    The captain of pastor!!!
    Peter I.

On the inside road just off the main road leading into Ensenada, you will spot this place. Big sign and you will make a turn to come back. Seriously, you will and must! After parking (I've never had an issue) you see the Al Pastor mountain and really nothing else. It takes your breath away. Then you see the captain of pastor and he nods and you know like is good. I say dos no onion and he nods again. All the sauces and other items can be ordered from the counter. You pay, get a drink from the cooler and sit. The captain starts to walk to me and we both smile. It's like dating Al pastor....yes it's that good. Then.... sadly it's over until the next time. Hugs to the captain and drive off. Yes, it's that good.

I did not know about this place until my in laws brought us here. It was the first meal we had after arriving to Mexico earlier in the morning. It's located in El Sauzal, a suburb or little town in the outskirts of Ensenada. The place was packed and overwhelming at first. They have a line for each taco meat that you're trying to order. I'd you want Asada you have to get in one line, if you want al pastor it's another line. Fish and shrimp have their own line, and quesabirria is another line. Very overwhelming but damn we're these tacos something else. I loved this place so much that I came here twice during my trip. I'm even considered the Duke now! Haha. The first day I felt like I over ordered. The prices are so low it's easy to get carried away here. I ordered two shrimp tacos, two Al pastor tacos, and a Vampiro which is a toasts with carne asada, guacamole, beans and salsa all on top. I ate this one last, I was too full to actually enjoy it but it was still pretty good. The al pastor line was the longest. You had people ordering quesadillas and crap instead of just ordering tacos which made the wait longer. Well worth the wait though. The al pastor was perfectly cooked. Very tender with a hint of sweetness. They put cebolla y cilantro with a generous amount of salsa and fresh slices of avocado. Really good amazing flavor. The shrimp tacos were just as delicious. The shrimp was perfectly fried with a very light batter tasted fresh and topped with cabbage, pickled red onion, pico de Gallo and crema. On my second visit, I felt like a regular. Lol. I ordered two more Al pastor tacos and a fish taco. The fish taco was delicious. Not the best but pretty damn close. Just like the shrimp, the batter was light. It was crispy but perfectly cooked fish inside. I topped it off with red onion, pico de gallo, cabbage and chipotle cream. A very delicious fish taco. This place is a must visit next time I'm in the area. I'm glad my in laws introduced us to this place. Can't wait to come back!

I love that it's an open air business. Very relaxed vibe. Plenty of tables and condiments. Beer, water and soda. Beer was cold and their Al pastor tacos were absolutely delicious.

Everything is good. EVERYTHING! My favorite has to be the fish tacos. Every time we are in Ensenada we make sure to have lunch here

We've been coming for years and have never been disappointed. Delicious food and quick service. Al pastor!!!!!

Was recommended this place so we decided to stop here on our trip to Ensenada. Not sure why, but depending on the desired meat, you need to ask a different cook for your order and you must also keep track of your food since they charge you after you eat. The shrimp was pretty good, and is what I would recommend above the other choices. The adobada and asada were kind of plain and not much flavor.

I know everyone gets real sensitive about their favorite food spots and will argue who has the best tacos, but if you think this place DOESN'T have the best tacos, YOU'RE WRONG! EVERY time we go to Ensenada or Valle de Guadalupe, we stop here for food. My favorite is the Mulita with Adobada. My wife always gets the carne asada tacos. If you're looking for a quick stop for food while in the area, look no further! THIS IS YOUR SPOT!

Delicious tacos in Ensenada. We stop by for good eats on our way to Eréndira Baja for fishing. Fish, shrimp, cabeza, carne asada, lengua, trips...every taco I've tried is delicious! Highly recommended. Tacos range from 40-60 pesos each (roughly $2-$3).

I've been going to this place for the past four years. This place is never a disappointment. I always go eat everything but the most I eat is fish tacos and shrimp tacos, served hot and in right in front of you. Love this place and I have taken so many people to this place and everyone has enjoyed the food here. If you are in the Rosarito or Puerto Nuevo area drive that 30 minutes and it is all worth it. The quality is fresh and the taste is amazing and all this with great and fast service.

My first and last stop every time I come to Ensenada! This taco stand is located just past the toll road and is a must try. Order the Tacos Al Pastor con Piña!

We did an atv/wine package while in Ensenada and our driver recommended eating here. The setup is a little inconvenient/weird/confusing. They have a bunch of stations and you have to go to different ones to order your tacos based on what meat you want. Then you eat and pay after eating. Ordering system aside, the tacos are soooo good. My favorite ones were the al pastor, but I also tried the fish taco and that was super good as well. Additionally, it's super well priced; I paid about $35 for tacos and drinks for 5. You HAVE to make a quick stop here if you're in Ensenada!

I came here during lunch hour on a Monday and it seemed moderately busy. Quite the cozy place, very comfortable and it was decorated with Christmas decor. I was seated quickly, and my order was taken efficiently. Chips and salsa quickly came out along with the condiments I would later use on my meal. Overall, I received excellent table service. The focus of this restaurant is on Birria, both beef and lamb. There isn't a variety of other Mexican dishes here such as enchiladas, burritos or seafood. There is instead a plethora of ways to eat the Birria including tacos, quesa-birria, and stew bowls only in beef or lamb. No chicken or vegetarian options available. I ordered the lamb Birria, which came in a standard sized bowl. The portions were modest, and the ratio from broth to chunks of meat was reasonable. While this place was highly rated, I found my meal to be average in both size and taste. When it comes to this delicious dish, I am a bit of a connoisseur, and I've had birria in different parts of Mexico, including Mexicali, Guadalajara, Ensenada and outside of Mexico- restaurants throughout Los Angeles and all the way up to northern California. This was not the best tasting birria I have experience up-to-date but it also was not disappointing. The flavors were standard and fair yet not memorable. I would recommend this establishment. Tip: my usual order at these places is the stew in a bowl with a side of corn tortillas. For those with larger appetites, I would suggest ordering the same thing, but consider adding one-to-two quesa-Birrias to reach satisfaction. I would return here but also leave my options open to try the competition.
