Tacos Fénix has absolutely delicious and crispy tacos that are a must try when in Ensenada!…read more They only come in Shrimp and Fish but both are so darn good. Plus for 2 shrimp tacos and 2 fish tacos it was only $10 usd. If you don't have cash in pesos, they also do take Apple Pay. When we went they had a crazy long line, I think we waited about 30 minutes in sun to order. However once you get to the front of the line, it's a super quick process with food ready to go. Once you get your tacos, you then scurry to put on whatever toppings and salsas you like. There are only a couple of tables and they were very full & busy when we were there so we took our tacos to the nearby river to eat. A lot of people stand around and just eat there. There was a father & son singing for pesos while we were there, too. Spanish is preferred but they can do English, as well. If you are coming from the cruise port, it's about a 20 minute easy walk.

Hands down the best fish tacos I've ever had. I'm already annoyed knowing nothing back home is going to compare. The fish is fried PERFECTLY *drool* It's a true street setup, so grab a stack of napkins and eat in your car like a normal, happy mess. Tip: pick up some ice-cold drinks to go with it. Next time I'm grabbing an iced latte before this taco stop, seems like the right kind of life choice to counteract the ensuing food coma

Lots of seating , friendly staff, fresh ingredients and delicious tacos. These were authentic, flavorful and pure goodness. Complimentary chips and salsa to start and although it was piping hot the consome was packed with flavor and a tad bit of spice. The meat so tender in the tacos. I ordered the birria taco plate 1 lamb 2 beef and I should have got 2 lamb. The cook was phenomenal the meat was so juicy and tender.

I came here during lunch hour on a Monday and it seemed moderately busy. Quite the cozy place, very comfortable and it was decorated with Christmas decor. I was seated quickly, and my order was taken efficiently. Chips and salsa quickly came out along with the condiments I would later use on my meal. Overall, I received excellent table service. The focus of this restaurant is on Birria, both beef and lamb. There isn't a variety of other Mexican dishes here such as enchiladas, burritos or seafood. There is instead a plethora of ways to eat the Birria including tacos, quesa-birria, and stew bowls only in beef or lamb. No chicken or vegetarian options available. I ordered the lamb Birria, which came in a standard sized bowl. The portions were modest, and the ratio from broth to chunks of meat was reasonable. While this place was highly rated, I found my meal to be average in both size and taste. When it comes to this delicious dish, I am a bit of a connoisseur, and I've had birria in different parts of Mexico, including Mexicali, Guadalajara, Ensenada and outside of Mexico- restaurants throughout Los Angeles and all the way up to northern California. This was not the best tasting birria I have experience up-to-date but it also was not disappointing. The flavors were standard and fair yet not memorable. I would recommend this establishment. Tip: my usual order at these places is the stew in a bowl with a side of corn tortillas. For those with larger appetites, I would suggest ordering the same thing, but consider adding one-to-two quesa-Birrias to reach satisfaction. I would return here but also leave my options open to try the competition.

We showed up in the afternoon and there were only a few people here. Our tour guide told us this was his favorite spot and that we had to try them, so we told him we were down to give it a try. We got a bunch of tacos to give all the meats a try, but the stand outs were by far the fish tacos and my Mulita of Carne Asada. My wife also got a Chorizo taco and she said it was really delicious. They bring the tacos out to you with all the sauces, and they are for sure all made fresh. You can taste the freshness. On top of that you can't beat the price. The workers are also all super nice. Just a heads up it's not right on the Main Street where most tours or cruise ships lead you but if you can get a ride or have someone take you here I highly recommend you come try this place out.

There was plenty of parking at the Smart and Final next door, and this is a great spot with plenty of seating for groups of 4. The pescado tacos here are to die for but my favorite was definitely the camarón taco . They give you generous portions of the pickled red onion and salsas on the side, so load up your tacos! My mouth is salivating thinking about this spot. The jalepenos were incredibly spicy though, so pick up a horchata from their drink fridge to cool down your tongue!

He tried getting me to order me guacamole and chips, I asked how much, he said $14 USD, I declined yet he still tried to bring it to my table which I declined a second time. It's not hard to find, but unlike so any other options, it's not loud or flashy. We weren't ushered in by some guy on the street promising "the best" of anything. It's small, but clean.. you order at the counter.. my wife and I were the only gringos in there, and we don't speak Spanish. We were quickly presented with a sample plate of all the meats available for their tacos. The wife and I each got a Birria taco and I also got a chicken taco with some of the best Mole sauce I've ever had. They had a table set up in back with all the fixings and salsas you could ask for and the tacos came with beans and rice. We grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler, and the whole meal came to $13 with a tip!!! I mean, that's an unbelievable value for your money. The tacos were incredible. The beans and rice were delicious and the corn tortillas were homemade and some of the best we've ever had. The wife and I often use Yelp! to find places exactly like this, and once again, it did not disappoint. If you're in Ensenada do yourself a favor and skip all the hype spots and go find this place for some amazing food at incredible prices!!

We got beef asada and fried fish pescado. I believe it was only $2.50 per taco so not the cheapest but definitely by far the most affordable and yummy in the touristy area. It's a perfect walkable distance from the cruise port. You can pay USD cash and it shows on their payment terminal the conversion. I don't know how to double check if the conversion was 100% accurate but just from a little google go the current conversion and counting out how many tacos we ordered, everything seemed to check out!! They have tables for you to sit at inside but open facing so you're covered from the sun/rain. It comes with 3 different salsas, bowl of limes, and my favorite part is the grilled jalapeño and green onions - omg so good! I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in town. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Asada just needed more flavor and not as cooked. I prefer a juicy medium Asada but I know that that's not how it's always eaten, just wish there was more flavor. Coming from Arizona I fortunately get to eat a lot of amazing Mexican food!
