results, however, no call from them after a week. I had to call them back and babysit them like children. They kept passing me around while on the phone. Finally they had to give me an answer. But where I'm getting at is the fact that they have bad communication skills. It seems like they will blow you off unless your buying a house. In addition, the people I spoke with at Marina Realty were fairly rude. I wasted my time and money with them. Even though I met their requirements and everything, they still would not give me a minute of their time to provide me answers that I needed. I was a college student at the time working a full-time job, but my money is as good as everyone else. Again, I met their income requirements, I have a clean background, and good credit score. I was not even provided with a copy of their report. I guess it's their way of making money on the side. If this is how they do business, then I don't know how they stay afloat. I found a place that took me seriously, gave me the information that I needed, and kept me updated until the process was finished and I was ready to move in all within a (Week) to a better location. read more

Connie & Sally were who we always dealt with and they were very professional, helpful and friendly. 1/10/2018 I recently just saw the reply and thought how distasteful the comment was that was left after my statement. I thought to myself how could any Business try to defend themselves with the same terrible behavior that the customer is complaining about. I read at the bottom of the comment that with black thing that I need my moms help. Wow I don't ever remember bringing my mom into this conversation sounds like it's at your mamas joke on yelp terrible just terrible and this is why I say don't do business with this company. I had a pretty average score at the time high sixes. Good job but no one cared about any of that and from their comments you can see they don't care about no one I hope when people select whether it was useful or cool or funny that they taken serious note that I was a real customer looking for a place to live and all this company made me feel less bad thank you for anybody who really listens and really wants to know what this company is good or bad, my opinion is horrible read more

Very professional, and honest. My main point of contact was one person "Sally", she was very kind and prompt. I personally prefer dealing with one person if possible, and Sally made it a breeze. I really appreciated that they were understanding of my dog even tho they were hesitant of a larger breed at first. The application process was painless and thorough. Now normally I don't do reviews but I felt like I needed to this time. I placed in an application the same day a property was listed on craigslist. I called and after speaking to 4 women I was told the unit was occupied still but arrangements could be made to view it with the tenants. I said great and was told I'd hear from them in a few days. Never got a call. So I called back a week later and was told the same thing but still nothing. I call back to hear the owner is going to be renting to a family member so they will stop advertisement. She did say they have another condo pending approval and someone would call me back. Never heard back and they have REPOSTED the condo that was supposed to be taken down since then. Im just disgusted with the lack of professionalism and communication this company has. Will not be renting from them. read more

Professional, competent, qualified and through are my words to describe my experiences with Marina Management. I am a homeowner, with a house I rent in Vallejo. (I moved from the area). I have heard horror stories of bad renters!! Since 2008, economic times have been bad and finding a good tenant has been challenging. My husband is in real estate and I am a nurse. We value the services Marina Management provides. Not only vetting potential renters/applications, handling deposits, conducting inspections, finding and paying service providers - yard, plumbers, painters, etc, move outs and releasing deposits in a timely manner. Sally has a professional team working with her, that's prompt to answer all phone msgs and texts. They take care of every detail, everything! Even their monthly and annual statements. Dealing with this so called "reputable business" (reputable according to them) was the most horrible experience I have ever gone thru as a potential renter. The people that work there do not call you back when they say they will and are very unprofessional in the manner that they treat their potential clients/tenants. I was appalled in the way they do business. I wasted my time and money in even applying for one of their mediocre properties. I totally agree that Marina Realty lacks communication skills and if they behave in that manner when you're a potential tenant, I can only imagine how they treat their current tenants. read more

The ladies in the office were helpful, overall. Initially, my fiance and I were disapproved due to mediocre credit then two days later I received a phone call stating the owner of the property wanted to move forward with my application so I provided paystubs and whatever paperwork was needed to start the process. Didn't want to give application fee ($60 for 2 people) until we saw the property. Things looked promising since the owner wanted to give us a chance. The day before our viewing appointment I received a call from the office staying the owner wants to pass on my application due to credit. At that moment I felt like they just found an excuse to give me because they went with another candidate who probably paid the application fee. Too wishy washy, should have been up front with me, should have given me a fair chance in the process. This is the worst property management I have ever encountered throughout the entire Bay Area. I have for many years worked with different property management agencies and this is the first time I truly felt discriminated against. The staff is unprofessional and not competent enough to push paper. They are not transparent and put on a fake persona of kindness. Do not be fooled by their marketing strategies and business driven smiles. They are not going to go out of their way to help you find housing. Also, they are not true to their business hours. Please try your very best to bypass the agents and try to connect directly with landlords/ property owners. AVOID THEM BY ALL MEANS. You will feel like you wasted your time and money; two things they evidently have no empathy for. This is the first time I have ever written a review of any sort on the World Wide Web, so that in itself speaks volumes.
